Ok this is wierd as h***, when I view my registered games, it list a bunch of crap for Dragon Age II, which I do not have and nothing of what I do have in my profile.

Here it is.

I own none of this stuff. Is EA's data base corrupted or what?

Is this why it is saying my DAUE DLC is not authorized?

I have read a few post saying the exact same thing Vallis. Not good at all IMHO.

Did you register your UE DLC? - Steam gives you 2 CD KEYS. One of them is the Game, (Which you register under games) and the other is the DLC which you register under GAME CONTENT.

After you do that, and if the dauplodoader service is up and running. Then I have very little insight left. Visit Raen's page of solutions: http://social.biowar...8/index/6265850

I did register it and I did not get it through Steam. I bought the box with the 2 DVD's in it and it had only 1 Key, not 2 keys on the papers inside..

These are free DLC's. I think that every guy who made an account here automatically gets these whethere they have DA2 or not.

This is normal Walt. They provided that content to every account.

About your Unauthorized Issue, I am sorry but I ran out of options. If your updater is running as a service, you are logged into the account that has the content authorized, and your keys are all registered, then I can't think of anything, if I do, then I'll gladly give you the scoop.

Its getting to the point these days that when I see a message about a game thats not a MMO requiring a full time connection for the DRM or buying a hard copy ( boxed ) game that has to be registered through Steam and then find out the game is not even on the disk, it has to be downloaded via Steam, ( Fallout New Vegas is a fine example of this bull! ). I just put it down and walk away. They make enough customers mad and stop buying there games, and they will wish all they had was piracy issues when they have hardly any money coming in.

Okay... deep breath.  Your box with the two-disc Ultimate Edition... it had a code key printed on the back of the manual... that was for the game itself.  On an insert, what probably looked like an advertisement, there was a *different* code key... that was for all of the extra content.

Do you still have that code?  If so, go to the menu on the left of this website, under "Profile" and select "Redeem Promo Code".

If you do not, then contact EA support direcctly at support.ea.com and they'll take care of you.

Really I must ask, why would they want to use 2 keys for 1 game in the box. Wouldnt just 1 key have worked just fine. Especially since that key "Only" works for DAUE? I mean honestly, whay gives?

Oh, didn't see this reply of yours. So yes, again you need to register one key under "Games", and the other under "Content" as RaenImrahl said.

Try to look for it again, it's easy to miss, the Ultimate Edition should come with 2 keys, otherwise, as Raen said, contact EA Support.

Be sure you're using the correct login.  Beyond that, same answer-- contact support.ea.com.  You need to talk to the people who made the game, directly.

A quick way to see if your CD key has been registered in Windows or not is to run the Configure utility from the Launcher. Then select Game. Your Dragon Age: Origins key should be there. If you have Awakening there should be an additional key for that as well.

I ran into an issue where for some reason it lost my DA: Origins key after I installed Awakening. There is supposed to be a utility that you can run that will re-register it in Windows for you. It is located on the CD itself in the 'data' folder and is called:

Dragon Age Origins_code.exe OR
Dragon Age Origins Awakening_code.exe

Absolutely - that's why I'm not handling being unable to play the Original game too well.  DA2 was a bit lacking in substance for me.  It was like expecting steak and getting Quorn!  Posted Image

Tell me a bit more about the issue you're having. I'm no expert but I might have a clue. Also mention anything you've tried to fix it so I don't waste any of your time :)

DAO just won't load - I get to the launcher screen, the little egg timer appears, and then the screen goes black and I get a message saying that it's stopped working.  EA support had me update my graphics driver, set the game to run as Administrator, turn off UAC, empty my Temp folder, and then try running the game in compatibility mode - I'm running WIndows 7.  None of it worked, and they haven't come back to me yet.  I had no problems until this server outage struck - from Friday until Sunday I was just getting the same DLC problem as everyone else.  Then the game just stopped loading!  DA2 is running fine, so I'm tempted to think that the problem is not with my PC.  But just in case, as I had downloaded a Windows update, I rolled my system back to a restore point a couple of weeks old, as I knew the game was absolutely fine then.  No joy!  I reinstalled Origins, and that didn't work either.  Have just uninstalled it, and am reinstalling agan, just in case!

Except of course that that was last night, and I fell asleep!   Just completed the reinstall, and it's working!  Though I appear to have lost all of my achievements, and there's apparently no record of my ever having bought any DLC (I bought it all!).  Still at least I can get back to Ferellden!  And thanks for your offer of help, it was much appreciated!

I saved my DLC to a disk - will Bioware's spy software think I'm a pirate if I reinstall Awakening/my DLC from that??

Awesome that you got it to work. I ran into a really weird but similar thing today. After several hours playing through Awakenings all of a sudden all hell broke loose. I was missing graphics, the party select screen was a visual mess, and none of my saves would load without crashing the game. Somehow Awakenings ate itself. Fortunately a reinstall fixed everything,

I don't think Bioware will have any problem with you restoring your content from a backup you made, regardless of how you made it. And they don't actually have spy software, so they'd likely never know either way ;). Other than this post that is. <_<

Quick update before I go for a shower! My DLC is currently downloading, my achievements are back. But Awakening appears to be gone. Never mnd, I'll copy it back from the disk, and see what happens!

I had the same problem with Awakening as you did a few months ago - went to talk to the Seneschal, and everyone's heads disappeared, most of the walls were gone, and my poor Warden was naked!  Posted Image

i bought the ultimate edition of DA:O from game tree (mac platform) when i made my first character all my dlc worked fine but i didn't like the build and restarted, all the dlc turned to unauthorised (around he same time as the server crash) and it is still not working, i have tried the older fixes and such as editing the settings files and that hasn't help, is it because i live in Australia and hence use a different server or something? logging in and out randomly seems to fool the game and lets me load saves but i still have the dlc issue when loading and making characters, please help?

*Awakening is still working however.

This... is happening to me as well. I am also running windows 7 and was having the same DLC problems as everyone else last weekend, now the little wheel just turns and does nothing, until I have to close daorigins.exe using the task manager.

May I draw the attention of someone at Bioware to the fact that there is still no official information about this issue on the german forums!
Believe it or not: there are people in the rest of the world, who do not speak/understand english - still they buy your products and deserve at least the little support you provide here.

This is my fix. I'm surprised it hasn't shown up here yet.

1. Uninstall everything manually (that is, DON'T use the uninstall tool provided). Instructions on how to do that are here: http://help.dragonag...tail/a_id/2072/
One thing I would highly recommend is that if you can't find the
register keys in regedit when it tells you to delete the registry keys,
use the "Find" option located under "Edit" at the top.

2. Reinstall the game. Simple enough.

3. Open the Dragon Age Origins launcher (that thing where you have
to select "Play"). This time, don't select "Play" but click on
"Documentation." Open up the PatchNotes file and it will tell you what
patch is installed. If you have the Ultimate Edition, it should be Patch
1.04 because 1.04 is required to run the Golems of Amgarrak DLC.

4. Restart your computer. After restarting, hit "Windows Key" + "r"
and type "services.msc" and enable the Dragon Age Origins: Content
Updater. This should appear now.

5. If you have patch 1.04 installed DO NOT INSTALL IT AGAIN. This
will result in an error screen when trying to register the game and you
will have to start over from the very beginning. I've installed Dragon
Age 4 times in the past week. It sucks, but the nightmare is over now.

Let me know if this worked for you!

So, here's a question for the gurus around here ...

I actually got my game working before the servers were back up, by following a tip I saw on these forums: I went and grabbed a version of my profile.dap file from before this whole thing happened. Starting while logged out, this allowed me to load old saves, and it showed all my DLC as authorized.

My question, then, is this: Should I just stay permanently logged out? Is there any reason to log in again, or will that just expose me to the risk of borking my game once more? I keep looking at the "Logged Out" prompt in the lower left of the startup screen, and occasionally I get the impulse to log in just to see what happens. At the same time, I figure that this would probably be a very bad idea. Thinking about logging in is like prodding at a sore tooth, though: not a good idea, but hard to stop.

Unless you want to show your achievement or screen shot in your profile there is no reason you ever need to connect to the server once you have all your DLC
