i found this interesting post on another forum, i yhink it belong here

"I am one of the unlucky people with a new copy of DAO, and I'm completely locked of out authorizing my DLC content.

More importantly, how can I have any confidence that the DRM wont breakl my game in the future? 1 year from now? 5 years? I still play rpg games made in 2001. Will that be possible in a drm laden world of failed game companies in 2021? Will bioware even be around 5 years from now? Not at this rate of failure and decline. Especially not if DA 2 is any indicator of the direction in quality control and depth story telling and gameplay. This DRM display of instability may be the first real nail in their coffin though."

There is a workaround that worked for me. Its not a real workaround but more of a cheat. If you have a backup of your dragonage folders, from like a scheduled system backup, from before the glitch Friday morning you can just logout and your content will authorize and you can play. This worked for me. I had a backup from just before the crash where my DLC was still authorized so I made sure I was logged out of the DA servers, quit the game, restored from backup (except for the characters/saves folders since I did not want to lose any progress I had made) and then started the game and all of my DLC is present and authorized. Just don't log back in until this mess is fixed.

I'm to scared to do that sytem recovery.
I did that once on my old PC and it got all messed up.
I ended up buying a new pc....

So I've never played The Witcher. I've just ordered it to fill in whilst I wait for EA/Bioware to get their act together. Certainly wont be buying any DA2 DLCs until this server issue is fixed in any case.

I've not given up on BioWare, not threatening to never buy another thing from them, but really, this is sort of thing is just manna to their competition.

Heh...  I ordered the Witcher a few weekends ago from Steam during a sale... Steam ran out of license keys, so the game could not be played for four days.  Hmmm... deja vu....

Hmmm servers are going offline for a few hours...they need a few hours to delete all the madness on their forums =P

At the end of the day this is a single player game that should work without any internet interference. 1 thing i dont understand is people like me who bought the UE version cant play the DLC we didnt have to download them seperatly they came with the game it should be just 1 big game and no complications

So I wanted to play the game but then I had an error that didn't allow me to load my Saved Game. Then I checked the Downloadable Content and it reads that it's Unauthorized, what gives?

What am I doing wrong?

I've been dying to pick up a Title from Good Old Games.com (need to wait just a few more days to pay off a bit of the CC balance) Everyone should take a look at the classic titles and the prices over there!
Some amazing stuff...a lot of which I never played or never thought I'd get to play again)

DRM-Free!

Yes, that down time was scheduled sometime back. It shouldn't have anything to do, but it wouldn't surprise me for the DLC issue to be fixed in or after that event.

*Edit* Wouldn't surprise me if all of these threads are deleted, and we are back to square one. That's why you have to try to contact outside media and inform them of what's going on. We need to pressure E.A. - Go to the second link on my signature and post there.
