If she seriously fights dressed like that I'm not buying ME3.

Just...no. You don't do that to your characters.

Oh my f*cking God, you can't be serious. Why are you even on this forum if you are considering not buying the game? What are you, 12? B*tching and moaning about a characters appearance will get you nowhere.

There's nothing wrong with wanting some sensibility, realism and consistence in character writing.

Not buying what is bound to be GOTY because of one character's appearence? Am I the only sane person here?

Bioware isn't the only company that makes great games.

I'll be just fine.

I liked the formal look, but as long as they're not changing things to make Ashley what Miranda was (Fanservice) I'm ok with some slight changes in appearance. Hope they remember sensible style/apparel for battle this time though.

On a side note, have any of you considered that Ash might be a spectre this time around, thus the more relaxed look?

That's a lot of baseless assumptions considering she wasn't one in ME2 and ME3 takes place just a few months after.

These little things they do to attract the horny teenager crowd  (+ the resent happenings with DA2) add up and makes one doubt if the game will be any good.

Also I haven't cancelled my preorder. Just offering different look at this.

I dig the look. Hopefully we'll get similar customizing options for FemSheps, such as long hair...

This whole thread is baseless assumption, what's the problem?

Also, you contradict yourself by assuming that she won't be a spectre in ME3 just because she wasn't one in ME2. It hasn't been defined that it takes a "certain" amount of time to become a spectre, I'm just throwing that out there.

Well I really don't see this "Miranda 2.0" vibe that everyone is getting from that picture.  It looks to me like she's wearing the light armor version of what Kaidan is wearing in the opening picture.  If I had to guess, this is her casual-wear, and she wears the bulky, sealed armor in combat.

On topic, I don't see the fascination with hair.  I don't find Jack less physically attractive for her lack of hair, nor do I find Miranda more attractive for her long flowy hair.  Hair is hair, (or not in Jack's case) and it does not define a character.  Perhaps Ashley is going to be like Ivanova from Babylon 5, and wear her hair in a different style depending on the situation and her mood.  That would be awesome, and really help make the character seem real.

Also, we only have one picture in a very preliminary article.  It's entirely possible that something will change and make the whole argument moot.  For now, I like the look on her.  But it doesn't make her any more or less attractive, I just find it looks good on her, as did her bun.

I first read the title as "Ashley's bum"...

...but I'm a sucker for long straight/wavy hair on a woman. Just as long as they keep her reciting Tennyson, I'll be fine.

It's because she's been catsuited and her bust has been upsized to Miranda levels.

ME3 Ashley Williams
Miranda

Their bodies are pretty much identical.

OMD how could BW do this? They actually changed a character so imaginably much, just by giving that character longer hair, that it's just so unrealistic and without a sense of sensibility!

What? In real life, is it possible for you to have short hair and let it grow long? NO! Of course not!
The whole thing is just so unrealistic it's stupid...

Not buying the game!

You do realise the people who dislike the change primarily dislike it because of the catsuit and the boob job, not the hair.

Personally, I'm more concerned about the catsuit than the hair and the boobs. Though I really hate to puy useless dlc like the appareance pac, I was very tempted to buy the second, because it put a proper armour on Miranda. I really hope that they've learned the lesson with ME2. If they want to put catsuits on female characters, do it, but not in combat (though Ashley didn't seem to me the woman who puts that type of dress in ME, she said something about it in a dialogue in the Citadel)

I dislike it because she is a soldier. Soldiers don't want their hair flying all over the place while in combat. Also, she has a rubber spandex suit instead of actual defensive armor. Now she just looks like a cross between Miranda and Samus from Metroid. And not to keep bashing but the giant boobs.. Are we seeing a pattern here. It just seems like they are making a joke out of the character Ashley used to be compared to the character she portrays now. Again Ashley is a warrior, not a super model.

Sex sells I guess.

Though we're not sure that the catsuit is her battle suit. I hope not.

Why are people so obsessed with hair? I've seen this on other game forums as well. So what if she has her hair down? She looks great, and that's coming from someone who doesn't like her. It's a video game, making everything as realistic as possible takes away the fun.

for her change in hairstyle Ash fit the military part in ME it suited her and she looked ok and at some points alittle bad but not annoying and ugly like Kaiden always looks.

Seeing her hair down in ME3 I can only think she must be a civilian if it turns out she's still with the Alliance in anything other then a desk job then I'll be like and what happened to the by the book Ash I know? I'll probably find her very annoying when I look at her with her hair down sense it doesn't fit her strict self discipline. Unless she fell off the discipline wagon when shep died and not only lost her self discipline but became an alcoholic or something like that and is now trying to reform from all that mess but she'd have to say that in ME3 as to why she's suddenly (to me anyway) letting herself go like this.

About hte boob-job... Comparing Ashley's picture with Miranda's ( both in a similar position) I like Ashley's new boobs more than Miranda's :D Pointier rofl

But yeah, if you put it that way, it is a little like ****ing the character, but seriously, its in no way as dramatic as people scream it is.

Heck, persoanlly, I think I'll like Ashley in ME3 a lot more than I did in ME.

I also don't see the point in romancing her if they are just going to change every feature about her. Basically making her a different person. Kind of makes me wish I played on PC then I could just mod the old Ashley back in if they took it too far.

So does anyone actually think Bioware will take this feedback into consideration or are we just wasting time?

You're wasting time.
And this didn't happen solely to Ashley. Think about Liara ME and Liara ME2... Including SB DLC... ( also, Liara also got a boobjob, comparing to ME).

Bioware can not take you seriously if you say :

" If Ashley doesn't have a bun, I will not buy this game !!!!!!!!!!! "

It makes people laugh, even me a fan of ashley makes me laugh, so I think that they also would make them laugh.

And your exaggerations do not contribute to make you credible, with the story of Mirandadified. No it's not a reskin.

Then there are many people who like the new style of Ashley, mind you. They showed a new style, go back to the old for some hardcore fans,? It would be really surprising. But maybe who knows.

However, If you want my opinion, they knew very well that some would be unhappy with the new style of Ashley.

Then mainly complaints are useless if they have indeed provided a railing to keep her armor and her personality, as everyone hoped and what I have no doubt.
