Bioware did you forget to put shadows in the environment in Horizon mission? I've played the 360 and PC versions and the interior of the houses in the colony of Horizon have proper shadowing, whilst the PS3 version looks like there is bright light everywhere and not a single shadow. It looks fairly bad considering the rest of the game it actually stands out.

I know, I know, who cares right?

Well I noticed this and the second time around it really makes me wanna get over with the horizon mission  so I dont have to watch this!

Yes I love shadows. :)

Also, guys...come on...its been 2 patches already...fix the audio sync... it really is distracting and takes all the immersion of the scene away... And sometimes its not just a sec delay, its much more. I dont think that it is so hard to have properly synced audio with the scenes. Please fix it.

You are right about the shadows on the environments of the Horizon mission. The indoor areas have no shadows at all. I am not certain though if this was something that Bioware has missed, as the ps3 version has a completely different philosophy with shadows and lightning. If Bioware must make any visual (graphical) changes for the game, this will be fixing the overlord dlc. Anyway, the major issues right now are audio issues and Genesis bug. The first affects the overall mass effect experience and can be very distractive (on a game based on its story) and the second one is a game breaking factor. It’s a pity that such a wonderful game has such substantial issues. These issues, together with graphical bugs, collision detection glitches (as the flying Shepard bug), crashes (mainly on initial version) and frame rate inconsistencies (mainly on patched versions) on a game that runs superb on my cousin’s mediocre pc just proves how hasty this game was both ported and patched. Please Bioware fix the audio sync issues cause this isn't just a game for many of us, it is like taking part on a sci fi living world, so the game must be experienced in all of its beauty. Don't degrade your masterpiece!

INDEED! I was asking myself why everything was so goddamn BRIGHT in that Horizon mission. The crates and buildings being white didnt help either. In fact it was so annoying I spent about 45 mins messing with the game and my TV's brightness settings thinking it was not the game...So far worst mission in the game. I did not enjoy it one bit! A shame considering the rest of the game is really good.

I hope Bioware knows about this issue. Genesis glitch patch will come out this week probably and it it works maybe they will look into this and the audio-sync issue.

TBH I dont think they care... not for the shadows and especially not for the -most important tbh- problem with the audio sync... :(

If they are going to fix something is the genesis comic issue. Thats just about it...

Audio sync? no
Shadows in Horizon? not even going to bother to check it.

They don't need to check it. They knew it from the beginning. They just didn't have time to waste, as they had to finish the dlc arrival and then prepare for the simultanious release of mass effect 3. When EA publishes a game, situations like this are common unfortunately. I hate EA's attitude but I wanted to support Bioware for the great games it offers to us. This wont happen again though. No EA games for me anymore.

^^ While I understand and I agree towards your frustration over EA, I dont think Horizon Shadows were intentionally skipped when the game shipped. I say so because that would be apparent in other areas of the game and that is not the case.

But I do agree that once the game shipped or even just before the game was shipped they certainly noticed the problem and chose not to delay the launch to fix it. They apparently thought that no1 will notice this and they were 99.999999% correct, since I beleive I am the first person to ever mention this.

The Overlord textures is another example, although I am pretty certain -especially after the last patch- that the reason for these textures is not a simple matter of "we forgot it" rather than technical issues. Of course they can fix it if they want to, but maybe that would mean rebuilding the entire area from scratch just to ensure stability and quality.

n any case I pretty much agree with you that Bioware at some point knew about these issues and opted not to delay the game to fix them. Maybe they noticed just before the production of copies started, or after. They should fix these things, its not Bioware style to ship a game with so many glitches...

The most important thing is that this attitude (which is mainly EAs attitude rather than Bioware's) NOT to be repeated in mass effect 3. THAT IS THE REASON why I am so offensive and aggressive in these forums. In reality I am a very gentle and kind person but here I must be as cynic as I can, in order to show Bioware (and EA of course) that we don't want to be victims and that we understand what happened here. If we just thank them for a game that nearly 3 months after its release date is still a mess, then they won't take us into account in the future. Thats what I believe at least.
Westerday I tried to contact with Jesse in order to learn if Bioware as a whole (and not just the me2 ps3 QA team) knows about what is happening in the forums, but Jesse just ignored me. I quoted the following via a private message:

Hi Jesse. I understand that your task on these forums is
difficult, so I prefer to ask you some things privately. I know that I have
been too aggressive in the past, but I believe that I was justifiable since I'm
a Bioware's fan from the Baldurs Gate years and therefore I expect more from
your company. What I want to ask you is if the ME2 PS3 QA Team has any contact
with the rest Bioware team and especially the ME3 PS3 development team. Does
the ME3 PS3 development team know about whats happening in these forums? Are
the developers of ME3 trying NOT to repeat their mistakes from ME2? Do these
people have feedback from the ME2 PS3 QA team so the issues from ME2 aren't on
ME3 too? Also does Bioware have any contact with EA concerning both the issues
and the protest of many customers? Is there any case the ME3 be postponed for
two-three months in order for the ps3 ME2 issues not to reappear on ME3? In
other words is the ME2 PS3 QA team completely separate from the other Bioware's
teams and EA? I hope not and that somebody informs them about the issues, cause
these issues aren't only something that must be fixed. These issues are also an
opportunity for Bioware to develop a more functional ps3 ME3.

I hope that he just didn't want to answer because of my previous behaviour here but the truth is that I am still afraid for ME3. Yes I also have a pc but I don't like playing games there. I really want both ME2 and ME3 to be decent on the ps3.

IT IS OFFICIAL THAT MASS EFFECT 3 IS DELAYED TO QUARTER 1 OF 2012 INSTEAD OF DECEMBER 2011!!!!!!! I WONDER IF THIS DELAY HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THESE FORUMS!!!!!! If this is the case, then there is hope for both ME2 and ME3 (ps3 versions).
