Mass Effect 3 timeline plot hole?

"Only a few months have passed since the suicide mission to take out the Collector base, but members of the Alliance are still hesitant to believe Shepard's tale of an immient attack of the Reapers."
This information leads to the fact that ME3 will take place in 2185 which is essentially still two years after ME1. Because of the immediate nature of ME3, I would assume that ME3 takes place over the course of a few weeks, maybe no more than 2 weeks as anything longer would seem like over kill and slightly unrealistic.
With that being said, this presents some concern because the USA Today comic Mass Effect: Inquisition takes place in 2186, which is presumably after the events of Mass Effect 3.
Maybe this is the plan for the comic to be post ME3 but I (as well as many others here) have assumed that this comic like most ME comics/novels have taken place BEFORE ME3. The tone of Inquisition seem to set the idea that everything is pre-ME3, not a galaxy that has been torn apart by the events of ME3.
Am I looking too deep into this or could ME2 possibly took place around November 2185 with ME3 kicking off somewhere around March 2186 and the Inquisition comic taking place around Jan/Feb of 2186?

[hyperbole] Tie-in material is the cancer that is ruining fiction as a whole [/hyperbole]

If you forget to factor the ME2 story is a

This is the stupid crap I'm talking about. ME-2 was a year long? That's the shortest year in the history of years, also it makes the squad 10 times worse, the lack of interaction was acceptable when it was a short mission with a bunch of people there for Shepard but when you expect us to believe that they never interacting in a YEAR...ugh. Screw side material, screw it long and hard.

ME1 story timespan is a year long too and the game was shorter. Remader, plot has the power to change days into months into years.Bamboozalist wrote...
Who cares? I wish Bioware would ignore all side material and just make it so if it doesn't happen in the games it's not canon. I get enough convoluted BS from the Star Wars extended universe I don't need it in my Mass Effect.

If you want a scientific reson why the game take place in a year, the clear answer is space travel and fast than light travel. Any object traveling at the speed of light, time is slowned down for that object. That means the universe stays at normal time, while any fast than light ship that is going faster than light stops aging and time is slown. So a man can live to 2000 years if he's flown 1000 light years away at the speed of light and back. Meaning a year is shorter for space travelers. What makes the trips in space shorter is the relays. They cut a thousand year trip to a matter of days, weeks of months but still time is slowed down for the space ship if it uses the relays due to being shot fast than the speed of light.

We don't know when exactly ME2 started in 2185, but at least LotSB happened after July because Tela Vasir was still alive then according to the Cerberus News.
The CDN also confirms The Arrival story happened after January 2186 because Kenson was still alive then. Shepard can choose to go after Kenson before the suicide mission, so we can assume some events of ME2 happened could have happened in 2186.
The GI article says ME3 starts a few months after the SM. The game could easily be set in late 2186 with Inquisition and Retribution taking place earlier in the same year.

That makes sense. "What was Shepard doing in between being revived and doing the Arrival DLC", you ask? Probably deleting all of his spam messages, and asking Garrus if he has a second to talk. I'd say, in terms of loose canon (obviously some of this changes depending on your personal playthrough):
Shepard dies: 2183.
Shepard is revived and starts recruiting his team: July - September 2185. (I know Cerberus Daily Reports mention things as early as February, but that doesn't work. Shepard was dead for 2 years 12 days, and so for that to work, Mass Effect 1 must have taken place in January 2183. I'll assume those reports are older, archived things that have been sent to Shepard in order to catch him up on recent events.)
Shepard saves half of that place: October 2185.
Shepard board that place: October 2185.
Shepard boards that other place, installs that thing, and the thing happens: November 2185.
Shepard attacks that big place: November 2185.
Shepard helps Liara: December 2185.
Shepard helps Amanda Kenson: January 2186.
Retribution and Inquisiton take place: January-April 2186.
Mass Effect 3 begins: April/May 2186.
That...actually works quite neatly. It allows Mass Effect 1 to take 6 months, January-June, then one month passes and the Collectors attack the Normandy in July. Skip 2 years and 12 days, and it's July 2185. ME2 proper then takes 5 months, with LotSB bringing that up to 6 and Arrival topping it off at 7.

As long as ME3 takes place no earlier than 2187, the timeline should be fine.
