I encountered the unauthorized dlc while logged in on friday night, just like a lot of you guys.
I thought, hm, let's try play offline. And voila, the dlc authorized and able to continue my save.
But........ I thought that the content updater wasn't started, so I exited my game, rerun the content updater en started the game again. Then........ I LOGGED IN. DLC still unautorized. I thought to myself, oh well, just play offline and try again tommorrow........ only to see that when I logged off the dlc where STILL unautorized......
What if.... I never restarted my game and just stayed offline the first time.... this would'n have happened (to me)...
I feel so stupid....

On the (sort of) bright side - you can run through all the origins now for the achievements without issue IIRC.
I already have all the DLC........

if you somehow have a backup of your dap profile you can undo the effects of that last login.
I don't think I have a backup, the only profile.dap i have is the one in Documents/Bioware/Dragon Age/Settings...
EDIT: and btw i tryed to log in a lot of times to see if it was fixed, also after the "fixes" ea gave me/us.
So I gues i can't go back to the log in from friday...

I bet all the pirates are too busy playing the game to bother laughing at us.

I've not given up on BioWare, not threatening to never buy another thing from them, but really, this is sort of thing is just manna to their competition.

I am not sure of what you are asking but there is a workaround for those whom have not previously played with any of their DLC in a saved game. It requires you to navigate to documents/bioware/dragonage/settings and to modify the addins.xml file. Make a backup of the file and then use wordpad or notepad to edit the file. Search for RequiresAuthorization="1"> and change it to RequiresAuthorization="0"> for all entries and then save the file. This will authorize your content for use however if you already have DLC in a save there is a bug that often occurs, as I found out myself, that will make your DLC in game items (like the battledress, blight blood sword, armor, etc) vanish from the saved games and even new games won't have the content. So use this method at your own risk.
Oh goss, I tried that "fix" too.
When I realized is wasn't doing what i thought it would be doing i changed it back.
I can't remember if i made a save at that point.
Am I screwed now?

There is a workaround that worked for me. Its not a real workaround but more of a cheat. If you have a backup of your dragonage folders, from like a scheduled system backup, from before the glitch Friday morning you can just logout and your content will authorize and you can play. This worked for me. I had a backup from just before the crash where my DLC was still authorized so I made sure I was logged out of the DA servers, quit the game, restored from backup (except for the characters/saves folders since I did not want to lose any progress I had made) and then started the game and all of my DLC is present and authorized. Just don't log back in until this mess is fixed.

First, EA is technically incompetent. Their DRM system is pathetic. It barely worked when the server was running. And now that it's not running they can't figure out how to fix it. I can just imagine the conversation in the hall. "Whadda mean, 'Where's the backup?' I thought YOU were doing that!"
Second, EA learned everything they know about customer relations from British Petroleum. This issue is now in its fifth day. We have exactly one statement from them that has no information other than "We're working on it."
Given the above I would have to question how long they can continue to be successful. I notice that their stock is down 3.52% since Friday, while the NASDAQ as a whole is off 2.24%. Coincidence? Probably, but if I had any ERTS I'd be selling it.

I was one of the lucky few who complained about this enough early and got a $20 coupon for the EA store. (At-least it was something.)
I had a quick look at the time and saw a bunch of older games that were around half price. The next morning (I imagine after doling out several said coupons) the prices in the store were all back up to full price. Anyone else notice this?
Oh for crying out loud just fix the server already so I can try this game.

That was really cool, Padme.
Maybe you'll become a YouTube sensation and we'll all be able to say we were here in the "Lifeboat" with you
That would be odd but cool and I would so give links to everyone from this thread and the other (may take some time but still...)

Thank you, I nearly didn't. Not confident with my voice at all especially when its recorded in a rush.

Guess I'll check back in a few days, see what's up. I imagine it's gonna take at least that long just to get another official update ...
Oh, and btw Padme4000, if you're ever bored, and single - marry me pls [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/love.png[/smilie]
See you around peeps, and good luck all - hope this gets solved soon (I'm off to finish my Baldur's Gate playthrough in the meantime) [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/smile.png[/smilie]

*blinks* To be fairly honest have been single for way too long (only ever dated once and that lasted 5 days...) I am less confident with that than I am singing. Being nearly 21 makes me feel bad.

There has only been one official post with regards to this (Posted yesterday) by the OP. This issue has been around since last Friday.
Go to these links:

We are trying to be vocal enough to hopefully move EA to prioritize this... Let's hope it gets fixed soon.

Thank you very much for this, and for the spoof, for some reason unexplainable, it got rid of my bad omen.

Aww I'm glad it got rid of your bad omen... was meant to raise the spirits too so I'm glad it has for you.

Rofl, that was awesome Padme =) brought a tear to my eye![/quote]
Thanks, seems to be at least improving the mood which I am thankful for. No need for us consumers to get too upset... well there is but not to the point it can get you ill which I know from experience is not nice.
Also thanks to anyone I didn't quote who commented. Like Fuzzy
*finds another song to spoof*
Shame that this happened though... oh just got an idea *goes to make a video*
