I have the exact same issue.

I even made sure my EA Master Account settings used my BioWare login as master.

I've tried at least a dozen times and get the exact same results.

A server Error Occured while attempting to access your online profile storage'

The ok button is hidden behind the flashing 'upload info' bar so I cannot click it and have to Ctrl Alt Del out of the program.

The character info got  uploaded but no portrait.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  (I want my Lucky Stone!)

Alodar :)

To all those having this issue maybe we can find some commonality.
I have a pre-existing EA account which defers to my BioWare account.
I have no firewall.
I'm uploading from Windows XP running on an iMac.
I've tried being logged in to the social site when I try to upload.
I have no problem logging in via the creator.
I've looked at every setting in my BioWare forums account and social site account and nothing seems to be blocking it.
I was able to get a partial upload. No portrait but the paper doll uploaded as well as the name.

I've tried this about 50 different ways and still no luck.
Does anyone who has the same problem have any setups that are similar to mine?

Alodar :)

Get the splash screen, when I hit Play it crashes and gives me the dialog box to report it to Microsoft.

Changed to no longer open full screen, no difference. In the process of making sure drivers are up to date.

System:

OS: XP SP3

Video: Nvidia Geforce 6800

CPU: Pentium 4 3.20GH/z

RAM: 1.5gigs

I was able to create a character with no serious trouble.  I noticed that the mouth charcteristics were not selectable or changeable at this time, but from the looks of it, I imagine that this is not an error, but a feature that has not been activated.

The technical issues that I experienced were confined to the cinematics.  I am running Vitsa 32 bit with 4 Gig RAM installed (yeah, I know it isn't seen as a full 4), Intel C2D E6750 dual core processor OC'd to 3.1 GHz.  My GPU is a nvidia 8800GT.  I am experiencing what look like buffering problems where video and sound run smoothly for maybe 20 seconds and then stutter and continue then stutter, and so on.

Ultimately, I was able to get to the creator, and I turned down the video settings in options to Medium/Medium - before trying to create a character.  I had no video nor sound issues using the creator.

Possible fix for character uploads not appearing: earlier I reported that I couldn't upload any of my characters since my first one a few days ago. Minutes ago, I logged out of my EA account at the EA site, went into the CC, logged in, uploaded one of my characters (even though they were already uploaded before), exited the CC, went back to EA, logged into the EA site, then came back here. Voila! All my characters that I've been uploading appeared.

Perhaps the EA site login needed a refresh (logout/login)?

It's only a theory, since it's kind of hard for me to repeat it. I'll see if any future uploads vanish and if the same logout/login at EA fixes it.

Beards and sideburns are not properly attached on the skin.

Even the beards of dwarves look fake. You can look through the space between the face and the beard. It's horrible. It's unacceptable...

..I'm dead-serious.

Look at who's gonna be my main character. Maphesta.

In this picture you can see what I mean if you look very closely at the right sideburn (from your perspective). You can see a part of his earlobe and the background of this post through the space between his face and the sideburn. <_<

Just tried this with my friend's profile (she can't use the CC, so I was making a character for her); had the same issue. Tried your suggestion, and it worked! So, maybe it is a fix?

Okay, so like, I finally managed log in via the DAO character creator.. but now what? Do I just wait for my portrait pic to upload?

Yup, that's all. Check back in 30 min-1 hour under editing profile photos. You should see you character as an option. If not, check back tomorrow (mine took several more hours to upload than others). If you still don't see it as an option for your profile photo, try Kevin's fix.

I am also having trouble uploading characters. I get the "A server error occurred while attempting to access your online profile storage." and then have to close the creator as it just keeps attempting to upload but never finishes. When I tried the log out/ log in, I see my character's name but no image. I've tried deleting the characters and reloading but with no luck. Just adding my two cents if it helps to problem solve. Image IPB Thanks.

Was having issues uploading any characters. Gateway M-6850 Laptop computer, Vista 32-bit with all updates installed and Firefox as the default browser. As I'm lazy and didn't want to go through all 12 pages as of the time of posting, I tried logging out of the site and attempting an upload. It appeared to be successful, but the lack of a confirmation message has left me scratching my head. I'll be checking back, as what feedback I've seen over 7 pages indicates that it will take a while for the character to appear in my profile.

As a recommendation to mods/Bioware, might want to start adding any known fixes to the original post... and I certainly hope I'm not reposting a solution to the uploading problem!

Edit: Wow! Upload was almost instant!

Please check out our FAQ entries on when characters get uploaded - there's several potential reasons for them not to show up on this site.

It seems that tattoo intensity is not properly saved when you do not select a tattoo for your character. It always reverts to the fullest intensity.

Also, this may be intentional, but for male characters, cheek/jaw cannot be modified (they are greyed out) and somehow my current avatar has lost quite a bit of cheek at some point which I can't reproduce (preset has fuller cheeks and since I can't modify those for a male character I don't know how it ended up lost).

Here you go! Also, you can find the FAQ button at the bottom of the social site screens, right after the copyright notice and before the Contact Us and language settings.

I particularly found this one interesting:

No one has visited your DA player profile page - the system decides who to sync based on the popularity of their profile page

Something for folks to keep in mind. Get some friends, fast, or your CC will seem to be broken! :pinched:

Ok I'm having a real problem with character creator here... I'm not sure if it have been mentioned here before (it was on the main forums but I didn't find any good answer), so I decided to bring up this issue here.
So basically I create a character, I upload him, I leave that screen, and when I'm back my character is uber skinny, like a holocaust victim (especially if you add skin complexion), which is not cool...
So while character looks good on my avatar, in 3d and his portrait in game looks totally different. (here I brought up some screenshots)
Image IPB
While portraits may look alike (maybe you can see the difference with chin), the 3d model is far from what I originally had.
I tried reinstalling the character creator, I tried creating several characters (all were human males) all of them suffer massive weight loss.
Its easy to recreate problem, and you especially can notice the difference when you edit some premade face that has beard. You pick any premade face with beard, you go and edit something as simple as eye color (just click 1 time on the arrow) and BAM your dude is skinny and his beard is almost floating and separated from his face.
Please help fixing this issue, its killing me. :(

Well I'm kinda having a problem with the character creator there too. Some people already pointed out but no solutions were given, so here it goes:

the game cannot detect a valid graphic card and refuses to launch.

Here are my computer stats:

Geforce 8800 GTS 640mo.

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 2.40Ghz

Windows XP Home 32bits.

According to the game requirements posted my computer is supposed to be able to run the game.

Well, it doesn't.

I'm up to date in audio drivers and video drivers.

Anyone's got an idea?
