My "angry" stage was saying to myself: "You idiot! You are an adult, are you not? What on earth made you run out and blindly buy something? You deserve what you got, silly Sabriana! I hope you learned your expensive lesson!"
I understand what you mean here, but I wouldn't think anyone was an idiot who bought DA2 on the reputation of Bioware and the premise of a certain previous Dragon Age release. When thinking of both, it would have been a near automatic purchase. I definitely agree about learning the lesson though.

Slowly moving towards acceptance... Slowly.

Still in anger phase because I preordered this ****.
I have however accepted that the DA franchise is going downhill since DA2 is selling fairly well due to the marketing budget, all the hype and the payoffs they gave some reviewers.
DA3 will be the same **** in a new wrapping. We won't see a DA4.

I've come to terms with the fact that BioWare really disappointed me this time, and with my favourite series.
Played it twice and I don't think I'll play it again (played DA:O about 8-10 times).

In my little way, It better in story then DA:O. Oh don't get me wrong, DA story was AMAZING. DA2 story was just a little bit better. I'm not trying to think of the story as the grey warden story. It's work as the story of Dragon Age setting. Warden, Hawke it dosen't matter to me, just show me what I can see in this world.

After Mass Effect 3 I'll wait until the jury is out on future Bioware titles before a blind day one purchase.

"Making my voice heard so that BioWare doesn't repeat this mistake" stage.
I guess that's acceptance? Actually, I'm probably at acceptance, because I just can't muster the energy sometimes. It's like being angry over the Star Wars prequels. I'll never truly accept the films, and my opinion of the series has been stained, but what's done is done and I can only hope for the best. (The bar is pretty low here, BioWare. Though, admittedly, Star Wars had a stronger connection before they whacked me upside the head).

There are stages? I've just been writing what I think without thinking of any stages.Kübler-Ross model
- Denial — "I feel fine."; "This can't be happening, not to me."
Denial is usually only a temporary defense for the individual. This
feeling is generally replaced with heightened awareness of positions and
individuals that will be left behind after death.- Anger — "Why me? It's not fair!"; "How can this happen to me?"; '"Who is to blame?"
Once in the second stage, the individual recognizes that denial cannot
continue. Because of anger, the person is very difficult to care for due
to misplaced feelings of rage and envy. Any individual that symbolizes
life or energy is subject to projected resentment and jealousy.- Bargaining
— "Just let me live to see my children graduate."; "I'll do anything
for a few more years."; "I will give my life savings if..."
The third stage involves the hope that the individual can somehow
postpone or delay death. Usually, the negotiation for an extended life
is made with a higher power in exchange for a reformed lifestyle.
Psychologically, the individual is saying, "I understand I will die, but
if I could just have more time..."- Depression — "I'm so sad, why bother with anything?"; "I'm going to die... What's the point?"; "I miss my loved one, why go on?"
During the fourth stage, the dying person begins to understand the
certainty of death. Because of this, the individual may become silent,
refuse visitors and spend much of the time crying and grieving. This
process allows the dying person to disconnect from things of love and
affection. It is not recommended to attempt to cheer up an individual
who is in this stage. It is an important time for grieving that must be
processed.Acceptance — "It's going to be okay."; "I can't fight it, I may as well prepare for it."
In this last stage, the individual begins to come to terms with his mortality or that of his loved one.
From the wiki, probably on 4 with DA2 ~
You forgot the cupcake stage. It's the most important stage.

You know, denial, anger, acceptance.
I know a lot of you guys were in the Denial phase before the game came out (look at all those funny necroposts!) and after the first few weeks, then I've seen a lot of you join me in the Anger phase. Some are even in the Bargaining phase, no wait thats Bioware giving free games for this one...Do you guys think we'll reach acceptance soon, that Bioware is a necrotized zombie and the RPG legacy they championed during their life is gone? If we support each other we can get through that Depression stage before the Acceptance without destroying our lives...I believe in us.
Your thread title made me laugh. I remember the stages of grief from High School Sociology. DABDA: Denial Anger Barganing Depression Acceptance. I did not experience DABDA, I experienced CADA: Confusion Anger Depression Acceptance. Confusion, because I couldn't understand how my good friend Bioware could plant a dagger in my back. Anger, at having said dagger protruding from between my shoulder blades. Depression, over the loss of my good friend Bioware. Acceptance, that all good things must die eventually.

I have accepted that Bioware did miss a big chance, and that everyone makes mistakes once in a while. I'm on my second playthrough, I think it will be a LONG time before I do it again...

I, for one, very much enjoyed the game and its many improvements to the stale system of Origins. On my third play-through!
I think people need to look at the game as it is, not what you wanted it to be. That's where everyone is going wrong. It's not going to be the game you want it to be, no game will unless you design it yourself. Maybe it's not as good as Origins in every way, but why does it have to surpass such a brilliant game to be good? Hint: It doesn't.

As for DAII, I most certainly was content with that game. My only real 'complaint' was the re-use of dungeons, while I would also have liked non-companion romances.

Agreed.
I'm in the acceptance stage that it's just a bad game that didn't even come close to the same quality of past Bioware titles and dragged down the DA IP which I pray they bring back up to par with DA3. The one and only thing this has done has forever more stopped me pre-ordering titles from Bioware and instead waiting to see (exactly) what it is they make and release followed by reviews before buying. They have simply lost my trust that every title they make will be good both in regards to previous titles and future ones. This hasn't just affected DA but ME I will also now wait until released before deciding to buy even though it was made by different members of the Bioware team. This doesn't mean I won't buy a decent Bioware title any more or less then prior to DA2 but I am a dam sight more carefull about going on trust that given it's a Bioware title, that it will be a quality one worthy of pre-ordering.
People need to stop saying stuff like "I'm glad it's not DAO2 because don't want to play the Warden anymore" like I read earlier in this thread. When people say they want DA2 more like DAO they mean the way the story is told (completley different in the most basic of ways in DA2 compared to DAO if need clarification I wrote it somewhere else on forums and cba explaining it everytime I talk about DA2), the gameplay mechanics aswell etc.

It is an old argument, along with calling us old times, elitist haters who can evolve with the new swingin' times, that those of us who object to DA2 just want DAO again (or two archdemons stapled together for an epic Blight). Those are lame tissue paper arguments. I don't even bother. And don't get me started on the other arguments against people who do like it. Seriously, neither position on the game makes the other brain deficient.
Me, I didn't like DA2 all that much. Struggled with one playthrough trying to convince myself to do a second with a mage...just so I can do magic in front of Templars and not get hauled off to the Circle.
