I have to say that I universally prefer Assassin; first, I am not the best sniper, so the 60%/2.25 slow down helps me quite a bit and I notice the difference. Second I like the extra power damage which, in conjunction with Cloak, can be significant (90% damage instead of 75%), third, I like the RPG aspects, sneaky Assassin running round, picking off targets.

Which one do you prefer?

I prefer the Agent, mainly for roleplaying reasons (I am an operative on a mission, not an assassin out for one specific victim ... I usually play the Infiltrator with shotguns and assault rifles, as in Tony Gunslingers Agent Guide). 50% time dilation are enough for me to make every shot count. I use assassination cloak though.

I used Agent so far and didn't have problems one-shotting things with the Widow. The duration makes it a bit easier to flank a lot.

But I think for pure sniping you might as well go for Assassin.

The funny thing is; I go SG training and still stick to Assassin...might mix it up this time round though...

Well Assassin still makes sense as long as you use sniper rifles. Actually even if you don't at all it makes sense. So I see no problem with it.

But I do think the flanking part is easier with a bit more duration.

The difference between Assassin and Agent is non-existant for me. I get the very same results with both evolutions.

My Widow Killer has the Agent version, the Shotgun Backstabber has the Assassin one.

You may have a different experience, but I found that Agent meshes much better with the Viper sniper rifle than Assassin. I found the greater time dilation from Assassin was actually a hindrance to the Viper. So if I want to one-shot-kill with the Mantis or Widow, I go Assassin. If I roll with the Viper, I go with Agent.

Those (my previous post) are the current versions, I often swap Agent for Assassin and vice versa. Little to no difference, as far as I can tell.

I go with Agent - the added duration boosts Incinerate, AI Hacking, Cryo Ammo freeze duration and NS (my favorite Infiltrator bonus power), I don't care for the extra Cloak duration - I always shoot someone before its duration ends anyway.

I think Assassin might be better for a Widow Infiltrator.

Surely that depends on whether you simply spam the Viper at their chest or actually aim for the head consistently? Continual headshotting with the Viper can actually be a pain in the arse with the enemy animation after the first shot so could still argue that Viper equally fits better with Assassin on that front.

I myself personally use Agent though, but that's mainly for power cooldown rather than actually sniping as I personally find the time dilation negligible considering I have a rather good shot.

Assassin actually has both better power damage AND better power cooldown due to the sniper zoom slow down 'trick'.

So yes, if you're sniping, Assassin is better; if you're casting, Assassin is also better. The only disadvantage for Assassin is a slightly shorter duration in hacking YMIRs/Geth Primes (Neural Shock/Cryo Ammo duration shouldn't be a problem given how fast an Infiltrator kills). Agent is also a bit more buff (it is barely noticeable though) and has more conversation choices in one or two cases.

So yeah, Assassin is generally better in my book, as I spend at least half my Infiltrator playing time in sniper zoom. I wonder if it makes Shepard age faster though (same with Adrenaline Rush).

I'm the opposite; find it better with the Viper...Assassin I mean.

The other thing, as I said is that the 15% power boost adds to Assasination Cloak, so you are getting 90%...cooldowns are better for Agent but I do prefer Assassin for all SRs and I just try to be quicker when I flank enemies...

The real reason I do NOT use it is the sniper time dilation. Time dilation + aim assist on xbox = trouble. Someone walking around next to your target? Be prepared compensate for the aim assist trying to find that other target... or not. So much fun guessing instead of just aiming and shooting. The problem is always there, but it's worst when there's time dilation involved (it can drag your aim so much you can barely compensate unless your controller sensitivity is very high).
