I have my account set to automatically log in, always worked before and was always logged in. But now everytime I start Dragon age it tells me to try to log in again, even though it is supposed to automatically do it. I think there is still some problems connecting to the server.

I am having this problem still with Golems, feast day gift, Stone prisoner, Witch hunt and return to Ostagar. it makes me feel like crying and to make it worse I even unistalled and reinstall and stupidly forgot to take out my mods, overrides and toolset faces. So I am still seriously having this problem and *cries*

The profile thing could be related to the EA Personas... I've never been able to have my characters upload (or screenshots). Only the achievements seem to make it through. - After several days of submitting tickets, finally I had someone at EA this morning solve the Persona issue (Seems I had some DLC at another account) so they merged it. However it did not work, and to worsen things up, during the afternoon my DLCs went mad. So someone at EA disabled the two DLCs and gave me another code for them; then the authorization for my DLC went crazier. And now I'm reinstalling. (aprox. 3 hours) still halfway through. Ah, I love how EA/Bioware has managed to consume hours and hours of my life with this DRM system they have.

Cookie: "Bought Dragon Age!"
Friend: "You bought it? Pfft. I got the 'extended' Demo".
Cookie: "I don't condone that. Especially a company as good as Bioware, with such quality games, the least one can do is sponsor their work".
Friend: "Pfft... what a fool".
Cookie: "Suit yourself, I prefer to have a clear consciousness, and to know I'm sponsoring something I like and deserves it".
***That Same Week Cookie bought her friend a digital copy of the U.E. via Steam***

Please Bioware, don't let me down, fix this DRM issue, I've spent hours and hours with this annoyance and other server-sync related issues. I am a big fan, like many other paying customers - Fix this.

I just went to play, and now everything is unauthorized. Logged out, logged back in, no joy. Frustrating.

Was working fine earlier today.

The reinstall apparently fixed it. For some reason it didn't recognize the Witchcraft DLC and it's redownloading it.... but at least it's better than that Unauthorized nightmare. Point still stands for me; this system is very unpredictable, I don't think I'll be logging back into the game once I fix the Witchcraft DLC...

**UPDATE** Ok. So, I fixed the Witchcraft DLC thing. The problem was a seemingly common "Stuck at Download" bug, resolved by going to the DA Configuration Utility -> Settings -> Repair. And there clear the Download cache. - Problem fixed.

Wow, so many bugs and issues! - Also, a reminder to those who got the UE from steam, you need to download the Service Updater. Check the following link:

http://social.biowar.../58/index/81613

Hope it helps... So, I finally fixed everything (After 6-10 hours...) But it's 5am, so time to head to bed and go to work in a couple of hours! HAH....

I had this authorization issue week ago, but now new one emerged. I've played all DLC's and unlocked most of achievements (only Grim Reaper left) but I can't get these items that I was supposed to get (e.g. Blightblood for finishing Darkspawn Chronicles, Battledress of the Provocateur fo Leliana's Song achievement etc.). When I go to player profile DLC's achievements are shown as unlocked, they even have date when they were unlocked, but their status is still appearing as locked. Anybody have/had this problem, and knows how to resolve it?

Good to hear cookie, grats!!!...I do believe they are working on it, codes take a long time, and I am thinking that because more and more players are coming back with it fixed albeit temporarily, in some cases, that it could be your settings a lil thing you may have done and now overlooked. I doubt the magnitude of players have gone unnoticed..wide scope of problems. I took everything out of my mac that said dragon age, started over...in the options on the DAO screen, where you can load a game or make a new one, I went to options, last page there is a box left hand side, to load all your DLC ect, I checked it, then logged in to my online account in the log in screen, everything was then authorized..ultimate, perhaps that made a difference perhaps not...seems so many are getting their game back, a lil help from the site, and a lil creative manoeuvrings of the players.

SOLUTION

I just bought Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition through EA Download Manager and everything was "unauthorized", even though I redeemed my bonus content code (which is required for everything to work).

Didn't have to reinstall everything!

Run "services.msc"
There should be a service "Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater" initialized and in automatic initialization mode. If not, initialize it and set it to automatic initialization mode.
Run the game, log out and log in again. It should all be authorized now!

If you have errors on initializing the service (like I did) at first or if the service doesn't appear in the list, run "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Electronic Arts\\Dragon Age™ Origins - Ultimate Edition\\__Installer\\DAUServiceSetup.exe". I had a wrong configuration of the service (due to a previous installation) so I had to run that twice: the first time to remove the wrong configuration and the second to install the correct one. Don't forget to initialize the service and to put it in automatic initialization mode before running the game, and don't forget to logout and login again inside the game as well.

Hope it helps!

You can launch it by using the keyboard command:  Windows Key + R

or

*Right* click on the Start Button, select Properties > Start Menu (tab) > Customize and put a check mark by "Run command" to make it appear on the start menu.

This is all fine and dandy, but I've got one other question.

I've just installed U.E, with all the addins, just like you. However, when I open the "Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater", named "DAUPDATER" in my files, it's empty. The program itself works, but it doesn't have any of the content in it, neither ID's nor Content names. I know for certain that the Content is located on the computer in the "Addins" file, but the Game can't find it.

Must be something else. Please, do comment if it's part of the process.

Hello!

I see you are trying to use the content updater program "DAUpdater.exe". That's not what I meant for you to do. In fact, I didn't even know that program existed 'till you called my atention, so I don't know if it's possible to workaround using it.
What I used was the "Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater" service, which is the "DAUpdaterSvc.Service.exe" file in the same folder. But you can't simply run that file. It's a Windows service, that's why you should look for it in the windows services list running "services.msc". When you run "services.msc", it will list all the services registered in your Windows and "Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater" should be one of them (initialized and in automatic mode). If not, try following the instructions I've posted earlier.

Any trouble, just reply.
Best regards!

I've seen this posted before. The problem I have is that I never have this service. I've installed and re-installed several times from EADM and it never appears. I've only actually seen it when installing from the DVD. I'd just about given up on this game but saw a story about the servers being fixed so I downloaded yet again...and it still shows my DLC as unauthorized. :crying:

If any of you are beginning to feel stupid because you think you are the only one who can't get any of this stuff to work, you are not alone. I've tried everything on this forum with many reinstalls, late night chats with tech support, emails, and aspirin. I bought Ultimate Edition 3 weeks ago and have never gotten any of the DLC to authorize and play. My online profile will update and my account shows the content is all registered, the updater service is running (on automatic startup), blah, blah, blah...It's just broke and it ain't fixed, at least not for everyone. I have settled into a routine of playing without the DLC and will contact tech support regularly to share my pain and disappointment (in the politest terms, of course) and request a fix. They say squeaky wheels get the grease....we shall see, So, don't feel too bad and know you are not alone. May the Maker watch over us all.

Running Windows Vista (grimace) 64-bit with new game discs purchased from Amazon,
