This is desire demons we're talking about, so he'd be short, fat and flaming.

Honestly, I'd just really like it if the males looked like males. You know, like how the female desire demons seem to amplify what is considered highly appealing and recognizably female? (And adult.) So, yes please, on male desire demons who look like males infused with a healthy amount of testosterone! (And not those double Y guys that make you mildly afraid. lol)

What you're saying is that you want Varric with horns and voice synthesizing?

I was thinking more along the lines of Alistair without the man-child complex. ;)
(Yeah that will put the wrong image in your head won't it! LOL)

I somehow doubt desire demons come in the hairy version. (Unless you succumb to their temptations and trap you in their evil fantasies! Muahaha!)

I think the inherent problem here is that you're not going to make a desire demon that visually appeals to everybody.
I wouldn't like a hairy, excessively muscled male desire demon, I prefer hairlessness and male beauty. By the same token, I hate how the existing female desire demons dress. The legs and arms are nice, but that nipple jewelry is tacky as hell.

Well, I always kind of liked the way that the incubus (linked instead of imaged, due to potential NSFWness) was represented in the Shin Megami Tensei series (though I'm not sure Bioware could get away with that one).

Then again, I also got a huge kick out of Mara (also NSFW). Those concept artists are pretty wacky people.

I don't think they'd have to design something that appeals to everybody, they just need a figure that's acceptable as somebody's ideal of the gender.

Well yes, that's the point Posted Image  Varric is the pinnacle of male looks, asking for something prettier is like asking for more ice cream in ice cream.

I am intrigued, and would like to subscribe to your newsletter about putting more ice cream in ice cream.

What if the Male desire demons were modled off of sculptures like Michelangelo's "David"? Wouldn't that be an acceptable compromise?

1. I'd totally do Varric. Just sayin'.

2. They needed a lady demon, and cultural hegemony consistently casts busty, big-butted, slim women as the archetype for what is desirable. Hence, the desire demon is an almost-nekkid lady. Personally, I think it would have been interesting if desire demons manifested as whatever the beholder found most desirable, but that would take a buttload of work, I'm guessing.

3. Lawd, the desire demon's outfit is just ridiculous. I've seen strippers wearing more, and more tasteful, clothing than that. Pasties LULZ.

4. The accusation of hetero-centrism isn't entirely false, however, queer folks get more consideration in the DA universe than I've ever seen in any other video game ever.

5. That said, it makes me laugh at that famous post on here about how the straight males are ignored in this game, given the desire demon dress code and the consistently, absurdly enormous and perky ta-tas that grace the chests of every female in the game, including Hawke's mama, who's got to be in her 50s, and the Grand Cleric. But I just kind accept this as a fantasy media standard: all the ladies look like they could be models for Heavy Metal.

Edited to add: This thread is cracking me up in the middle of the comp lab.

Maybe, but they'd have to be... bigger.

I tried to allow this discussion to stand by removing the extraneous chatter, but I think the silliness has gone far enough.

End of line.
