Also, loosing everything when you edit a character seems to miss the point of editing. Also, the way mustaches aren't manipulated by facial animation makes for some very weird appearances, what with the mouth poking through the mustache.

For those of you who have had a similar problem to me (the full length mannequin appears to be set in shadow), I think I have found a solution. I tried updating my graphics driver, but this dod not help. Then I tried out a bunch of various configuration in the options and have found if you turn off "Frame-buffer effects". I can have everything else on the highest setting and it's all ok
Awesome, now I can really see what I'm working with!!
Cheers all.

Well I've resolved the issue, seems I have to completely switch off my firewall and application monitor even though I had allowed the Character Creator in the settings.Gastrian wrote...
Whenever I try to login or upload my character I'm constantly getting
"The dragonage servers could not be contacted.
Please try again"
I've been getting this since I installed it yesterday and am using the same logon details for this website.
Not sure if its linked but everytime I do an action on this website it takes me back to the logon screen even though I'd selected Remember Me, and I have to input my logon details again and then it will take me to the next screen.
Running Win7 64bit Build 7100
AMD Athlon XP 3200+
nVidia GeForce 6600GT
2GB DDR Ram
I'm using the F-Secure Win7 64bit beta

My second character (uploaded yesterday and again today) hasn't appeared in my account, and my two newest ones haven't either. No problem connecting to Dragon Age Servers and no error messages.
I've also noticed that, like others have reported, the creator isn't saving some aspects of the character. In my case, it's been the portrait background/expression; they always reset to default at edit.
Someone must have said it already, but male characters don't allow editing of jaw/chin and mouth, right?

I seem to be having an issue where I press "Prt Scr" but Windows 7 seems to ignore the charactor creator and just snapshot my desktop. I suspect this is an issue with Win7 and not the char creator, but advice would be appreciated nonetheless.

Good to know; thanks for the info. The settings are in the wrong order, then. We should edit all the facial features before adding facial hair if facial hair limits the ability to adjust facial features. Makes sense to me!Hawkeyed Cai Li wrote...
Male characters don't allow editing of jaw/chin and mouth if there's a beard in place. You'll need to eliminate the beard and then edit jaw/chin and mouth and then put the beard back in.

This is something I've noticed as well. I edit my character's jaw/chin and then try to put on beards and it automatically switches to inaccessable on those tabs. It also distorts the shape of my male's face (perhaps turning it back to default settings that are compatible with framing the beard objects?).
After adjusting my character and then adding stubble, some of the stubble options won't show up on my jaw/chin. It just shows as blank space/nude for me. I'm also assuming it has to do with the shape one makes of the chin/jaw and whether or not the stubble-stuffs will cooperate with it.

Then it has the ok button behind the flashing 'upload info' bar so I cannot click it and have to hard close it.

As you can imagine things are quite busy as we're gearing up to launch the game on all platforms - however, know that there are folks already compiling the info posted here and on the original DA forums, and going through it.
Please keep in mind that Character Creator was literally ripped out of the main game and cobbled together fairly last minute (and all while trying to hit our main game milestones).
Much like the social site in its current state, it should be treated as an early or beta app.
We really appreciate your patience if you're encountering issues, and your help so far by posting your findings.

First the CC has a failure rate of approx 90% of the time, I load it up and it says that the application has encountered a problem and has stopped.
I have got it two work twice the first time I created two characteres I tried to upload them both. I logged in succesfully and when I hit the upload butten it pops up saying uploading then disappears. My profile registered one upload but this portrait is not there, and the other character is not even registered. The first character was uploaded 1 day ago according to my profile.
As for my hardware specs
OS: Vista Ultimate
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT
Processors: Intel Duocore 2.20GHz
Ram: 2 gig
Memory: 70gigs
Thanks.

Despite the few remaining bugs and issues the CC and surely the final masterpiece DAO are a further milestone of "biowarian art" and I can imagine that you guys or should I better say the servers at Bioware were a little bit surprised of the download/upload-storm the CC created!
