So after I wasted over an hour trying to troubleshoot on my end, I find this thread. Way to tell us about the problem, EA. Is this the kind of customer service we should expect in SW:TOR? If so, you've saved me $50 + $15/month.

You have a fancy social network; why not send us all a message letting us know about the problem?

Or better yet, why not remove the stupid DRM checks? I bet the pirates are playing without any issues; those of us who purchased the game can't.

Dam right, im not gonna buy SWTOR with support like that, it`ll be just a waste of money.

Wow this is disappointing, after the pos that Dragon Age 2 was, I thought I would reinstall and start playing, but hey! Can't use my dlc, which means that the savegames I had before Friday are completely useless, thank you for your excellent customer service and your marvelous technical support. Someone said a few posts back, what is the problem in giving us a special profile file that is useful for X days until you sort your stuff out?

I think after this more companies should use CDProjekts approach to consumers.
The witcher showed how after release many problems are shown to be of issue.
So they rebuild the game, improve and fix all mistakes, make an ultimate edition and release it via patch for free.
Now if they release any game in future I'll buy it and recomend any gamer to at least buy the witcher.
All this and they used Biowares engine to.

*Types with hands shaking from withdrawals*

Thanks for the update, and the hard work I know is going on in the background. A heads-up at this point, a little progress report, would be a welcome relief for my DA starved brain... And everyone else who is in constant refresh mode :D

I found a way to calm the withdrawal symptoms: I still had some achievements locked, the "origins" ones in particular, so I started creating characters just to do origin stories. It's better than refreshing this page every 2 minutes. Worked fine... but I ran off of origin stories achievements to unlock. So it's back to refreshing. Gah!

kudos to sussurus he couldnt hit a better spot more companies should do that, great support and apreciation for the loyal costumers like the one CDprojekt offers. thanks to that they WILL get my money again why cuz they dont bomb me with useless DRM that cripples my gaming experience the way it should be, honesty should be priced for us honest costumers unlike the very unelegant little kick in the ass we got from EA now and how many other times...

Star, most of us were "compensated" with a $20 coupon over our odessy of pain and torture trying to contact EA with regards this issue during the weekend. I see no reason of why you couldn't politely request yours.

Gave it a try and I got the standard-issue responses on the matter, and the representative acted dumb when I asked about the coupon. Oh well. She even denied there was a server crash until I tried all of her "solutions".

I was sleeping and now in the office for the day (UK)... Is the issue fixed yet? Or is that a stupid question?

There is no such thing as a stupid question, only stupid answers.  "It should be resolved in the next 24-48 hours."  So, what's the weather like in your neck of the woods today?

I have to say, this entire experience has left me with a SERIOUSLY bad taste in my mouth when it comes to EA and their tech support policies. If you create a game which requires server contact in order to authenticate your DLC, and if this authentication fails then all save games which utilized it will be unplayable, then that server simply cannot fail like this. [...]

bla bla bla people will never read that<_<

I should admit I tryed, lol. That what's called "a wall of text"..
And on the topic: too much hatred here...RedundantCookie and other guys, where are ye??..Blessed are the peacekeepers, champions of the just.

Aww poor thing! Don't worry the Cookie is watching from Morpheus land... with insomnia! The dream continues to repeat itself - ahem - and here it is:

I dreamed everything was fixed. In my dream I opened the door and there were most of you, Harpy, Fuzzy, Raen... cheering and smiling, and you said: "We did it Cookie, we did it!". Some of the EA Reps came to the party too, we all joined Ferelden and cheered as Duncan was expecting us and told us: "We defeated them at Ostagar, we won, Warden, we won!"

We celebrated with some Orlesian pizza, dwarven ale (tasted horrible), and we danced! Then, in the dream, Duncan morphed into a Darkspawn, and it all turned into a Nightmare, the Darkspawn pointed at the screen where a big font text reading, "You are Unauthorized" showed up, and he started laughing. I gasped, in fear, and when I turned to look at the group, you were all Darkspawn as well! - It was horrible, HORRIBLE I tell you.

And now, back to bed to bury disappointment into the pillows! Ah, bitter-salty tears of unsated geekness!

PS: Also check out my song about the issue, a few pages back! :D

Why didn't you take the oportunity to have your darkspawn romance? ;)

Cheers Fuzzy... It's sunny, windy and still cold (but at least it's not raining).

I understand the fury over the servers not working for like 3+ days (or even more?) now, but isn't there a pretty simple fix in the meantime? Just logout of the server, and your DLC should work just fine?

Dang! Why didn't we all think of that! :P  No, if you had tried to play logged in perviously then your DLC is still unauthorized.  Why! Why! Why!  Shale is just sitting there in Honnleath waiting for me!  Sten needs his butterfly sword!

Really?  People got a coupon offered to them?  I sent in a ticket about it this past weekend, too, explaining what happened with my DLC, how many different things I tried, how long I'd spent to fix it, and asked for advice for more things to try, but I wasn't offered any kind of coupon.  I wonder why some people were offered one when some of the rest of us weren't.

I woke up and... nothing is different! Earlier the forum went down for maintenance and improvement (did you see any?). Even Dragon Age Legends (facebook game) went don't (that darkspawn was as pissed off as I am), I hoped the authentication server would be up and running this morning, but...

I don't wanna to hear another EA rep say "within 24-48 hours" again.

I thought we had this years summer last Friday (8th April)

Guess we're going to have to wait until 1600-1700 UTC when Bioware return to the office for any update on this problem.

I can't believe this ... 4 days that people who legitimately bought the game can't play the DLC (or load their saved games with DLC)?

If this was an MMORPG we'd get some sort of credit for the lost play time .. but since this is a single player game with DLC we already paid for ...... we barely get acknowledgement of a problem.

This doesn't bode well for the future of DLC gaming. Servers crash or get corrupted and you can't play the stuff you bought. Ouch.

ya know, I spent some real bux buying this game, hearing it was so awesome. I've had it now for about 2-3 weeks and love it. However, if EA and Bioware can't get their stuff together to fix their servers, then what I have purchased is a very expensive paperweight. I would not loose sleep over demanding from the manufacturer my money back. EA thinks this game doesn't have many followers, but EVERY company hates to lose money. If everyone reading this forum were to start talking refunds, well, either the problem would be fixed or a lot of people would lose their jobs....
