In terms of "plot importance", yeah, Garrus is pretty much insignificant. However, he does fill the role of "close friend and advisor" quite nicely. It's true, though, that he really shouldn't be one of the "Oh, you have this guy backing you up so we're totally going to listen to you now" squaddies. He's too much of a rebel for that.

Unless the commander of the Turian fleet happens to be his flexible sparring companion or something.

I'd pay money to see Garrus' face during THAT cutscene.

FemShep and the hypothetical Commander wold totally have a joke about Garrus' reach. He would be devastated.

God dammit this is my favorite thing. When you meed a guy's ex, and instead of glares it's all friendliness and camaraderie and jokes at the dude's expense.

Do want.

Yeah but he didn't use a bomb, and thus needs to learn tactics from his father before he can get upgraded in the awesome dept.

Plus, and this is really petty, I think Kolyat is kinda ugly.

I have no affection for Kolyat whatsoever. Thane was okay, he was a good dude, and I dig repentance storylines so there was that. Kolyat is untested, unskilled, and kinda a whiny little b*tch. As a man going up against the single most deadly enemy the galaxy has ever known, I would not want Kolyat on my squad. There is only room for the best, because that's what it's going to take to bring down the Reapers.

Kolyat is far from 'the best'. He doesn't even meet the "eh, could be worse" bar.

Kolyat will save your life one day.

You'll be all like "OH NO HARBINGER IS GONNA KILL US!" and then Kolyat will fly in on his magic space board and rescue you.

Having Kolyat as a squadmate ruins the whole purpose of Thane's loyalty mission.

Feron,Aria and Gavorn as squadmates ftw.

I'm sure Thane will join you in the game. And much like getting resources and upgrading Normandy, you can heal him in the story to prevent his death. Seems logical to me. Of course, you'd have the choice to kill him off, if you like...

Possible. But not likely. Since we tend to only get one person of each species that isn't human (lame I know)

Pirate Queen of Omega?  Dropping everything to go play hero?  Not likely.

I wonder if Wreav will do anything besides sit on his throne all ominously.

Omega gets taken out or captured by Reaper forces, problem solved and Aria is a squadmate. =)

She'll probably agree to help you, then focus on regathering her own forces.

Can't see squadmate happening.

Yeah... I can't see her taking orders.

Though... it would be nice to see her humbled just a smidge. ^_^

I hope Garrus being a squadmate doesn't ruin Gavorn's chance of being one.....

Why Gavorn?  Can't we get a female turian instead?

Then again, if I had things my way, the entire squad would be turians.

I could allow a few krogan and geth too. But if we get a female turian LI I might pre order two copies of the game.

You know, it would be kind of cool to have the original ME1 team back (as full squadmates please BioWare, don't be cheap if you can avoid it). Except those you allowed to get killed of course, in wich case you just have to deal with the varia... I mean consequences. It would make it feel more like making the story come to a conclusion you know. I may not be a fan of all of the original gang but I can see that they all have a lot of fans and I would be glad if many ME fans get what they want.

Once again, you have created a situation where I want to go to there.

If you had to choose between an all-turian squad or Entire Team is Jacob, what would it be?

The obvious compromise would be a squad of turian Jacob. After all Jacob is infinite and therefore he already is every turian.

So I was reading the parts of the thread I missed when I was out today, and I happened upon the bits about Garrus really having no pull on Palaven. I agree, of course, one of the charming things about Garrus is that he's just this guy, you know? A slightly above average dude, but not some galactically significan figure.

That sparked another thought: what if being a bro4life is actually Garrus's superpower? Long story short, this little conversation between Shep and Garrus popped into my head.

"Well we've got Mordin off to Sur'Kesh, Grunt's on his way to Tuchanka, and Samara is headed to Thessia. I think we're doing pretty well on the alien front."

"What about me, Shepard?"

"Garrus? I didn't think you had any high powered contacts on Palaven."

"Well I do have someone I could look up. Old friend from my service, haven't spoken to him for a while but last I heard he was making a real career for himself."

"Not Mrs. Flexibility is it?"

"No, no. Good kid, he was a year or so younger than me when we served, he used to follow me around, sort of looked up to me, you know that kind of thing."

"Aww, so you had your own mini Garrus Vakarian."

"Yeah I... Hey!"

What in the devil are the hanar going to do? Ask the Reapers to leave politely?

Prothean artifacts, mang.

They're literally swimming in them.

I got this feeling that the hanar are actualy extremely badass...

The hanar using prothean artifacts to fight the reapers would be like crazy people throwing crosses.

I approve.

Paragon version - you convince them this is the ultimate pinnacle of their religious prophesies, a chance to finally achieve the Enkindler's goal for all organic life.

Renegade version - storm in and take that ****. Because it's a big stupid jelly fish, that's why.

Actually, DA2 doesn't fit that one.

Technically, Anders does murder for Justice. Or what used to be Justice, anyway.

Also, we aren't friends. This is the internet. You don't know me and I don't know you thus we aren't friends.

We're not enemies either.  Can we be frenemies?
