Hi everybody,
I browsed through the forum and it seems I got a new problem. After 5 up to10 minutes normally running, game shutdown my pc (cooler keeps working). My system is Intel 4, 2 gb Ram, DX9, GeForce GT 220 (updated), SBLive 24 (updated), Windows XP SP3. It only happens to DA2 and there is no heat problem. Any ideas/suggestions ? Thanks a ton in advance.

Given that everything about it other than the Graphics is so far below the game requirement, SOMETHING is failing when faced with the demand of the game. Very likely, the power supply is either old, underpowered, or very low quality. Read off everything on its label, write it all down, and report back with that to verify this diagnosis.
Minimum:

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 (or equivalent) running at 1.8 GHz or greater
RAM: 1 GB (1.5 GB Vista and Windows 7)
Video: Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 MB (should be 2600 XT or X1800 GTO)

Intel 4....? What exactly is your system. Surely its not a Pentium 4?
Anyways, how are you sure that this is not a heat problem. Usually shutting down is indicative of CPU heat or PSU problems.

Its possibly your Power Supply has it happened to any other games? I had a similar problem with my gtx 260 and a thermaltake toughpower 750w psu switched it out and everything works perfectly. =)

It could also be a battery backup (UPS) problem. I had a crappy old APC that supplied less peak wattage than my power supply was capable of. If the computer pulled down more power than the maximum rating of the old APC, a switch would trip, and my entire PC would just die.

It's your power supply. It's no longer providing sufficient current and it's shutting down your PC to protect itself.
Whenever a Power Supply starts degrading it can stop providing the proper currents to power the system and shutdown your PC so the PSU doesn't take your rig down with it or it can just blow up(start up then quit) and fail power up..

Thanks a ton, guys. I've been exchanging emails with Bioware's support staff and they cannot find anything wrong until now. Using Events Visualizer I observed that faultrep.dll has been mentioned. This file is used by XP during the turn on/off moments. I downloaded a brand new version to system32 folder but it didn't solve the problem. I am seriously considering that my power supply is the cause. I will replace it and give a feedback. New games really suck. Miss the good old times of Forgotten Realms and Dungeons & Dragons. Regards.
