So I got my Mass Effect 2 by EA Game Download Manager, and then I found out that my DLC cannot install, like many others, it says the game is not installed...

After trying ways I found on other posts, which never work for me, I found it is caused by the EADM...

So here is the problem: the EADM named the game path some thing like:

E:\\Electronic Arts\\Mass Effect™ 2

The TM sign is not an English character, not supported by the DLC installer, this is why it reports errors even when you put the installer directly under the game path.

Here is the solution:

1. Find you game path, delete the TM sign, in my case it changes to E:\\Electronic Arts\\Mass Effect 2

2. Go to regedit, find your Mass Effect, which will be:
        HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 2      for 32bit

        HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Wow6432Node\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 2      for 64bit

3. Change the path of your registry, which means delete the TM signs too.

4. Now the DLCs should be able to install.

5. In order to keep everything correct, change back your game file path and registry.

Just simply copy and paste this ™ back:D

Bioware and EA: do not put any non-English sign if you don't support it!

My install path does not contain the TM sign but the DLC will not install.
I think it is directly related to EA since I kept all my original game files and DLC. I had no problems installing and re-installing before EA introduced Origin. Now I can only install the game by re-downloading through Origin and the DLC will not install.
