If you ged rid of the Wheel and offer the posibility to choose from more answers you will read the answers before you click on one of them.
If you already know the text the PC is going to say you would just skip the Dialog because you already did read it anyways.
I dont need a Voice reading the Text for me after i already read it to choose the Text. Thats stupid.
So Dialog Wheel = Bad
Some Voice Reading the Text i did choose to answer = Bad too.
So silent PC is the best option in my opinion.

Or an option where, when you highlight something, if you push say...the right trigger/shoulder button/spacebar/whatever...it gives the FULL TEXT and ensuing action? Why the hell is this hard? (It isn't, actually).
Why must we all suffer with a goddamn voiced PC and that piece of **** dialogue wheel because a few idiots who don't actually like RPG's want their "cinematic button awesome" experience? Why not give us a CHOICE?

I wanted to bold what was highly debatable, but I ended up bolding it all. So I won't bother. I'm not even going to bother replying to anything, it's simply not worth it. I rather debate with my cat, thank you very much, because he's a bit more mature.

I'm warning you Bioware, you are my favourite developer and I always used to say to others how you never made a bad game, just epic games.
If you choose to continue down this path I won't buy your products anymore, sure you can say I'm only one person, but for every person who comments, there are a thousand who feel the same.
The other day Gaider commented how it's a "mental block" for someone who doesn't like the dialogue wheel and an the voiced NPC, now Gaider and devs, I understand why YOU like it, it makes the character more yours and you can define it more, but it makes the character less the player's character.
Mental block? God dammit Bioware watch your mouths. Get of your high horse, you think your celebs? Kings? If you think you can say whatever insults and **** that comes to mind without paying for it, you are WRONG.

Bolded the important part.
And i think noone is complaining that there are voiceovers, just that the voiceactors were of debatable quality.
And to be quite frank, reading a book would only do you good, seeing how your writing lacks... finesse, to put it very, very mildly.

Mass Effect vs Fallout 3 in 2007. Both were considered RPG games, but Mass Effect had a vo and Fallout 3 didn't. ME had the dialogue wheel, while FO3 had the listed sentences to choose from. Which game was hailed as Game of the Year and outsold the other?
FO:3 obviously sold more and won more GoTY awards but personally, man that's a really tough call. I greatly enjoyed both those games.
Now compare FO:NV and ME2, that's not nearly as close of a race. I'd have a really hard time talking about ME2 under the assumption it is an rpg. Even just typing that made me giggle a little.

Bioware would just be known as the big guy in the RPG world.
The one with the money and fame, who produces the mainstream successful titles.
We'd probably all just enjoy them as a interesting compromise between the deep RPG elements we love and slick blockbuster entertainment of a hollywood movie.
Sadly, for whatever reason, Bioware is one of the very few quality RPG developers out there.
And because of that, I think we hold them somewhat responsible for keeping the genre alive.
After all, if they start pumping out half finished titles that are geared towards the young teen market to the exclusion of others...where else can we go for a good RPG?
Bethesda? Obsidian?
There seems to be a few smaller indie developers emerging now, so perhaps the future isn't so bleak for the RPG.
But even so, there should be more really.
Dragon Age 2 has proved, if anything, that there is a large and dedicated community that is hungry for deep western RPGs. And they're vocal.
If anyone from Bioware is reading this, then I ask that you look towards the JRPG.
It's a dying genre. It stagnated because it played it safe.
They pumped way to much money into development, and them had it dumb it down to reach a wider auidience.
And more and more, culminating with Final Fantasy XIII, people lost interest. People are not actually stupid.
Dont listen to your marketing team. Dont rely on metric data.
XIII made money, sure. But its now a running joke. You yourselves called them out on it!
But your falling into the same trap. You guys are great and owe it to yourselves to not go down that dark road.

Now let's predict for 2011 between DA2 and Skyrim. One has a vo character and the other won't, one has the dialogue wheel and the other will have sentences listed for selection.
Who do you think will win RPG of the year and outsell the other?

Bethesda games and Bioware games really are two different beasts.
Besthesda games are sandbox RPGs with a focus on exploration and gameplay.
Bioware games are traditional RPGs with a focus on quests and narrative.
When it comes to writing, characters, etc, Bioware blows Bethesda out of the water. The last Bethesda game with any decent writing, plot and quest structure was Morrowind and it was merely "okay" in that regard. I don't count Fallout 3 because many of the quests there were "paraphrased" from the originals and given terrible writing to boot. Everybody loves the Vault 101 booting as an emotional moment and highpoint of F3. But it was ripped directly from F1.
As for sales, Skyrim will surely dominate.
Hell, New Vegas dominates DA 2 and technically, it's only a spin off. Something like 5+ million in sales and counting. Though it is well deserved imo, you can play New Vegas like a straight up FPS and it still has more RPG elements and depth than DA 2 outside of romances and cinematics.

Yet the post here is that games can't go back in time to no voice character and reading texts because games have evolved,...I'm just explaing that no voice character games outperformed voice character games in the recent past and today.

It's a highly divisive issue but is also popular. The deciding factor is Bioware. They like the voices. They like voice acted protagonists.
The sad part is, they will likely waste their time on features in DA3 to make it more palatble, such as 'leave mouse over paraphrase to read all text.'
What's sad about that is, those who already dislike the dialogue wheel/voice acting will not be appeased. At all. Instead they will hit the forums with 'I don't want my character to say THAT! Why can't there be 3x different ways of saying the same thing and gaining the same response [a la DA:O, BG, etc]. And point to that to say 'the dialogue wheel sucks.'
I don't think they should waste their time trying to appease those who have already made up their minds about the whole thing. But from dev comments I've read, they will.
Ugh.
