It's not a huge deal I just wonder what will happen if I try to load one of those characters into the main game when it comes out.

Anyone else had this problem? It doesn't sound like much but it really distorts my original vision for my character's looks and limits customization. Is this supposed to happen or is it a bug? I certainly hope the latter is true.

Why is everyone getting effed over by this character creator thing? I purchased a brand new Windows XP SP3 disc, spent two days partitioning my hard drive, and then found out the video card in my laptop is not supported by the application. So I went to a friend's house, mooched some time on his uber computer, and finally created a character, only to find out everyone is having problems uploading characters. Plus, there is a lack of responses coming from the mods...

As I posted previously, I've had a 50% strike rate with GPU lockups on my 4850 - 3 out of 6 times running the CC. First was on Catalyst 9.5, second and third on 9.9. In the end I gave up and installed it on my Core2Duo laptop with a Geforce 7600GO. Worked fine, although there were one or two minor chugs.tigrina wrote...
For those having an ATI 4800 series graphics card, I just wanted to say that the CC works fine on default settings at least for me. I use Catalyst 9.8 and seeing the issues I think I'll stick to that for a while.

Haven't heard of a fix for this problem either... And i think no bioware employee has ever posted about this problem...they are busy with finishing the game i supposezurnic_59 wrote...
So I haven't seen any fixes for the login button being grayed out. Does anyone know if there is a fix? I haven't heard anything at all about it from any Bioware employees.
I've got the same problem, so when you find a soulution, pls post it

If you feel it's too dark just go under "Options" and change the gamma. Too high will wash out the color, but at least you will be able to see.GregSolidus wrote...
It's kinda dark (not really a techinical issue per se) during chracter creation.could you add a torch or two?

Tried and same issue. I'm guessing it's the way they designed it... not really sure why though.Wilterna wrote...
This is a small issue but an annoying one: Every time I put a beard on a character (full blown, not the stubble) the jaw and mouth sliders are ALL greyed out and the character's mouth and jaw sliders I had previously set are messed up! (bigger lips, gaunt cheeks)

Easier to make the beard meshes fit the face mesh if the jaw and chin options are "standerized"

are you people crazy? this is a bug. because when you look at premade faces with beards their cheeks are fine and they fit beards perfectly. Once you modify them with something as unrelated as eye color, cheeks suddenly become thin and dude looks like holocaust victim. same thing about cheeks/jaws not being saved when you come back to character you made before to modify him. Im pretty sure it will be fixed in full version, but expecting bioware to release a patch for a free character creator is kind of crazy... i think it was in this (or maybe main bioware forums in topic about CC issues) where Bioware dude stated that they ripped CC from full version for like minimum amount of time, so you can expect to see issues with it.. they're on the run to make full version as perfect as possible, and trying to make it in time for release date. so those characters with beards will have to wait till full version to be released

If you go to modify a character and you change their class/background their appearance will be forgotten. I'm guessing this is due to the fact that the choices available to different backgrounds vary but it certainly seems like it could be done better (save the appearance as a preset maybe?)
After creating a beard the mouth/jaw cannot be changed. There is absolutely no reason that you couldn't modify the mouth/jaw and then automatically regenerate the beard. At least there shouldn't be.. I suppose the code could be a complete mess.
My initial guess was that the character creator was quickly ripped out from the game and Sexy.KOT69's comment would seem to confirm that.

This has happened to me multiple times as well, with my female dwarf commoner.Mystranna Kelteel wrote...
Not sure if this is the kind of technical error you're looking for, but after saving my character and then going to modify her, her features changed...
The tattoo I selected was different, as were the eyes.
EDIT: And this happens consistently.

I cannot remove/change the tattoo on my Elf female, after saving, it goes back to the default tattoo.

I had something similar. I donwloaded the latest driver for my video card and it works now.Tooude wrote...
I've tried downloading and re-downloading the CC several times, but still have the problem where when I click "Play" I get a black square and an error message. I tried turning off my firewall, like someone suggested, but nothing has worked. Does anybody know a solution to this problem?
