I logged out and can access my DLC saves.
My DLC content, and items loads fine.
Yes it has been established several times. It can happen, or it cannot. And those who bought the game during this issue, or were told to resintall the game by Customer Service do not have access to the profile file, so they can't get it running as their file hasn't been updated by a first-time authorization.
My mistake. I was at work today and came back to see a flood of mindless complaints, so I had not seen many had found that.
So for new installs they are missing a file that contains the initial authorization. Has Bioware provided a temporary download of a profile file that will get this working? If not has anyone figured out which it is in order to provide a tempory solution?
Also, you could modify your addin.xml file to requireauthentication 0 (change the 1s to 0s) That will let you load your saved games (as long as you are offline) but it will not let you play/use the DLC.
If you had previously Authenticated, then it is possible that by going offline and restarting the game you could play offline as long as you do not log back in.
My apologizes on the term 'mindless' that was out of line for myself, and really me ranting just as those who I was accussing.
I originally performed the addin.xml fix that you mentioned, but as you say DLC did not load.
I can confirm that the authorization to load the files is contained within: BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Settings\\Profile.dap
I removed the local copy, and the auto-generated one does lock me out of my saves. For anyone who was told to reinstall their game, if you have a backup copy of your Dragon Age files, I would recommend saving the current Profile.dap into another location, and placing the one from your backup in its place. Hopefully that gets more people back in game.
I'll take a look through the file to see if I can find anything useful for people who purchased the game over the weekend.
