Hi y'all! thanks for stopping in to my pet peeve.

Desire Demons.
For a gay inclusive company/game these Desire Demons are a major fail.
Oh yeah! you know where I'm going with this!

I'm happilly putting the moves on Anders and Fenris, hopeing no one gets too bent out of shape jealousy wise, 'cause I just don't want to commit right now, you know? and who could choose? who would want to? these are fine dudes, OK a bit...ummm...issue burdened...but mighty fine and I have high hopes for this Saturday night at the Hanged Man if that horny sailer gal just would stop spoiling the atmosphere with those oh so inappropriate comments!

Well, to make a long story only middling long: I get Desire Demons with tittie pasties!!??

Pleeeaaasseee!!

Would it be so difficult to have a trigger that trips when a male charachter chooses to romance one of the guys? And from then on have male Desire Demons or a mix at least for goddess' sake!

And if it IS difficult well, just never mind then.

You do know that desire demons can choose any form they wish? As a matter of fact, if you play the Darkspawn Chronicles, you find out a little something interesting with Wade and Herren.

I'm playing a straight female Hawke who gets the same desire demons, so I don't think hetero-centrism is the right term. I don't think that desire demons are supposed to be all about lust, though, so I don't think it's really an issue. In fact, *spoiler* in the Fade, the only character who is given a sexual fantasy from the desire demon is Isabella, and that isn't even the primary temptation in that scenario *end spoiler*. I think desire demons are supposed to be more about giving characters whatever it is that they want. They probably find the form of a beautiful woman useful because women are less threatening than men and some people do find their forms sexually appealing.

Also, you really only see the desire demon in its natural form when you know that its a desire demon. I'm sure plenty of people deal with a desire demon in some other form, including male forms. So, if lust is the desire the demon is trying to cater to, it can pick an appropriate form.

But desire "spirits" are about more than just sexual desire (hard to imagine, considering their appearance).

They take the form they do because they want to. Why are you trying to force your own wishes on them? If you want hot man desire "spirits," then you'll have to make a bargain with one. Until then, they'll look how they want. Which happens to involve nipple tassels.

That isn't canon, BTW.  Wade's only a desire demon in that DLC.

with all the recycling of NPC faces, maps, areas, etc....you REALLY think they would be bothered spending the time to do this for a minority? (gays being a minority..and gay males being just a portion of that minority)

be happy BioWare decided to make everyone in Thedas bisexual. you're whining got ya that. which can at least be argued to being worthwhile. This is just whiny nitpicking stupidity.

Yes because female players (most of whom would be heterosexual) don't have any interest in male desire demons vs the female ones we already have.   

That said. If we did get some I'd want some pants. Pants are very sexy.

Ohh that is who it was I just saw some one run into a corner and a demon spawned wondered what happened.

This is correct. Desire demons are about desire and want, not simply lust. They are not succubi.

I'm all for having a male form for the desire demons-- really they are creatures of illusion and can look however they wish-- but not having a male version of their model was certainly not borne of a desire to have them only appeal to one gender or orientation.
