So because of the whole server down thing, I only barely managed to get my new DLC (RtO) working, I can go to bann Loren's lands and accept the quest, but when I try to travel to Ostagar, it gives me an error "cannot load area" then dumps me to the title screen. Does this have to do with the *.xml editing that I had to do to get it to work at all?

Have you tried re-downloading it again? and installing it again? And what server down thing?

You're really wasting time with a WAG like that. The piggy-back "Me, Too" probably doesn't really have anything at all similar to the same problem; there is just no way to respond to a nothing type comment such as this latest one, not without real DATA.

1- The OP's issue was almost certainly due to the "xml editing" s/he did as that is a known problem with editing the addins.xml file to not require authorization.
