We will be doing some maintennance on the servers this coming Tuesday April 12 starting at Midnight PDT. It is expected to last approximately 2-3 hours and should end by 3am PDT Wednesday April 13.

During this time, you will not be able to log into the Social site or post on the forums.

We appreciate your patience as we improve the site.

Ahhh...
The server was down earlier today (at around 4am EDT) and I thought they had bumped up their time-frame for that...mayby this morning's down-time was unrelated.

So I've never played The Witcher. I've just ordered it to fill in whilst I wait for EA/Bioware to get their act together. Certainly wont be buying any DA2 DLCs until this server issue is fixed in any case.

I've not given up on BioWare, not threatening to never buy another thing from them, but really, this is sort of thing is just manna to their competition.

Heh...  I ordered the Witcher a few weekends ago from Steam during a sale... Steam ran out of license keys, so the game could not be played for four days.  Hmmm... deja vu....

That brings something to mind...
I've been dying to pick up a Title from Good Old Games.com (need to wait just a few more days to pay off a bit of the CC balance) Everyone should take a look at the classic titles and the prices over there!
Some amazing stuff...a lot of which I never played or never thought I'd get to play again)
The most interesting selling point they're advertising?
DRM-Free!

Oh, I've been a loyal GOG customer since they started up.  Mind you, they gave us (well, me) a good scare a few months ago when they took the site down (in order to come out of beta) and didn't tell anybody why or what was going on... Polish humour, go figure.  That was "planned" however, and something tells me this is not.

i found this interesting post on another forum, i yhink it belong here

"I am one of the unlucky people with a new copy of DAO, and I'm completely locked of out authorizing my DLC content.

More importantly, how can I have any confidence that the DRM wont breakl my game in the future? 1 year from now? 5 years? I still play rpg games made in 2001. Will that be possible in a drm laden world of failed game companies in 2021? Will bioware even be around 5 years from now? Not at this rate of failure and decline. Especially not if DA 2 is any indicator of the direction in quality control and depth story telling and gameplay. This DRM display of instability may be the first real nail in their coffin though."

Ha ha, I'm not going to argue with the "fail" part of that post...but decline? BioWare is at the top of their game, aside from the DRM crap. And I'm pretty sure that's a load of EA nonsense. Developers want as many people as possible to play their game. Publishers want to make money. Course when EA loads up their DRM generating spew holes and then BioWare fails to deliver proper support for it....then both companies are borked.

I just beat DAII and wasn't too satisfied with it; I've beaten DAO on PS3 and picked up a copy of the UE to give the PC version a go. I was absolutely loving the game until I got to my camp and realized that I can't get to the Warden's Keep, nor any of my other DLC.

Typical, really. How the hell does a company allow this sort of thing to happen?

Yeah...I was actually going to wait to finish my current DAO/Awakening/DLC run through before buying anything...
But the average life-span of a Human male is still somewhere in the mid to high 70's...so I probably shouldn't wait for that to happen.

You can still purchase DAO DLC at this precise moment, in case you wish to join the ordeal.

Heh heh.

Easy boy... don't get too excited on me now. We all know overly excited Krogans are dangerous.

I don't know about you guys, but I think I'm just going to leave to Orlais, and perhaps shop for some shoes over there.

Coincidentally I am now selling 100 MB encrypted files, that contain random characters.

At this point in time they are as useful as buying DAO DLC.

Aw, thank you Meent, happy to make people smile a bit, especially when we have all the reason in the world (geek world at least) to be grumpy!

And I do that when I'm stressed, I make people smile... which is why my breakup with my ex was such a confusing experience for him. ^_^

I'm old-school and am putting my faith in Amazon  :)

(or just old as I have no experience with this newfangled Steam, other than seeing it mentioned on forums.  However talk to me about booting m/c's with paper tape, how to physically patch code on punched card input, or play Colossus Cave, and I'm your man girl).

Cookie lies...  EA said it would be fixed in 24-72 hours.  It's not fixed, so it must not even be 72 hours yet.

It was my first and last purchase via Steam.  All my Dragon Age titles are on disc or from EA's download service.
