Smith: Hi, my name is Smith. How may I help you?
Georgina: Hi, I was just wondering if the problem with the servers has an estimated time of being fixed?
Smith: Are you facing the problem for Dragon Age ?
Georgina: Yes, sorry. I had upgraded to ultimate on Friday just to find the problem with the servers and was wondering when it would be fixed
Smith: I do apologize for the inconvenience caused to you so far. Our engineers are working hard on it to resolve it soon so that many players like you who are not able to play the game will play it
Smith: I would request you to wait for 12-24 hrs to fix it
Georgina: Okay thank you very much for your time and for answering my question
Smith: Is there anything else I can help you with today?
Georgina: No there isn't. Thank you again
Smith: Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts support today .Happy Gaming!
Smith: Bye and take care
Georgina: Bye
Hmm. They play more with time frames than the Theory of Relativity.

Yes they do sadly but hopefully this is the time frame that it will happen within, because any longer is really an inconvenience to those who have been reporting the problem since Friday.

Has anyone seen any news items on this whole issue posted elsewhere?
I've been here mostly; you mean another Thread?
Wondering if anyone's seen this on other gaming news sites... I've checked Joystiq and IGN but haven't. Someone (claiming to write for) Ars Technica had posted in one of the other stickies a while back, too.

I logged out and can access my DLC saves.
My DLC content, and items loads fine.
Yes it has been established several times. It can happen, or it cannot. And those who bought the game during this issue, or were told to resintall the game by Customer Service do not have access to the profile file, so they can't get it running as their file hasn't been updated by a first-time authorization.
My mistake. I was at work today and came back to see a flood of mindless complaints, so I had not seen many had found that.
So for new installs they are missing a file that contains the initial authorization. Has Bioware provided a temporary download of a profile file that will get this working? If not has anyone figured out which it is in order to provide a tempory solution?

I've been calling/chatting/posting since Friday - Trust me, I'm already exhausted, and my OCD won't let me forget about it and just do something else.
I'm... going insane!

Well, I wouldn't call them "mindless". And no, Bioware nor EA have provided anything other than the first Post in this thread which I believe came after the multiple "mindless" complaints, and vocal involvement by some members of the community.

Also, you could modify your addin.xml file to requireauthentication 0 (change the 1s to 0s) That will let you load your saved games (as long as you are offline) but it will not let you play/use the DLC.
If you had previously Authenticated, then it is possible that by going offline and restarting the game you could play offline as long as you do not log back in.

I have never pirated a game, and I will not do so in future: I believe strongly in paying money for the games I enjoy, so that the industry can continue to thrive. If I don't feel that the terms are acceptable, my solution is not to accept them, not to resort to piracy. But please, for the love of mercy, don't make me *envy* the people who *do* pirate games! Right now, I can't help feeling that they're the ones getting a good play experience! Their cracked versions never give them this kind of guff.
I really hope BioWare and EA pull themselves back from the brink, on this issue. This is *not* the way to generate more customers. You're just driving away the people who would like to pay for your games, while doing nothing to force pirates to buy them. (I mean, have you *met* pirates? You could sell your game for a buck fifty, and they'd still pirate it, with a grin on their face! There is no talking to these people. *All* you can do is try to make life pleasant for your paying customers. Ticking them off like this is not accomplishing that.)
In conclusion: Sigh. What a complete and utter clusterfrack. I hope there's an entire forum thread devoted to a different person from BioWare/EA saying "I'm so very sorry", every hour on the hour, from now until 2020.

Aw, thank you Padme! <3
But don't go neglecting your sleep now. You'll surely be back in Ferelden in no time tomorrow!

I agree, I mean I did and redid the things the other threads suggested and frankly wasted time that I didn't need to waste. Since Friday till today when I stumbled onto the other thread.

Try removing even your save files in the final unistall as you rage that this is happening YET AGAIN and you can't seem to fix it this time... then finding out it was merely one more thing to add to the list of reasons why you won't be able to access your saves. Oh rage, how you ruin me so.stu270 wrote...

Just to chime in: This is not an "old" or "legacy" game, to me. I bought it (as in, became *your paying customer*) a few months ago, through GamersGate, and just got around to playing it recently. I was a bit freaked out by the online sign-up required to even install the thing ... Turns out, I should have been far *more* freaked out than I was. If I'd known that I was setting myself up to be unable to play a single-player game installed on my own computer, I would not have accepted that deal.

You're welcome
Oh I hope so.... I wanted to see the next part in the Cullen Romance mod... *looks sideways* Is this now a good time to suggest the third game have him in it? :innocent: Cause Cullen is awesome... and damn that Templar makes it hard to dislike Templars.
But yeah will go bed soon, just after this epi of firefly finishes.
