My pics for the ultimate DA dream team:

- The Warden (as PC)
- Morrigan (by far the most interesting and loveable character in the DA universe)
- Wardens Dog (did the dog go through the Eluvian mirror with Warden and Morrigan? I'm assuming he did)
- Varric (as narrator)
- Isabella (just imagine the catfight party banter between her and Morrigan - it would be epic)
- Anders (as annoying as he is, he's the kind of loose cannon that makes interesting things happen)

- Morrigan
- Alistair
- Sten
- Nathaniel
- Bethany (Grey Warden)
- Merrill
- Varric

With both Cousland and Hawke leading the charge. Morrigan for obvious reasons, seeing as Cousland is off in mirror world with her, and Alistair so that the death-defying Brothers Grey can reunite. Nathaniel and Bethany only make sense since Cousland would be their Warden-Commander, and I'm also shipping them pretty hard. Then the Hawke contingent, with Merrill being her LI and having he eluvian connection, and Varric to shoot stuff and continue his biographies. That leaves Sten to up the deadpan quotient to deadly levels and get us some more choppaz.

Odd men out are Arianne and Finn from WH. I loved both of them, but there's just not enough room. Dunno, maybe Hawke and Merrill go to them to help get the Warden and Morrigan out of mirror world.

My picks would be:
- Leliana (ranged rogue)
- Isabella (melee rogue)
- Velanna (DPS mage)
- Bethany (support/healer mage)
- Sten (2-handed warrior)
- Loghain (SnS warrior)

Only one of these I would consider replacering is Loghain, but I can't really imagine another SnS warrior (Alistair and Aveline are the only choices, but I don't feel particular for either of them. Cassandra would be preferred to fill the spot, but you excluded her)

If Anders doens't die Sebastian's presence must be clearly supported.
Final Hawke's desition would mark the future of Anders, staying with the champion or come back to the warden...
Fenris's past is brightly rich in adventures on Tevinter Imperium against Orlais, means Leliana.

I mean, is not easy choosing any companion without counting every act of the champion in every different game played....

The other key to companions is that if DAIII follows the same path as DAII, then the party choices will likely conform to a 1/archetype convention... As in, one DW rogue, one archery rogue, one damage mage, one healer, etc...

<snip>

Following that logic and assuming a new PC (with mentions of Hawke, legends of the Warden), these are my predictions...(and wants for the most part *sheds tear for Fenris, Merrill, and pre-Justice Anders*)

Warriors -
- 1H - Cullen! or Carver (probably for plot purposes...<_<) or New Character
- 2H - Sten (surely after the Qunari incident he'll be around) or Cassandara  (She's on the hunt after all, they can't phase her out)

Rogues -
- DW - Dwarve Shale or Sigrun
- Bow - Sebastian or Nathaniel or New Character

Mages -
- Healer - Finn (expert on Tevinter, huh? Handy since we're prolly going there next)
- Damage - Velanna (how's your sister's corruption going?) or Morrigan's demon baby or Bethany (again probably for plot purposes...[smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/angry.png[/smilie])

Hound -
- Posessed Sir-Pounce-a-lot

I didn't even try for balance-- these are just the characters who I either wanted to see more of for curiosity's sake, or who I utterly adored and can't imagine journeying without.  I wish I had room for Loghain...

Nathaniel <-- for more bed-warming

Alistair <-- for comic relief
Fenris <-- he's a one-man army

Morrigan <-- as my BFF sidekick

Almost none.
Their stories have been told and they shouldn't be in the next games as anything other than side plots.

Ditto the Warden.

Not the case with Hawke, but he hasn't had a story told about him. DA2 is the story of Qunari vs Kirkwall and Mages v Templars. Hawke's role is peripheral.

Expansion sets aside, I'd rather Bioware let Hawke be.

It's hard to say who I'd like to cameo in the next game or, indeed, who I'd like to see again as a companion. It really asks the question of how we can introduce them into the game world for good reason.

Orlais sounds like an interesting place and it's a good tie-in for Leliana's cameos (if any).
Ominous hints about the stone living beneath Orlais also hint at Orlais being featured in a future game.
It's hard to say who the next PC will start as and how, so, in turn, it's hard to say who should feature without making this a popularity contest.

The exception is Morrigan who may feature as a key plot figure in the next game given that her story is unfinished. Eluvian contacts are now up to 2  (3 if you count the Dalish Warden) so who can say what will happen next on that front.

Cullen seems like a natural choice for a future companion in DA3 but he does'nt fall in the topic heading. Still, he's been through two DA's now and he's still kicking. Also, he's sided against and for the mages. Makes him complex. Lastly, the fangirls might like him.

In my dream DA3, we'll be playing as the Warden and Hawke will end up being a party member. So imagine the story from there:

Leliana - she's one of two characters that they've canonized as being alive, and apparently having a big role in things.
Morrigan - (i think) the only party member who was unkillable in Origins, and had a major role. And is currently in Orlais, if the game takes place there.
Isabella - I think was the only unkillable party member in DA2, other than Varric. And it would just be cool if she was in every game.
Alistair - the only way you can confirm his death from Origins is if he killed the archdemon (he could have escaped execution!), which I think was probably one of the least chosen endings (i could be wrong) - so most people probably have him alive in some form or another, and he seems the type who would get involved.
Sten - it would be nice to have a Qunari in the party again.
Merrill - just cos my cannon character's a Dalish warden and I think itd be cool to meet again.
Varric - cos he can't die in DA2, and most people seem to love him, so it'd be silly not to bring him back.

Returning companions:
  • Morrigan/Flemeth Since their epic clash is imminent and inevitable,I think we might come to make a decision of whether to side with Morrigan or Flemeth.
  • Leliana She is the Sister Nightingale of Divine force,so that definitely earns her a spot as a potential companion.
  • Anders Depends on your action in Dragon Age 2,he might play an important role in the next sequel,as he is one of the main reason why Kirkwall is in chaos.
  • Varric Tethras Seeing his involvement in Dragon Age 2,he will make reappearance and continue his story-telling in Dragon Age 3.
  • Sten Although he returns to his people at the end of the story,he still plays an essential role in ending the Blight in Fereldan.Seeing the war between Tevinter Imperium and the Qunari is taking place,I think he will return for sure.
  • Natheniel Howe/Oghren/Bethany/Carver Grey Wardens always play a part in Dragon Age story.
Possible new companions:
  • Feynriel Depends on your action in Dragon Age 2,his unique dreamer magic will make him a potential ally in Dragon Age 3.
  • Morrigan's child A powerful force,powerful ally.
  • Connor Almost a decade has passed in Dragon Age 2,Connor must be an outstanding mage by now, that will make him a great ally as well.
Main characters:
  • Hawke
  • Warden Commander
  • Brand new character
3 different origins to be played in Dragon Age 3 ;)

Hadn't thought of these. Very interesting ideas there... :o

What Origins?

Piggybacking off that idea...
  • Qunari turned Tal-Vashoth
  • Rivaini (Possessed) Seer
  • Llomerryn (Dalish?) Seafarer / Archelogist (the Arlathan Forest is right there!!)

If Hawke is the main protagonist:

Merrill (I romanced her, so I feel she needs to return)
Varric (He's in a bromance with Hawke)
Sten (I have a feeling he'll be the new Arishok)
Anders (obvious story reasons, assuming people let him live. Otherwise, some new character or your Grey Warden sibling I guess)
Isabella (her new ship seems like the most likely way for everyone to escape Kirkwall)
Arianne (no real reason)
Finn (he's travelling with Arianne now)
Cassandra (I know we're not supposed to include her, but I seriously see her being a party member)

If the Warden is the protagonist:

Morrigan (romanced her, did the OGB ritual, and went through the Eluvian with her)
Leliana (also romanced her. What can I say? My Warden loves them both)
Female Tal-Vashoth Warrior
Fenris (now that he's free from Danarius, he's seeing the world on his own terms)
Alistair (it's his best buddy!)
Connor (the Warden helped him, and he feels he owes him a debt)
Cassandra (again, she's got potential. Plus I see her being a companion anyway)

New protagonist (Maybe a Seeker?):

Velanna (romanceable)
Nathaniel (romanceable. If you don't romance him or Velanna, he romances Velanna)
Silas Corthwaite (from Leliana's song.)
Cassandra (romanceable)
Varric (romanceable)
Sigrun (we need some perky dwarven goodness)
Feynriel (he has mastered his powers, and can help greatly in the Mage war)

Personally, I see DA3 playing out as the Warden and Hawke return and side with whatever side Hawke sided with, which the Seeker is a part of. Then, an army forms, and you can choose to play either as your Warden, Hawke, or a new character. But all three groups will be seen in the army and you'll be operating out of a main army camp. Does that make sense? I'll try to explain it better if it doesn't.
