No, not for everyone. I have been trying for 3 weeks. The latest effort being an 8-hour failed digital download initiated by tech support. If nothing here works for you, contact tech support. I figure the more people are complaining about this problem, the sooner they might fix it.

I just bought Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition through EA Download Manager and everything was "unauthorized", even though I redeemed my bonus content code (which is required for everything to work).

Didn't have to reinstall everything!

Run "services.msc"
There should be a service "Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater" initialized and in automatic initialization mode. If not, initialize it and set it to automatic initialization mode.
Run the game, log out and log in again. It should all be authorized now!

If you have errors on initializing the service (like I did) at first or if the service doesn't appear in the list, run "C:Program Files (x86)Electronic ArtsDragon Age™ Origins - Ultimate Edition__InstallerDAUServiceSetup.exe". I had a wrong configuration of the service (due to a previous installation) so I had to run that twice: the first time to remove the wrong configuration and the second to install the correct one. Don't forget to initialize the service and to put it in automatic initialization mode before running the game, and don't forget to logout and login again inside the game as well.

Ok so this kinda worked. I did everything that was said in the message, and everything is now authorized... only one problem now. It now tells me when I try to load the other campaigns that its unable to load module. Any idea whats cause that?

my Witch Hunt DLC is saying unauthorized... when i first dowloaded it, it seemed to work except the map wouldnt load after character creation or import. Then it stopped working, i cant even choose other campaign cause its unauthorized now... help ?

I still get the " unautorized". Meaning I can not load autosaves and quicksaves because I need the autorization to play the DLC.
Any idea on how to fix this or when there will be a fix?

I bought the Dragon Age Ultimate Edition on 4/19/11 and then downloaded it. When I started the game all the DLCs that came with the game say unauthorized and I can't play them. I registered the game and the redeemed the code on Biware site but still get the unauthorized error. I even unstalled the game and tried reinstalling. This is really frustrating that I bought this game and am unable to enjoy it to the full extent. Could someone please assit me with this issue.

I have created a group called "Clients with Unresolved DLC Issues - Dragon Age: Origins". The idea is to see if we have critical mass for escalating a response from EA and/or Bioware. If you have unresolved DLC issues with Dragon Age: Origins and want to be counted, consider joining this group. Just search for it in the groups tab.

I am so glad I wasn't the only one this has been happening to. I thought the whole time it was me because I had collectors DAO installed then bought the DAO ultimate collection and switched from the two. It however is still messed up. I also bought DA2 and had that registered as well Mass Effect2 code hasn't been sent and had errors for that. So have to wait 72 hours for that before I know if it worked.

Count me in, too. I purchased the game a week ago and have been struggling getting the DLC working. What a pain! I'm tempted to return it and get my money back.

Well. i haven't been able to authorize my DLC in 6 months so i seriously have no idea what's wrong with Origins and it's DLC.

I chatted with tech support of EA this week and they said it was a malfunction somewhere and they were still figuring out what it was.

What really gets me is when you try and go on a quest it changes every response why you can't do the quest. First you are not arthorized ,then you don't have enough points,server can't connect, you must register CD key ,etc list goes on.I have the collectors edition and the ultimate edition and even have Dragon Age 2 and I can only get the Dragon Armor to work....
I am very disapointed to say the least. I am off to try again...

Called EA customer services about this today, and after they tried everything else this was the method they led me through. And it worked. Other Campaigns available, and Sulchers Pass pops up as a quest as soon as the cutscenes and dialogue finish at the start of your Origin Story in a new Game.

It took three phone calls, but they paid for two of them. They made it clear that this 'Was really a hack' (because you're effectively turning the security check OFF. But if that lets you run the content you've already paid for then so be it.

I have gotten mine to work. I don't know if I did it or they fixed it. I came to realize that when I installed it wasn't connected to the internet at the time. Even though I log in it still didn't work. So I ran the game and they have a button that says, "configure" It is the same place that has the play button when you first start the game. Anyway go into the configure button and you will see a chart way at the top there is a tab that says system and you just deactivate it but in reality its active to automatically connect you in the game when you play. I did that and ran the game and the whole world opened up. Everything became enabled and worked. I don't know if I did it on my own but who cares it works now

I hope i didnt pay 50€ for nothing, just bought Dragon age Origins:Ultimate Edition today, and all DLC says Unauthorized... would be great to play those DLC:s but for some reason i cant, i can get to guy who talks about golems, but when i try to get the rod from him there is one option with "Downloadable Content" and when i press it, it goes to login screen, but im logget into my account all the time..

EDIT:

when i log in after game promps me to, it says i dont have enough points to redeem that DLC, but why would i need points to redeem it if i just bought it.

Also it seems that only my Dragon Age: Origins Awekening CD works, from normal DA:O and Ultimate Edition (both CD 1 and CD 2) it says that i need to insert correct CD

Is it still not working for anyone else other than me? It now doesn't give me the "unauthorized" message when I try to load a save, but it still says so in the "downloadable content" section, and whenever I try to talk with that guy from the warden's keep dlc I can't acept his request...

EDIT: nvm, just tried doing what cadim sugested, and I think it will work now. Next time I will double check the thread before posting.

For me it worket when i pressed windows button + R (or go to RUN) and type services.msc and then find "Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater" and right click to it and "start"

Got switched from having the DLC working, authorized to "Unauthorized" after switching my password. Guessing it might have something to do with interserver communication, though then the password switch shouldn't work.

So I have a character effectively locked because it has DLC on its save. Wasted a few hours mailing support (which yielded a "I dunno, check forums" response) and reinstalling. The latter has made it worse - now I don't even see DLC at all, despite being connected. Trying one last thing, then I'm giving up on it.

So far the only thing I've come away with from this is the thought that EA should get some properly trained support personnel and that they should patch this DRM abomination away and go with whatever their solution was for Mass Effect 2, the labyrinthine hoops that involved at least worked once you got your DLC installed.

Edit: Well, Chokladglass's guide worked, apparently. We'll see.

Edit II: Well, worked until the game was quit, then it was backed to not-checking the server about this here authorization business. Swell.

well i did what support told me to do go to the add in file and change all the authorized 1 to 0 well the people show up i the game but the areas and items wont show so i cant do any of my dlc fix it bioware plz

I am getting fed up with this.
I really like the game but I have been trying to download purchased content for almost a month.
I followed all the instructions on these blogs and now I am re-downloading content I already have installed (That is really stupid check to see if files have been extracted and installed first not a list of editable XML).
Now I cannot not even play the game because it is constantly being installed.
To make matters worse I now get installed content telling me it is unauthorized.
I have had this game for well over a year and it amazes me that they cannot resolve this issue.
Pretty soon I am going to be asking for a refund.....
