Well, now, I'm royally pissed off. I bought the dlc, and here's the thing, DOWNLOADED it off the social site, and it still says I'm unauthorized... WHAT THE ****.
I hate this bull crap about being thought to be a thief before proven innocent. Seriously, EA, I had ALMOST turned my opinion of you around when you dealt promptly with my ME2 problems....
Now.... I am maaaaad...

Initially I thought that EA ran both the support and the servers, but after several conversations it has come to light that while EA does provide the tech support, the servers are run by Bioware.
EA tech support probably provides support for all EA games (and there are a lot). They are most definitely at a location far removed from Bioware or any game development. And they don't read the forums. I was incredulous that they still had no idea about the server outage on Sunday night when I asked them about that.
The Tier 1 folks you get when you contact them are essentially just a verbal/live chat interface to the information already available on the web at the EA support site.
I'm actually starting to think that Livechat support are nothing more then a bot or maybe Monkeys, I've worked CS and these guys seem pretty clueless

How lovely of them... Note the sarcasm
couldn't they have done this after dealing with the DA:O issue since that is much bigger than the things it is mentioning in that patch for DA2

It has been mentioned hundreds of times in these threads (I know, I've read every post). However I'll say it again. It is unacceptable for a company as big as Electronic Arts to blatantly disregard the time of its consumers for the sake of a flawed system to prevent illegal use of their product. When the cold slapping irony is that those being negatively affected by this system are the paying customers, whereas there is no doubt that those who steal through piracy can in fact enjoy the game.
I want to make the nearly 1,000th post in this Thread alone (Which has only been up since yesterday, considering the problem started over 96 hours ago - Friday), for Bioware and by extension Electronic Arts to please address this situation, regardless the time it will take. A Responsible PR attitude towards your paying consumers is to at the very least respect them by avoiding condescension through omission or disregard.
Thank you.
Thanks to RaenImrahl for your continued Non-Paid Support to our community. Also, friends if be sure to spread the information about this situation to other media outlets to put pressure on EA/Bioware.

EA / Bioware are looking to release online MMO's, they're looking to establish DA as a staple RPG franchise.
Yet this and other issues have shown that they don't hold reliability high.
DA;2 has had from a comment I read elsewhere a non standard return policy from Amazon due to issues.
If I held stock in these companies I'd start to get warry about now.
That if they can fail to keep an established product working, not fix its many problems over many years.
These have baring on the new market it seeks to move into.
The press is already picking up on this now, if not resolved soon it could even hit print.
All for a method that is out dated and not up to the job it was built for in the first place.
I hope they put a lot more effort and vast sums into legal and PR, as Toyota with it's faults shows that even big companies have to bow at some point to the public.
Or they could save money and spend five minutes looking at bugs and complaints on the forum here and fix the broken elements of a product people paid for!

Hi everyone. I have a question about this problem. A buddy of mine, through my recommendation, bought DA:O Ultimate Edition. He did initially authorize the DLC and it all showed ok in game. He has been playing it for the past week or so logged out with I think most of his DLC saying unauthorized. When this issue is resolved, will all the DLC just show up again or are his saves corrupted now that he played with the DLC unauthorized? I want to call him and warn him not to play too much if that is the case.
Thanks.
Once the server is back online, the saves should be fine. Make sure he doesn't delete any, just in case he needs to go back.
If he has been playing logged out since before the sever issue, he should be fine... in fact that's the way I recommend all people play the game from here on out.

I think the Monkeys might actually be more helpful. Still, it's not really their fault. I doubt many are familiar with the products they are supporting.

I assume this is a joke, but you'll never get through to right people. Plus it's after business hours now in North America. And EA's number is not toll free....
Better to continue the pressure via the online gaming media as a whole, as others have suggested. Just my two cents.
