I know this problem has been reported numerous times, but I couldn't find a solution to it and I really can't understand why not, as I've finished the game before and never had this problem.

After the first intro cinematic, my screen turns black and I can't do anything. I can still access the menu, though. Loading a previous saved game does not present me with this error.

The only thing that's changed is that I used Gibbed's ME2 saved game editor, as I didn't want to play through the first game again. I mae sure none of my decisions in that game clashes with each other, but it is possible I might have missed something that I can't detect is conflicting with another.

Does anybody know a fix to this? I'd really like to play a new game so I can save Garrus this time around. Me3 won't be the same without him.

Same problem. This is my first try to replay ME2. I import a ME2 character that just finished the mission. Intro starts OK and all turns black after a shot on the Normandy. Music plays indefinitely without video, and I can at will access to the menu & quit. Strange !

If this isn't an edited save as in you might have messed up the save by entering a bad value that causes a crash, then you will need to post some specs. Does a standard new game work ok, so that it is only the import save causing this issue??

Thanks mcsupersport. Problem seems to come from edited save, as a non-edited passed successfully the test.
=> I'll build my editing game (which is just changing face & sex in order to have a male & a female Shepard available) after restarting the game.
=> issue closed for me.
