It's presumptuous to assume that because you like one style of game play, that is the "smart" way, and that fans of another style of game play are "dumb". Just sayin'.

Blah. I'm not saying that ME3 will be good, but it WILL sell.
I hope they just could strike a balance between the RPG mechanics and the shooter mechanics. And have a decent import system+ more companion interaction.
Edit: And that the main story would be something else than companion quests.
I'm uncertain if it will sell that much more than ME2, that only sold OK given that it sold less than ME1 so far (more or less the same, as far as I know).
I wanted ME2 to sell more, It easily deserved to sell more than FO3 and Fable 2, but strangely it didn't ~ and if ME3 is as good as I hoped, esp. before playing DA2, then it should sell more, but how many would start with ME3?
So guessing 2-3M sold in the end if its as GOTY as ME2, despite deserving 5-10M numbers.

So, removing everything about a game that makes me think and replacing it with a simple format that requires no though isn't dumbing it down?
Explain that train of thought, now.

It may sell because of the fact it is FINAL sequel of ME series. ME 1 appealed more to rpg players, ME2 appealed more to shooter game players. Now I wonder whom ME3 will appeal
Dating sim players.
(Oh, how cheeky.)
How about players wth enough common sense to not accuse a good developer of failing forever and three days after they made a game whih did not cater to its core-fans.
Yeah, I don't like DAII as much as I liked DAO. It even is a fair portion away from that to be honest.
But assuming this will worsen every game in the future is pure stupidity in my opinion.
Thank you

Dumbing down doesn't necesarilly refer to the players involved, although a fair bit of posts scream spellcheck as of lately.
It refers to the fact, that you can always opt out of certain game features, if it is too tedious for a certain taste. But they're still there for others to use. It doesn't work the other way round. You can't add something that isn't there. Hence, dumbing down.

To quote handheld, I aim to please in the ways of forum pleasure.
So, to extend the analogy... mods would be lubricant to help ease it in and reduce the friction?
Yeah, it would probably make it easier, but still doesn't change the fact that something nasty is grinding back and forth in your ass.
...sorry I was distracted by the thought of something lubricated grinding back and forth in my ass.

It will make EA think about what they're doing and not treat games like plastic cases stuffed with 50's.

It's certainly smoother, but they reduced the length and girth. It's far too small and shallow to be a suffficiently stimulating experience.

It is meaningful. I'm not sure how hard it is to register a game, like a couple of minutes tops? Unless then his definition of entitlement is void.

I don't know what difficulty level you were playing at, mate. You could faceroll your way to victory on Nightmare in DAO, whereas DA2 Nightmare takes some actual strategy. Now, I realize this is but one aspect of the game, and I therefore wouldn't call every person who enjoyed DAO "dumb".
My actual point was that if you want to have this discussion, you should omit the "dumbed down" phrase because mods lock them left and right. My disagreement with your assertation was secondary to that first point.

That's why they need to use the strap-on when the original fails to please the mass.
Yes, I just called ME2 a strap-on.

You saw what happened to that guy, he complained about EA so they locked his games that he paid for, all of them.
I'd rather keep Origins, thanks.

Yes, I just called ME2 a strap-on.
Strap-ons are so cold and artificial. I prefer my games to be more real, with warm blood pumping through them and a firm plot and solid gameplay.

Dragon age 2 is limp, cold and hasn't been washed or shaved in a year.

This is one of the weakest lines you can ever utter - why would he register his games? hell I plan to remove my registrations once I'm through with DA2 and DA:O UT as I have in the past with games like DA:O.
