I'm sorry you feel like BW killed one of your relatives, but they haven't destroyed any series yet. DA2 is a good game. It's just not a great game like people generally expect from the studio.
You
create a game where your characters backstory is even selected by the
player, with a good long story and a clear motivation. You had the best
combat of any PC game released that year, and the only characters I've
cared about in a long time.
Really? I thought the combat was pretty bland in DA:O.
The characters were good, but they were also very predictable. If you liked them, Kudos.
Then you say the dreaded word streamlined which, basically means "We're removing the good parts in favour of dumber versions of them." that was not shagadellic.
Alternatively, since
every single one of the "Good Parts" you mentioned above are in DA2, you're whining about something else and would like to imply that those of us who enjoyed DA2 are somehow inferior to your glorious, golden visage.
THEN you go on to say, we're making the main character voiced, removing
the epic journey, and removing the ability to chose your race.
You removed all the things that made me and the people I've recommended it to love Origins.
What's this? Something new?! HERESY! HERESY I SAY!
Okay, okay, maybe not so much. However, if they removed the things you loved about Origins (and you
knew they did this - since they had a Demo and weren't shy about these features)... and still
bought the game anyways, it's your fault.
I don't buy games I
know I won't like.
I
mean, every part of Origins sucked you in, i only realised i should
have stopped playing hours ago when i got up to go to the toilet and
realised it was 5 in the morning. But with DA 2 i always stopped playing
early.
Cool. It's not your game. Understandable. NFL Matchup 2010 isn't my game, either.
When you have a game that someone can play till 5AM and not realise ti, you know you've made a good game.
You removed so much and added so little, how didn't you think this would bomb?
Maybe once you take your head out of the sand and realize that opinions can differ from yours, you'll find your answer.
I enjoyed the more dynamic combat, the more stylized races and graphics, the storyline that (for once) didn't have you saving the Universe, the complex and commonly occurring party banter, and I honestly didn't mind the VO for Hawke, or being limited to a Human.
I did mind the re-used enviornments, the pacing of the first two acts, and the token appearance by Flemeth.
But what the %$#! would I know - I'm just a dimwitted, knuckle-dragging sheeple compared to the Ubermensch of the Old-School RPG players.
Conclusion: I'm cool with you not liking DA2 and providing constructive criticism.
I'm not cool with you just hating on the game and implying those who like it are beneath you.
