well i knew something was messed up with my version of ultimate anyway..before this fiasco i had to literally log in and out exactly 3 times for the drm stuff to show authorized. i had tried quite a few of the fixes here but nothing had worked thus far. but..i was living with log in-out -in -out -in -out -in and getting it to work..now..of course..nothing works

Just promise one thing guys. You'll not forget this. Many months from now when ME3 comes out or Star Wars etc.., you will always remember this day when you have been fooled and horribly treated by Bioware and EA.

There is ZERO chane we'll forget this.  Any BB touting anything of theirs, I am all over it.  I'll never buy anything of theirs again.

I just picked up a copy of Elder Scrolls: Oblivion.
I've heard it's pretty good.

stori i agree with ur assesment of blizzard, ive been a huge fan of diablo 2 for years, and only wish i still had it, atleast blizzard always addressed issues quickly and effiecently, i like biowares games, im totally addicted to mass effect, and got hooked on this game when i played it on the xbox when it was first released, course that was only a 3 day rental when i played it, that 3 days got me hooked.

but ive had a problem playin campaign, the enemy difficulty, im a lvl 12 dual weilding warrior and pwned everything up till lotheran or whatever the towns called, then suddenly i cant kill anything and by the time i kill 1 enemy off im dead along with all my team mates, is this normal? i dont remember the enemies slaughtering me when i rented it on the xbox.

Lovely. After months of doing other things, of course I choose today to try and play DA:O again, only to find that I'm locked out of my saved games due to this problem. Logged in, collector's edition + a few other bits are "unauthorized".

Please remove this ridiculous mechanic.

I was on the fence about buying it to begin with because of the publisher, but had heard so much good about that I took the risk.

Never again.  This was the first EA game I've bought in over a decade, and it will most definitely be the last.  Perhaps if they were to remove their idiotic DRM BS and make their games playable, I might be compelled... but really, it would probably be best even then not to bite again, lest I get burned.

It is u definaltly got ur moneys worth with that game, hell in morrowind i put in over 1000 hrs, and oblivion is even better.




Oh well i guess ill screw dlc and just play origins and awakening, dunno if those 2 are worth the 40 bucks i spent or not, until the dlc issue is resolved i guess ill continue to feel like i didnt get my moneys worth.

...A scathing indictment of the american education system. You do realize that Civil Servants don't get elected. My gf is a civil servant engineer, she's a hardworking genius with more integrity and work ethic in her little pinky toe than all of corporate America put together. You blame-Americas-government-firsters have no clue how govt actually works. Politicians =/= civil servants. Politicians thrive on NOT getting stuff done, this way when election time comes around they only have to spend enough money to convince the tiny percentage of non-jaded polarized ideological nut jobbers that actually vote that their individual wedge issue (abortion, green energy, gay marriage, shrinking govt, universal healthcare, death penalty, etc) will finally be uncomprimisingly resolved if only they are reelected. In reality civil servants work as well as they can within rediculous constraints imposed by politicians who spend 99% of their time on specialized interest corporate-kickback legislation and the other 1% of their time insuring headline making congressional gridlock prevents any meaningful work that benefits the average voter from ever getting done.

yeah it does, i just bought it and feel cheated.


I guess ill just play origins for the time being, if i cant use my chars in the dlc later, im gonna be so pissed

These are one of the best games you'll get your hands on. The issue here is no the quality of the game. But the flawed implementation of their online DRM check.

yep but only guy available right now is the  freshman college intern and he is working on the unauthorized dlc issue. all other personnel is working on new dlc content

yeah, with dlc, im used to getting it and never having to think twice about it, back when i had money to burn on games i used to get all the dlc i could, but now, i thought i got lucky and got all that with the game, only to find its unaccessable.

EA customer service was useless, they sent me a transcript, also useless, but I was never told that this was a widespread problem, what was being done, etc, etc. I only found out there was a probelm after buying a few newer DLC and then it messed everything up and the entire game (and all my saves since it unauthorized Shale) is dead. I requested my money back and called my credit card company to stop payment due to a defective product. If everyone calls theri credit card carreir to demand stop pay that might get their attention. I'd even do it on any Bioware or EA game, period. That will certianly spread the pain quicker.

Are you sure of this it shows now that I have never purchaced any dlc and all my dlc is unauthorized.

This is what i'm araid of. When ME3 comes out I fear it'll be "all is forgiven" by most gamers. That is until the next time something like this happens and they're all left with an idiotic "How were we to know?" look on their faces.

This sux, my PC Ultimate Edition finally arrived from Amazon yesterday and I was set to finally play the PC version so I can have all the extras not possible on the consoles. Even bought a wireless keyboard and mouse so I have my laptop connected to my plasma and can play it on my bed, lounge etc like with my 360 and PS3 versions.

Yes BioWare, this is the THIRD time I have purchased your wonderful game. Origins/Awakening plus all (real story content) DLC except for Darkspawn Chronicles and the Golems of Amgarrakk for the 360, UE for PS3 a few weeks back and now the PC version. Now I feel like I should take a trip to pirate bay and find a solution so I can play the game I paid for. Please remove this useless DRM once the server issue is fixed!
