Wow ... I Uploaded at 1:45 PM I didn't get the server error message i will have to wait to see how long it takes to update the site.



Your right, that makes absolutely no sense ...Changed the all options to default .. which were just graphic options .. I had them turned up the whole way previously ..



Ill check my profile in a few to see the upload time ..

It took 10 minutes to upload my new Character...

All pictures loaded this time, Except for one that has to do with armor, and the one above it which was a red X. Better than before though, I will  try to upload the other characters using the defualt settings and see what happens.

I have a bad feeling I will have to delete them and re-make them which I don;t want to do.

Did you install the Character Creator as administrator?

EDIT: Glad to know it's working. Thought you may not have the ability to write to the directory, which could be the reason for the graphic images not getting created.

Yep, in fact I don't have a choice as the program installer has the admin shield locked on to it. But as always I run as administrator anyways just incase ..........

Yay!.. You figured it out. Good job!.. That's the solution folks!.. For some reason everything set on max prevents us from uploading but everything set to default works. I have no idea why this is the case because the first characters I uploaded worked and I've had the settings at max since I download the CC.. But it works. Very strange. Thanks again D31m02!.

Edit: Now I'll have to wait for my character to update to see if it actually uploaded.. but I didn't get the error message.

Well... I was already at default when I was getting that message. So I turned down the options even further, and then I was able to upload another character. So I guess there is something to this!

I thought about that also at first I use win 7... I'm the only user on this computer so I only have one account which is administrator.. but I thought maybe there was some weird security block thingy.. but that's not the case. .. It really doesn't make any sense.. Maybe somehow using high settings was uploading in high textures and to save server space or whatever they decided while they were redoing things to only allow lower textures.. not realizing that it would effect uploads? I have no idea. Lots of people have been talking about this problem but there are no mod posts or anything making me believe they were looking into it.

So yours work at even lower specs but don't at default?...  wow. .. that's even more bizarre.  The solution to the problem makes as little sense as the problem itself..

I definately agree with - it does make any sense at all but I can say that once i turned all option to default I never got the server error again !



so far I am crossing my fingers and hopeing for the best. I had to delete my characters from the website and I just tried to re-upload them.



Server hasn't updated them yet .... Hopefully it will ..

I'm having the problem where I can't log in to my account with the intention of uploading my newly created character.
When I enter my credentials and press "Log In" I get the following message:

The Dragon Age servers could not be contacted.

Please try again.

I first assumed this was a problem with my Windows Firewall, so I disabled it, but even then it wouldn't establish a connection.

Another thing I've noticed is that my internet connection slows down to a crawl once I ALT+TAB out of the Character Creator and start browsing online. I'm no expert on this utility, but I don't think that's normal.

Damnit, now I can't remember who it was who posted the "restore default options in CC" solution to the error while uploading issue. But whoever you are, you just made my day. THANKS!!!

Ok, for all those who had the server error issue and you changed your settings to default to fix the problem and you had SOME characters upload incorrectly, delete the characters from the website and re-upload them and it will fix them on the server.



I sucessfully fixed all my characters by doing this ...

Just tried lowering the settings (was already at default) and no error message. Just for fun, returned to default (in my case) and had to close out the creator. Yay for the solution, D31m02! Hopefully with my new computer, I won't have to run on lower settings in order to upload. Thanks everyone, off to delete my wounded characters and try again.

Finally finished downloading the Character creator via Dialup.. 32 hours well spent. Made myself a spitting image.. Well okay a passing resemblance... and would like to upload it but I seem to be having troubles logging in.



Whenever I try to log in, it usually try's for 20 seconds or so, a quick alt-tab out reveals it is in fact downloading, but then inevitably it fails with the message "The Dragon age servers could not be contacted, Please try again". Any suggestions?

I'm having this issue with the client crashing. I downloaded and installed the creator with no problem, started it up, logged in with no problems. But randomly when I'm adjusting the character looks my computer just freezes up forcing me to reboot it (no keyboard commands were working). This happened a second and now a third time so I'm wondering whats wrong. I'm not really computer savvy so I don't know what people look for when solving these problems but here are some of my specs:

Version 2002
Service Pack 3

Dell Dimension DXP061
Intel® Core™2 CPU
 6300  @ 1.86GHz
1.86 GHz, 2.00 GB of RAM

I'm sorry, but has there been any solution to the issue of only preset #1 saving properly, all the others reverting to #1 once saved? I've noticed that it's a common issue, but the search feature here just isn't robust enough yet to be of any help in tracking down a solution, if one has been posted.

Hey there... not sure if anyone else is getting this...

I downloaded it, installed it... i click the game the loader shows up and when i click play i get a failure prompt and up pops
"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc015002). Click OK to terminate the application"

I am running an Alienware Area 51 m9750, Nvidia Geforce GO 7950 GTX... O and its got Vista... yay! /cry

Cross reference post can be found here of others having similar issues. The 16 hour response was to how long I had to wait for my portrait to become available. There are some suggestions in the link I provided to speed this up, so have a read and see if anything can be some help to you. Otherwise, patience is the best practice here.

The reason (supposedly) it takes some soooo long to update is because of this rule (found in the faq)..

"No one has visited your DA player profile page - the system decides who to sync based on the popularity of their profile page"   

To me this rule is one of the most bizarre things I have ever seen..  The person with the most views of their profile page gets to upload fast and fine.. While a new player or new person to the site will have a difficult time uploading.  It favours people who have been here longer and craps on the new person alienating a new player.  Now it does say sync... so maybe that just pertains to syncing the character while playing the actual game.  I'm not sure.  I have only 8 views of my profile page and mine upload in about five minutes...  (not correctly mind you I have the weird "can't connect to server error"... I get partial uploads of stats and colors just no portrait or character.)  Maybe this rule is or isn't the problem... no matter.. it seems like a stupid rule.

More than 15 hours and my character has not been uploaded, yet.
