And if so, how could you?

Sure, I wanted to put her to the sword myself, but when she started blubbering and begging repeatedly for her life, and when she sang like a canary when I questioned her... I couldn't do it.  Could you?

Are your hearts so black?

I killed her the first play-through (rogue) but let her live this play-through (mage).

I was surprised that letting her live gave me +5 rivalry with Isabella. I expected her to want me to be merciful towards Idunna.

That surprised me at first, but then I realised that everybody except Merrill auto-hated anyone even remotely attached to Blood Magic. Save sexy Hawke, of course.

Of course I did, and always do. Her begging only makes it more delicious.

I kill her every time. For the exact reason Isabela approves.

She tried to kill you without mercy using Blood Magic. Crying about failing doesn't change her intent. Who knows who else she did that on?

I'm curious *spoilers*

Having Anders with me on the first play-through let him help me out when she was doing her magic hypnosis trick, and then in my second play-through as a mage I was able to stop her myself.

Are you able to stop her regardless of your class and do any of the other companions ever come into play here?

I haven't killed her yet. She seems too weak to be too much of a threat, and by that point in the game my Hawke wasn't as against Blood Magic as he'd later be. It just seems like a waste, so I gave her to the Templars.

@Ashley. You need a mage in your party to avoid killing her. Either MageHawke will break the spell themselves, or Anders/Beth/Merril will.

Bethany tore her a new one for me.

@ Ash - Try it as a Warrior/Rogue. Suffice it to say, Idunna doesn't have much time to beg.

To the rest of you - So many heartless!
Is there no room for forgiveness? Anyone can be seduced by crime at a young age. She begged for her life 3 separate times! Yet you can look her straight in the eyes and snuff her out like a candle?
That's cold. That's some cold cheese. ;)

Bethany, Merrill and Anders get an assist option during that scene. But I do love how she was basically going to mind control you to slit your own neck. Then you get sympathy for her and want to let her live? Plus yeah Apostitutes is great. I love her giggle as she said it.

I spared her once because I figured her being under templar supervision would hypothetically stop her from doing that to anyone else, however my character would have been perfectly justified in killing her, and her pathetic bleating for mercy had nothing to do with my decision.

Sparing Idunna felt a lot like sparing Marjolaine. Yeah, it's an option, but we all know violence is the only solution.

It's not like I'm advocating letting her off scott free. Send her to the Circle, let the Templars deal with her. That might even be more cruel than killing her.

But at the same time, just seeing her begging.... by then you've won. You're big and strong and immune to her powers, and she's helpless and literally shaking. You've got to have a heart of stone to just out-and-out kill her at that point. =D

I stabbed her good after prevailing in mental combat.  I didn't ask Bethany for help; I was incensed and proud to meet an emergency and besides that would look weak.

However, now that I metagame it, I can add a layer of thinking on to that, take things a step further, and say - well, we need information about these evil blood mages and Idunna'd be more useful alive, if Bethany can step in and resolve this without bloodshed that would be the better.  Before I stab the **** out of her

I've both killed her and left her for the templars. I prefer killing her. How DARE she try to use her wiley magics on my Hawke!? :P

I slew her with some blood-Magic of my Own. She is no match for a True Master of Blood!

She's too dangerous. She dies.

Templar supervision couldn't keep a toddler under control, let alone a blood mage.

Hell yes I kill her.

My biggest decision there is usually whether I want to handle it myself or let Beth do the talking.

I killed her. There are many times in DA2 where I felt conflicted about killing someone, but I'll just say Idunna was not one of the more difficult choices.

I thought the companion mage interventions all felt a bit... flat. Needed more... intensity. Maybe Anders could have gone all super saiyan Vengeance on her.
