To be perfectly honest, I never got too too far into Oblivion when I was playing it before... I started seeing all these people talking about "power builds" and talking about how "any other build except x y x and you suck" blah blah blah. ~sighs~ I like games where you can build your character to suite yourself and it all works fine. That's how AoC is...That's how DA:O is, to a point... That's how WoW is...as long as you don't want to be a raider or run instances in the latest expansion, too! lol ~sighs~
At this point, I'm not sure what I want to play. Not Witcher... I want to be able to be female in the game I play. Oblivion is too...Teen, as far as look (no offense to anyone who loves the game...I'm just a very visual person; thus I like Rated M content games like AoC and DA:O). I never could get into Morrowind/NWN.
blah
Thanks BioWare...

It just keeps getting better and better.
I rebooted my computer, and now the EA download manager (which is how I launch DAO) doesn't even show DAO in my list of installed games. In fact it claims that I suddenly have no games at all.
Funny, 5 minutes ago I had DAO Ultimate, ME2, and DA2.
I just checked my EA download manager, and all my games are gone too. Way to go EA.
But if your games are installed already, you should still be able to find the exe and run it.

DRM run amok: how Bioware and EA are screwing users right now

Get it together Bio/EA.
I'm not feeling very charitable towards you after my DA2: "The alleged sequel that's inferior to an old fashioned expansion,.but priced like a full game", experience. If you seriously think that this is acceptable performance, than you can write of one more actual paying customer.

Meantime, let's have hope for tomorrow... hope that soon, men and women of all nationalities, all creeds, all stations in life can come together as one people, united by our common humanity... that we can set aside our differences, banish war from this world, banish hunger, poverty, need... and play some goddamn DLC....

I sure wish they put off this maintenance/revamp while the DLC authorization haven't been fixed yet....

Hmmm according to the current timetables, stating 2-3 hours i'm guessing means 1-2 days the forums will be down... being 24-48 hours has turned into 5 days with the dlc problem....

I don't. BioWare knew what they were getting in to when they signed up with EA.manik.half wrote...
Part of me feels sorry for Bioware.
All of this is EA's doing. Bioware is just a puppet studio for them, afterall. They would have demanded the DRM and the systems to go with it, so when said systems fail - it lands on Bioware to fix and manage the storm that comes with it.

EDIT: While my game was one of the few not heavily affected (I could play offline) I swear I spent more time in the past couple of days reading this and the Blackout Friday thread. As one of the tech support guys said, Happy Gaming (no, seriously, you can actually do it this time xD)

I'll write myself a note. Let's hope this doesn't become an annual thing, like some sort of Dragon Age Passover....

Babe: You're talking to me?
Christian Szell: Is it safe?
Babe: Is what safe?
Christian Szell: Is it safe?
Babe: I don't know what you mean. I can't tell you something's safe or not, unless I know specifically what you're talking about.
Christian Szell: Is it safe?
Babe: Tell me what the "it" refers to.
Christian Szell: Is it safe?
Babe: Yes, it's safe, it's very safe, it's so safe you wouldn't believe it.
Christian Szell: Is it safe?
Babe: No. It's not safe, it's... very dangerous, be careful.

While all this is over, I'm sad to see everyone go. I'd like to think I got to know a lot of you, but at least with it fixed, we can go back to being the antisocial creatures we were born to be. Maybe we should keep the thread alive in solidarity?
Well... I think we should keep the thread alive... and the "movement" alive in the media to demand a perminent fix. This should never happen again, and we should NOT have to have our DLC reauthorize each time we log into the social network via the game!
