Well, I'm pretty sure I've already accepted that DA2 is a lame, half-baked game.
Not making any efforts to like it, and it certainly hasn't destroyed my life.
But it kinda shattered the "Bioware can do no wrong" illusion.
I also miss the apathy humor-stage option here.

My grudge against Bioware for giving themselves to EA is eternal. At this point in the DA2 cycle, I'm on the 'Uninstall and Burn' stage.
Yes, me too, not that extreme though. I went through the "Press the uninstall button, and watch something awesome happen" phase already and have left it behind me. Not harboring hate and replaying Origins keeps me sane !!

I think the real question is what stage is Bioware at? We know they hit bargaining already. I think they are in depression or about to hit depression.
So the ME2 give away was the bargining stage?

'Buy our game and we'll give you another one' can be interpreted that way.

obviously. Here's ME2 to make up for the ****ty game we sold to you. Or perhaps they still think DA2 is good and that giving ME2 as incentive will increase sales and also increase the fanbase because people will try the game or something. It's also obviously to help with ME3, but it's mainly to move DA2.neppakyo wrote...

I'm pretty sure they were fully aware of the consequences when they agreed on the less than 2 year development period. They cashed in from it so it's a win for them and EA.
On topic: Acceptance

Yeah but there is just so much in this game that wouldn't have been good even with the longer development cycle. Seriously bad design choices.infurious wrote...

"We saw a lot of people disengaging at hour one, hour two. Not pursuing it, right?" explains Laidlaw. The Dragon Age team might have chalked some of those lost players up to rentals, but the statistics didn't back it up: a significant number of people simply stopped playing Dragon Age: Origins after a few hours.
"I think what it really spoke to is something RPGs have been wrestling with for a long time: that first impression," says Laidlaw.
So they fixed it.
"You get to an RPG and fire it up, and ... it hits you in the face with a thousand stats. Those stats are very cool, but you may not be mentally or emotionally prepared to deal with them as your first thing to do in the game," he says.
If you have 5 minutes, I suggest watching this video. Interesting considering what we saw with Dragon Age 2.

I think the design choices were probably made due to the short time, maybe I'm wrong.
But if they had 4, 5 years I'm sure instead of recycled dungeons there would have been different environments, probably even more zones than Kirkwall itself. Also more depth in char development, more classes, better combat integration, better story etc.
Hopefully this won't become a BW trend, and they will continue to make the good RPGs they became known for. They have the talent and the $$, just need a better direction.

So, acceptance, modern developers just don't have it. Or perhaps can't have it in order to stay competitive?

There are stages? I've just been writing what I think without thinking of any stages.
Same, but the OP was partially a satire on what David Gaider wrote regarding the Dragon Age 2 changes.

I did enjoy Act 2 & Act 3 of the game though Act 3 is a little to short and rushed. I sort of got numb to the repeated dungeons and my 100th run across High Town towards the end.
On a positive note, you can rush towards the ending pretty quickly due to the repeated dungeons/mansions, you know where to search, where to expect enemies, and even anticipate traps, you can pretty rush through them and save your time on exploring. Very unlike BG, in order to face Sarevok, you still need to navigate a huge unknown dungeon full of pesky traps, and met a few new enemies which might just delay your last flight causing you hours of frustrations.

Is it really denial if you like the game or is it yours' and the OP's assumption that everyone must hate the game because you do? Believe it or not there are people that like the game and are happily replaying it to explore different paths. I and my family actually like this game and are not displeased with it on the whole. Are there some choices the devs made that I do not like? Sure, but not enough to keep me from enjoying it. The fact that it is not Origins 2 Is one of the better choices they made. I did not want to be another warden, there is a whole world out there to explore and I hoped to see more of it. Bioware delivered a game that met my expectations. No denial or rage here just fun.
