All of this is EA's doing. Bioware is just a puppet studio for them, afterall. They would have demanded the DRM and the systems to go with it, so when said systems fail - it lands on Bioware to fix and manage the storm that comes with it.

I don't.  BioWare knew what they were getting in to when they signed up with EA.

Truth.  There are plenty of nwn players who can't download their premium modules anymore (anyone who bought them, in fact).  Same ol same ol.

Oh, this also means I can install the patch, or at least the tech support guy said that when the servers were fixed, the patch would let me install it.

While I'm certainly happy that this is fixed, EA/Bioware need to understand that this was absolutely unacceptable and cannot be allowed to happen again. A patch must be issued to remove this authentication requirement, particularly for owners of the Ultimate Edition, with the content on disc.

My previous comments still stand, though. The only way they can redeem themselves and earn future money from me is to fix this horrendous implementation of DRM. I have no problems with DRM...but DRM that stops me from playing a single player game because a server somewhere remote is down is unacceptable.

There's a reason I refuse to play Company of Heroes...that would be the reason. v2+ of CoH implemented this sort of DRM (it did NOT have it before). It sent me straight to the "someone else is getting my money from now on" fast train out of town.

I just bought this darn thing the other day because I was tired of a friend telling me how great it was... I was wondering if I'd ever get to play it.

Yes, I did the same.  I suspect there will be a few people posting with additional problems, given all the reinstalling and xml editing that's gone on in the last several days.  Anyone here who can check in tomorrow to help folks would be appreciated.

1) Make sure you're logged in
2) In the "Options" menu, go to the "Online" tab
3) Make sure "Download previously purchased content" is checked.

If you did any XML file editing, the game may assume the content is no longer installed, so it will redownload it.  Just a guess based on limited info.

well they are all enabled and when i got the game the dao updater was already down and i have redeemed code so yea i prolly have to start a new game cause it let me get my blood dragon armor

It's up to you.  The game should resolve any pending downloads given time.  You can also manually install the DLC you need, assuming you have already purchased it once.  If you go to the solutions roundup, linked below in my signature line, you'll see some links a little ways into that post about where to manually install DLC, with instructions.

hmm, The fix did not work for me. I logged in and everything is still unathorized. I have not messed with a thing, so that's not a issue. Sorry Bioware, but the problem is not fixed.

Thanks for the fix and update. Now to get the premanent fix put in and all will be gravy
