Acceptance. At first I was like, no, it can't be that bad, I just have to try to like it, then I was angry that my favourite franchise has been gutted in the worst possible way, now I have accepted DA2 as what it is, the mediocre follow up to my favourite game. I'm also glad I only rented it, and am right now running through Origins with a brand-new mage trying out this new built I've dreamt up...

You know, denial, anger, acceptance.

I know a lot of you guys were in the Denial phase before the game came out (look at all those funny necroposts!) and after the first few weeks, then I've seen a lot of you join me in the Anger phase. Some are even in the Bargaining phase, no wait thats Bioware giving free games for this one...Do you guys think we'll reach acceptance soon, that Bioware is a necrotized zombie and the RPG legacy they championed during their life is gone? If we support each other we can get through that Depression stage before the Acceptance without destroying our lives...I believe in us.

I am quite happy by now.

Being fed up with DA2 I replayed Rome - Total War instead and found just what a freaking good game it is.
Besides, i beat the campaign in one day. I´m kinda proud of me, considering that the last time I stopped playing after several weeks of playing and still not winningB)

I'm at the stage now where I either have to help connor out by having Isolde die for the blood magic ritual, or just plain kill Connor...i decided to hold off for now since I do have the mage tower option (Wow! Options! I like games with options...) so i need suggestions on what stage I should do next? maybe hit up the DLC? soldier's peak? return to ostagarr? go to the Dalish camp? maybe go to the mage tower and get the fade over with and also have another option for the connor quest line? (AGAIN! OPTIONS!!! OMGWTFDA2!!) so anyway...where should I go next?

I should do an LP of DA:O with the stipulation being that users on the forum vote on what race, class, origin, name, weapons and armor, where to go, how to respond...etc...would be an interesting yet lengthy concept.

I liked doing the DLC prior to story, but where go after that changes based on how I feel at time. Though always tended to leave the Connor situation till after Mages tower because gave extra options. Soldiers Peak should do soon because takes time for it to build back up after complete it, if choose options towards having ownership yourselves with the NPCs staying and helping you there instead of some other of the options.

aaahh reminds me of when ME2 came out
and i still think its crap compared to mass effect :/

i never liked dao so i don't care ...

I don't consider ME2 crap, but I do believe ME1 is hands down, without argument a better game overall.  Especially the Story and RPG elements of the gameplay.

ME2 is a story driven linear cover shooter, and

the "story" was "Brah, go get some more brah dawgs and brah dawg it up, Oh, and nail some hawties while you're at it, just watch out for the crazies, oh and brah, SHOOT SOME CRAP and hide in Pick up trucks. LULZ rememberz me from Half Life/ X-Files?  You brah, you got a light?"

It is an old argument, along with calling us old times, elitist haters who can evolve with the new swingin' times, that those of us who object to DA2 just want DAO again (or two archdemons stapled together for an epic Blight).  Those are lame tissue paper arguments. I don't even bother.  And don't get me started on the other arguments against people who do like it. Seriously, neither position on the game makes the other brain deficient.

Me, I didn't like DA2 all that much. Struggled with one playthrough trying to convince myself to do a second with a mage...just so I can do magic in front of Templars and not get hauled off to the Circle.

The irony being I get called a "stupid console kiddz" for being a PS3 player, and a "old timer who can't accept change" for liking DAO way more than DA2

I AM BENJAMIN BUTTON of gaming apparently :wizard:

You know, SOME PS3 and X360 players are actually intelligent. They just, sadly, seem to be the minority.

As I said somewhere else: If you ARE one of the minority, you should join us making fun of the Sandals giving you console players a bad name.

Sometimes I think I should cross back over to PC gaming for the mods (XBox and PS3 player, myself), but I just can't pull myself away from the comfy couch and big arse tv... that and I sit in front of a PC all day long for work.

Sandals, *snicker* :P

Still at that stage where I can tell the difference between a city campaign, an exploration adventure, and a dungeon crawl; understand aforementioned differences; and thoroughly enjoy each variation on their own merits. Not much grieving necessary for that.

I've accepted DAII as a disappointment for a while now. I won't be writing Bioware off for one misstep, just approaching the next few games with caution and doing a little research first. No more preorders for the time being.

In the meantime I'm playing Alpha Protocol and Two Worlds II, both of which I'm enjoying more than DAII.

Man, I can't believe I just typed that.

Acceptance. As in, I've accepted never to pre-buy a Bioware game again and I've accepted to not buy DLC for DA2 or any expansion unless you the forum people tell me what I want to hear (eg the 75+ pages of criticsm were listened to and acted on).

Pretty much. OH BTW, I guess we will see you about 3 weeks after DA3 is released, checking in to see if it was DA2 v2 or if they did us (the fans) right and DA3 turns out to be the most awesome game since Mario.

However the forums mods/devs said it was fully acceptable to reopen my thread so the content/discussion of the topic was fine by them, only the few who used name calling thought it should be closed. Everything he says is always filled with destain for others of a different opinion, thats just how he is.

You seem to make a habit of needing to attack me, are you stalking me? If so, just let me know, I'm fine with it but its nice to be aware.

Oh btw, the word you are looking for is disdain. Good word, that, very good word. Destain...not so much, I mean, removing stains is cool and all but it just doesnt have the same..gravitas. Thats another good word, see, you can learn something here.

Also, if you paid attention and still have the dialogue wheel I lent you earlier you'll notice that I chose the sarcastic option again.
