I logged out and can access my DLC saves.

My DLC content, and items loads fine.

Yes it has been established several times. It can happen, or it cannot. And those who bought the game during this issue, or were told to resintall the game by Customer Service do not have access to the profile file, so they can't get it running as their file hasn't been updated by a first-time authorization.

My mistake. I was at work today and came back to see a flood of mindless complaints, so I had not seen many had found that.

So for new installs they are missing a file that contains the initial authorization. Has Bioware provided a temporary download of a profile file that will get this working? If not has anyone figured out which it is in order to provide a tempory solution?

Also, you could modify your addin.xml file to requireauthentication 0 (change the 1s to 0s) That will let you load your saved games (as long as you are offline) but it will not let you play/use the DLC.

If you had previously Authenticated, then it is possible that by going offline and restarting the game you could play offline as long as you do not log back in.

My apologizes on the term 'mindless' that was out of line for myself, and really me ranting just as those who I was accussing.

I originally performed the addin.xml fix that you mentioned, but as you say DLC did not load.

I can confirm that the authorization to load the files is contained within: BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Settings\\Profile.dap

I removed the local copy, and the auto-generated one does lock me out of my saves. For anyone who was told to reinstall their game, if you have a backup copy of your Dragon Age files, I would recommend saving the current Profile.dap into another location, and placing the one from your backup in its place. Hopefully that gets more people back in game.

I'll take a look through the file to see if I can find anything useful for people who purchased the game over the weekend.

Aw, thank you Padme! <3

But don't go neglecting your sleep now. You'll surely be back in Ferelden in no time tomorrow!

You're welcome :)

Oh I hope so.... I wanted to see the next part in the Cullen Romance mod... *looks sideways* Is this now a good time to suggest the third game have him in it? :innocent: Cause Cullen is awesome... and damn that Templar makes it hard to dislike Templars.

But yeah will go bed soon, just after this epi of firefly finishes.

Yes, it was fun to tease him with my mage. :kissing:

Smith: Are you facing the problem for Dragon Age ?
Georgina: Yes, sorry. I had upgraded to ultimate on Friday just to find the problem with the servers and was wondering when it would be fixed
Smith: I do apologize for the inconvenience caused to you so far. Our engineers are working hard on it to resolve it soon so that many players like you who are not able to play the game will play it
Smith: I would request you to wait for 12-24 hrs to fix it
Georgina: Okay thank you very much for your time and for answering my question
Smith: Is there anything else I can help you with today?
Georgina: No there isn't. Thank you again
Smith: Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts support today .Happy Gaming!
Smith: Bye and take care
Georgina: Bye

Happy gaming?!?! Twist that knife while they drive it in, don't they.  I'm not happy and I'M NOT GAMING!

Wow I just bought the game this weekend and have been trying to make my content become available. I've been trying the patch, diagnostic, redownload. And its the server???? totally un impressed with thier authorize content method. total crap. I guess I should just look for a cracked version next time. I'd at least get to play a game I paid for.

It is so hard resisting the urge to tease him though...

Anyway Night all, hope to see this issue resolved soon. Especially for those who have been constantly telling EA about the issue until they actually made this thread and now are being honest about the problem and not avoiding it by giving us suggestions.

So Night and thanks to everyone who has been talking to the tech support. Such as Redundant Cookie, and I have to thank you personally for keeping people updated too, as I believe people thanked the others who did but not you directly and I have noticed you updating people on the issue while at the same time helping them with any other issues.

So on behalf of those you helped and what you are doing to make EA/Bioware speed up and fix this problem. Thank you.

Night

How dare you to have abandoned us Fuzzy! I bet you got to Loithering already! How did it feel? Did the NPCs look at you funny and say: "HAH! There goes that Fuzzy, and look, carrying NO DLC... definitely a Casteless!"

This thread has only 5 hours up and it already has more views and replies than most threads over 5 to 12 months old. That says something about the priority of this issue.

Very good point!

EA/Bioware - are you listening?

On Topic: Still on vigil.
Out of Topic: They should add Duncan as a SRI. (Short Term Romantic Interest).

But admittedly Alaistair and Leliana are the best.

*Edit*

For all this grievance I would settle for them to add a free DLC featuring a romance with one of the DarkSpawn, especially that one that has the ear to ear long grin.

Anybody's guess, I am afraid.  The server's been down since Friday afternoon in North America.  I suspect, for a variety of reasons, that it was not given treated as a dire emergency on the part of Electronic Arts over the weekend.  So they've probably been working on it in earnest for the last working day, at best.

I bought the Ultimate Edition in January and it was going fine.  Then on Friday it got this fun error.  So, before I looked up to see what was going on, I decided to do my own troubleshooting and uninstalled then reinstalled it.  So, yeah, we've all spent hours trying to fix our games that weren't broken.  Welcome to the club!  Worst. Club. Ever.

Even more off topic: I have a 35lb cat. For realz.

Hey! It may be the Worst Club ever, but it has a Fuzzy Bee. That should count for something. And what do you say about the idea for that Free DLC I posted earlier?

You need to harden her, otherwise she's annoying. But don't harden Alistair, he's too cute being goofy and witty as he is.

*Edit*

And fat cats are the best.  But what do you think about that Darkspawn thing? Ah? AH?

I don't mean to be cynical, but that reminded me of a school sweetheart I had, he broke my heart badly! His breakup was really ruthless and mean. Many weeks later after having ignored me all that time, out of nowhere he finalled called and I inmediately replied: "Th-thanks for calling me".

Your message reminded me of that phone response of mine.

Since Fuzzy didn't reply to my idea, what do you think? For having put us all of us geeks through this, EA/Bioware should come with a free DLC featuring a Romance with a Darkspawn.

Haha yes.  Be thankful for what we've got.  Yes, they could certainly be handling this a lot better, but that's most likely not the OP's fault.

I like to be grateful to the messenger.
