Hey y'all,

I just finished up Redcliffe and was then found out you may be able to heal NPC's which would greatly affect the outcome of that quest.   Anyone know if this is true and if so can it be done on the console version (xbox).

Thanks in advance!

Mages have a heal spell that you use to heal party members. Just put it on the hotbar and click it and target the injured party member.

To be clear, for the XBOX cast "Heal" the spell with either the Radial menu or off the quickslots. This should pause the game, and you should see a "Heal" with 'A' beside one of your character portraits. Move this to the target you want, and the mage should cast heal on that target.

Let me know if you still have problems.

I have all my party members set to quaff a potion when they reach %25 health on their tactics screen. Usually my party's mage (Wynne) will heal them up, or cast regen/lifeward, etc before they get to that point, but if not they will use a potion*.

* - provided you are carrying the appropriate potions in inventory :)

Thanks folks but I meant NPC's as in the townsfolks, not my party members.  Is there anyway to heal them while they fight (rather, die).  I'm a mage with heal and I have wynne.  Maybe revive could work but I doubt it.  I guess I'll let them bite the dust.

i'm starting to think that this healing villagers is a myth.  Sorry about the confusion.

Ah I see!

I believe that, due to the targeting mechanics on the consoles, you are not able to case your heal spells on the villagers.

Sorry for the confusion!

On the PC I was able to heal important NPCs (bBAnns, Sers and such). But I haven't tried on rank-and-file soldiers.

Yes, due to the differences in how the heal spell works, this is a difference between the console versions, and the PC versions.

To prevent further confusion though, I will move this thread to the new XBOX tech support forum.

Is this on the console.  I find targeting to be a nightmare on the console.  Also, often I command my members and they do not do the command.  Quite frustrating to put in the effort to command all party members each turn to have them ignore you half the time.

But as for your question, I do not know for I have yet to get forcefield.

While paused (and possibly when not, I haven't tried) you can change target with the D-pad. Your current target will show name and health bar above their head. Since Force Field isn't an ally only spell I would imagine you might have to target allies in this way to cast it on them.

Just how do you target on the 360?

Like I said you can change target with the D-pad. Consoles have auto targetting though so if you don't do anything you will auto target to the nearest mob.

This one is a winner if used right in just that one situation. Just saying if its not possible then u should have it made possible. I have it for PC.

Wynne's cleansing aura works wonders for this.
