I ran away with anders, my companions came with me... and the chantry is hunting me and the warden? with leliana's help? that was leliana right? So she was a spy for the chantry the whole time?
Or did they just make some random chantry lady look and talk just like her to confuse me??
And how drastically doest the ending change if you fight with the templars? I think I'm going to go back and do that. It seems complicated if a mage uprising (and possibly something bigger) does or doesn't break out depending on which ending you choose... or more work for Bioware at least...
The game had me captivated the whole time. And I didn't find it hard to side with the mages. I think the templars are just as bad, if not worse. I mean, they were disappearing people, for god's sake.
so I finished the game... (storyline questions - spoilers)

The only real difference if you support the templars is you become the viscount for a time then disappear and Leliana is still looking for you (though I should say Hawke instead of you since Hawke never really felt like he/she was "my" Hawke IMHO) and the Warden with Cassandra.

Supposedly both the Hero and Hawke are missing. Cassandra is looking for Hawke and Leliana is looking for an old ally. Many think that means the hero.

Well, Lelaina said "The same as the Warden. That is no coincidence." So Lelaina is pretty clear about thinking that the Warden has been caught up in something to. They want to find Hawke because they feel Hawke is the only one who can help keep back the world from falling into war because others will listen to him/her. And both of them disappearing is pretty suspicious considering the things they...in the character's eyes anyway... accomplished. We can say that Hawke really didn't do much but Hawke's LEGEND is alot bigger than that.

Well "the Warden" is a loophole to the Warden Commander if the Hero made the ultimate sacrifice. Since the ending part plays with or without Awakening imports.
