Was over on the Witcher 2 forums and someone had a link to this saying "CDProjekt has balls" and all I could think to myself if a company that has only created one game before can do this why can't Bioware do it!

[inapprorpiate links removed]

Witcher 2 has dropped the sex cards and went for better and more tastefull sex scenes then have ever been in a game. I liked Mass Effect 1 scenes' Wasn't porn like FOX claimed (seriously wtf did they play?) but it wasn't terrible like in Dragon Age Origins or 2. Would people like to see this kind of scene? More nudity but tastefully done and mature considering Dragon Age is M rated game/series why don't they take advantage of that fact.

I thought Mass Effect's scenes were perfect. Tasteful, sensual, romantic, without showing anything.

I miss those. >.<

Europe in general is a lot more relaxed about depicting sex than America. America has this odd double standard of sex and violence.

@OP:
It's ok, I guess.
IMHO, the sex scenes were done best in ME1: not too explicit, but not too...well, 'lame' or 'forced' (IMHO, DA:O, DA2 and perhaps even ME2 should have all just 'faded to black' instead of what they had)

zzz again with the sex scenes. get rid of romances entirely and you don't need to worry about cheesy sex scenes.

Won't happen, unless they add some kind of parental control.

Bioware's too scared of incurring FOX's wrath. What a joke.

Yeah !

But we can follow also scenes like in  M1.

Romances scenes in DA2 were very bad. Annoying et very childish.

I didn't know The Witcher, but after everything I heard and saw them, I'll definitely buy this game.

The audacity of putting characters naked during a carnal act, is a great point, and makes me think they have certainly given a great job to make this game unforgettable.

This is exactly the reason why I am getting Witcher 2.

I am sure if Bioware followed through with sex scenes like this, they would get alot more perverted customers like me.

It's not necessarily a matter of perverse, it's just that it is time to end these ridiculous scenes. we are able to enjoy a truly touching final scene, without falling into pornography. T__T

Mass Effect 1 was perfect. Tastefully done. They should go back to that formula in Mass Effect 3. Nothing OTT like the interactive sex scene in Fahrenheit, or cringe worthy ones in DA:O.

Is several seconds of soft core porn really that important ?

I mean if I would want to see that all I needed to do is turn on the TV after midnight.
The scenes in ME2 and DA2 were good enough in my opinion, the ones in DA:O quite silly with the underwear sex. But there is no need for graphic sex scenes like the Witcher2 will appearently have.

There's no way an American game would get scenes like that. It would get rated AO and some retailers wouldn't carry it. I doubt the Witcher 2 will have those in the American release, although we might get a patch at some point.

I don't really care. I think it would be more real, sure, but I can see people having a field day about it.

Gotta love it, though. I throw my knife at a mage's neck and kill him while blood is spurting from his throat and then proceed to stab and brutally murder an entire company of ~15 men.

But showing the side view of a naked female body?! We can't have that!

It's because people in the US are just too damn uptight and ultra conservative when it comes to sex/sex scenes or sexual orientation. Heck, even an unexpected bare nipple breaks hell loose, how dumb is that?
Can't blame Bioware for that, I understand they don't want a raging army of angry low-IQ soccer moms rain down fire and sulfur from the skies demanding the heads of the designers on a plate.

People have to grow up first before we can expect real sex scenes in games developed in US.

The attitudes of different cultures is funny. In Ar Tonelico, they actually make stripping a part of the combat system. You have to gain enough trust to get the characters to strip to enable high level powers.
The thing with Romances , if you are not prepared to tackle them in an adult manner, don't include them. ME1 worked well, ME2 was with it's clothed sex was a joke.

There is a similar thread here.

To answer the question: Personally, yes, I would like that. I believe if it's tastefully done a sex scene can add something to the atmosphere of the game.
