The three best vocal tracks in Dragon Age. Which one do you prefer?

I love them all, but I personally would settle for Rogue Heart. The opening with the lyre gets me every time. Neither of the two other songs are far behind either in terms of quality, I might add.

I would love to see more vocal tracks in DA3. They probably take more effort to produce, but Inon Zur and Aubrey Ashburn do them really well - and these tracks are the best songs in both soundtracks.

Actually, I prefer the instrumental version of Leliana's Song over the vocal version. The instrumental version is worked in so well throughout the game, whenever there's a tender moment. I love it. :D

As far as vocal songs go, I like Love Song from Origins best. It's a gorgeous piece. If I have to pick among the three you've mentioned, I'd say I like I Am the One best. It's got a nice atmospheric quality to it while still being very epic.

I like Mage Pride the best actually, but if I had to pick one of the three named by the OP, I would say I Am the One.

Honestly, I have to pick none of the above. ::ducks::

I have to cast my vote for Mage Pride. It's so beautiful and powerful, and I liked hearing something that wasn't 'elvish' sounding. Mage Pride seems to have a basis in a different language and the feeling behind it is just incredible. :)

None of the above.

Frankly, I really don't like any of the vocal tracks from either game.

I think Mage Pride is well done. I think that the theme for Fenris was used a bit too much in the game though. But it is good. So I'd probably say it's the best overall. I Am the One Dark Fantasy was also very good.

Personally,

One of the best tracks is no vocals at all. The Qunari on the Rise.

Well just a light amount of all male choir in it. but that doesn't count.

Well, if we're restricting the discussion to the best pieces in DA2, I'd say Hawke Family Theme, followed closely by Rogue Heart.

Music in both games is "meh" at best. That said, this comes from a person who loves music in Prince of Persia: Warrior Within and Splatterhouse, so it's probably just not to my taste. If anything, I liked "Endless wave of hurlocks" track.
Well, and if you ask which of 3 named in OP tracks I prefer that would be I Am the One. Epic, sad, beautiful. Rogue Heart is just dull, and Leliana's song makes me wanna vomit.. Kinda, one of reason I haven't even recruited her on my "main" playthrough and killed in many other playthroughs. Yes, she came back to life in DA2, but we have no shortage of garlic and stakes.
P.S. Out of DA2 soundtrack I like "I'm not calling you a liar" credits song best, but it's not included in OST that comes with SE. Bummer.

Yeah.  What is up with that?

I wish the music from the Destiny trailer were in the soundtrack too, but it isn't... : (

I had to find... other ways to acquire the "I'm not calling you a liar" version from the credits. Honestly, if they just sold it I'd buy it. I dislike the original song but love that version of it.

I love them all as well, but Leliana's song remains my favorite to this day. All of the songs with vocals give me goosebumps though. They are so powerful.

If I had to put my favorite songs in order, it would go like this.

1. Leliana's Song
2. Destiny Of Love
3. I Am The One (High Fantasy Version)
4. Mage Pride
5. Party Camp (Origins)
6. Love Theme (Origins)
7. Rogue Heart
8. Fenris Theme
9. I Am The One (Dark Fantasy Version)
10. Love Scene (DAII)

Any music with chanting brings out something primal in us. It's why we react so strongly to these songs.

Mage Pride and Fenris Theme seem to have the same vocals in some parts. Same goes for Destiny of Love and Love Scene.

All the other songs on the soundtrack for Origins and DAII just don't match up to the ones I listed. They are ok, but I find myself constantly replaying these songs on my iPod.

According to the credits they had for the Demo. They called the track Varric's theme. But yeah basically the vocals added to Inon Zur's symphany

I don't think the version with vocals is in the game anywhere, but the intro is the same as Fenris' theme.  Same key even, G minor.

Only the credits though it is mostly Fenris' theme trumped heavy with some vocals added to it. Just like how they added I am the One which has 2 different versions only played during the credits. Leliana's song was sung by her in camp at least.

There is a lot of tracks they have on the DA2 soundtrack that aren't in game. Another being Destiny Of Love. They have a separate song for the actual love songs in game. Basically there is the love theme and then Destiny Of Love is the same song with added lyrics. Not in game besides endless credits time.

There is a lot missing from the Soundtrack as well. For example Isabela's love scene is a unique track they didn't give us. I would have liked to hear how a flushed out version of it would sound.

Yeah, I got in a debate with someone on YouTube over the appropriateness of it using Fenris' theme, in fact...

I basically think they reuse alot of the stuff a bit in the soundtrack for these bonus themes. Why I like the ones like Qunari On The Rise that basically do their own thing. The rest are well done but just are like soundtrack pieces and not part of the game. At the end of Qunari on the Rise I remember Orsino victoriously distracting the Qunari so Hawke and crew could into the keep.

I thought Isabela's love scene used the Tavern Music track. (starting at 0:49)

Ah okay. That is what I get for usually skipping what sounded like a mash of sound music. Combat and regular.

I contended that the mages being referred to were the Tevinter Magisters, and that Fenris is the "pride" of said mages.

I think Destiny of Love is a Tevinter love song to then. It definitely doesn't sound like Elvish and it sort of hints at the whole Fenris chord work. That guy must get around.

Hm, yeah, it is a bit like Fenris' theme, isn't it? A lot more subtle about it, though.

Destiny of Love appears to use the same language as Mage Pride, which means it's probably Tevinter, but I don't think it's very much like Fenris' theme.

Why I like stuff like Qunari on the Rise or Innocent Blood that feel more like something out of movie than these ones for the credits that almost are just meant to sell an album.

I get the feeling though that Fenris' theme was used the most though. Why I just was less thrilled with the bonus tracks. I felt like I kept hearing the same thing.
