Please post technical Issues with the Character Creator here

1/ There seem to be 'tearing' issues visually when you are moving your avatar around the portrait. Ive tried to force AA and Anistropic onto the programme but you can see pixel issues from certain angles (like around the mouth)
2/ Dalish Elf tattoos won't save and reverts to the first one whenever you load the character.
3/ Certain backgrounds show up on the character but can not be chosen when you select it as your avatar picture. For example the picture shown in my avatar has a blue background on the character screen. But here it is shown as black.

Have the same issue. "An server error occured while attempting to access your online profile storage." Sadly I'm running on a nerfed mobile broadband conection, so I have yet to determine with 100% certainty that it isn't just the ping being so Goodly aweful that it can't connect due to it. I'll try and find a better internet line I can borrow to test this out further.Scorus wrote...
When uploading your character's info, and it doesn't manage to connect, the error dialog is behind the "Upload Info" button. Which makes it impossible to get out with Esc or similar and a forced quit is needed
At any rate, running Windows 7 64 bit RC build 7100, fully updated.

I managed to un nerf my Mobile broadband, which means I have access to 3GS or whatever its called. And my ping, although still abit high is low, enough to play MMO's fairly well. So I'm not so sure its the ping that's doing it. I'll try to borrow a "hardline" internet for further testing though. Have a friend who has internet through cable. Should suffice for the final test methinks.

And now that I go back to my other characters, they do look different from the screenshots that I took while creating them, and not just the Dalish tattoos.
Saving characters is buggy, period.

It may be a fault (or a feature) of the German Character Creator.

Yep.. I'm having the same problem... I've tried turning my firewall completely off.. resetting the security.. turning off spybot.. turning off my antivirius.. Anything I could think of that had a remote possibility of interfering with uploading. But so far nothing has worked.chrislynn wrote...
I am also having trouble uploading characters. I get the "A server error occurred while attempting to access your online profile storage." and then have to close the creator as it just keeps attempting to upload but never finishes. When I tried the log out/ log in, I see my character's name but no image. I've tried deleting the characters and reloading but with no luck. Just adding my two cents if it helps to problem solve.Thanks.
Doesn't really make any sense since I was able to upload three characters and then all of a sudden on the fourth it would stop working.
Edit: Also when going back in to edit a character it loses the settings on Voice, Background for portrait and Expressions for portrait.

Good to know; thanks for the info. The settings are in the wrong order, then. We should edit all the facial features before adding facial hair if facial hair limits the ability to adjust facial features. Makes sense to me!Hawkeyed Cai Li wrote...
Male characters don't allow editing of jaw/chin and mouth if there's a beard in place. You'll need to eliminate the beard and then edit jaw/chin and mouth and then put the beard back in.
This is something I've noticed as well. I edit my character's jaw/chin and then try to put on beards and it automatically switches to inaccessable on those tabs. It also distorts the shape of my male's face (perhaps turning it back to default settings that are compatible with framing the beard objects?).
After adjusting my character and then adding stubble, some of the stubble options won't show up on my jaw/chin. It just shows as blank space/nude for me. I'm also assuming it has to do with the shape one makes of the chin/jaw and whether or not the stubble-stuffs will cooperate with it.
I have the same problems too regarding the stubble. I'm missing a few options, including the one I want for this character: not having one at all.

Here's the same character after I uploaded him:
social.bioware.com/playerprofile.php
It looks like his face is correct on the site.

What was your display resolution at the time and some specs for your system, particularly the video card? They may be important to why this happened to you.Viz79 wrote...
BTW I dont know if was mentioned before but when I first started the creator, it loaded up on completely the wrong resolution (I have a 24 inch widescreen monitor) and the default resolution meant I couldnt even see the loading screen menu as it was offscreen to the right! I had to guess by trial and error which one was the settings menu and then change it to the highest widescreen setting.
I also have a 24" widescreen display (at 1920x1200; actually, I have dual 24" displays, but I only use the primary one for gaming). While the resolution of the CC was not correct on startup, it did load up full screen such that I could access everything. I have an eVGA GTX 260 Core 216.

Well, the card is not the issue, as I have a 9800GTX+ with the latest drivers and also have no text. Nothing I've done has been able to resolve this as of yet. If you find a fix let me know. This was an issue with the CC also, but is not an issue with a corropted dowload as I successfully installed with the same files on another machine.bmmb4 wrote...

I have the exact same problem. I locks up and you have to force shut it down. The words "UPLOAD INFO" graciously flash on the screen and behind it you see the error " A SERVER ERROR OCCURRED WHILE ATTEMPING TO ACCESS YOUR ONLINE PROFILE STORAGE".Scorus wrote...

Bioware HELP! How do we fix this issue?! I guess if they are in fact monitoring this forum they will answer...

I know others have used the Creator on their macbooks. Why is it telling me my video card is not supported?

However, I cannot log in to my account to upload them via the character creator. The "login" and "create account" buttons are greyed out.
:::UPDATE:::
I logged out of my account in the browser, waited a few minutes, turned on the CC and the buttons worked! I uploaded my toon, but it isn't showing. I was warned it might take an hour or so to appear.
:::UPDATE:::
It worked, everything is well with the world.
