How classy of you BioWare.

I mean, just look at it this way.
You
create a game where your characters backstory is even selected by the
player, with a good long story and a clear motivation. You had the best
combat of any PC game released that year, and the only characters I've
cared about in a long time.
Then you say the dreaded word streamlined which, basically means "We're removing the good parts in favour of dumber versions of them." that was not shagadellic.
THEN you go on to say, we're making the main character voiced, removing
the epic journey, and removing the ability to chose your race.
You removed all the things that made me and the people I've recommended it to love Origins.
I
mean, every part of Origins sucked you in, i only realised i should
have stopped playing hours ago when i got up to go to the toilet and
realised it was 5 in the morning. But with DA 2 i always stopped playing
early.
When you have a game that someone can play till 5AM and not realise ti, you know you've made a good game.
You removed so much and added so little, how didn't you think this would bomb?

Shep- I mean Hawkes, voice actor just sounded like he was reading lines off paper.
He sounds no more affected when his mother is dies than he would be if he stepped in gum.

Ditto. Every previous Bioware game has been a day 1 purchase for me (with the exception of DA2). But now I'll be sure to be more careful with my money. Their name no longer means "quality", it means "rushed piece of slipshod crap to earn EA some quick cash"

I hope they just could strike a balance between the RPG mechanics and the shooter mechanics. And have a decent import system+ more companion interaction.
Edit: And that the main story would be something else than companion quests.

This litterally happens to me all the time. DA2 was no exception.

It may sell because of the fact it is FINAL sequel of ME series. ME 1 appealed more to rpg players, ME2 appealed more to shooter game players. Now I wonder whom ME3 will appeal
Dating sim players.
(Oh, how cheeky.)

I enjoyed DA2 as it was fun but nothing like an RPG with a good plot.

So, to extend the analogy... mods would be lubricant to help ease it in and reduce the friction?

Not really, they just scream at you to like it like a little **** as it gets pushed further, crying and asking WHY BIOWARE WHY!
Then you take 8 showers.
I know what I'm saying, after I finished the game and saw the cop out ending I took 10 showers...yet the stench of failure wouldn't go away

Given Arrival and DA2 I'm not preordering ME3 - if the reviews are good enough, and the sales are strong I'll get it early.
Otherwise I'll wait, took them three weeks to lower the price of DA2, and ME2 sold no better than ME1, so I'll wait and see.

Yeah, it would probably make it easier, but still doesn't change the fact that something nasty is grinding back and forth in your ass.

And now, a couple of months later again, we have DA2.
I'm one of the biggest opponents on DA2, always mod sassing Gaider and such, but ME2 is being released later this year.
They are two different games, and they are even brnging back some of the rpg elements lost.
Chill out about ME 3.

So Mass Effect still has tons of potential. But yeah, I probably won't buy another DA game until I've seen actual user feedback(Gamespot user reviews, and some gameplay vids off youtube)

It's easy for them to say the RPG elements would be making a comeback
I can say my hands a dougnut, (which is only partly true) but I have no proof.
Anyway DA2 has told us not to trust BioWare, this is a case of biting the hand that feeds you poison.
