I was getting a "Error opening file for writing" message too, then I stopped using Express install, and tried Custom install and that worked for me.

I'm having a problem, I get all the way to the title screen and pick New Character, and my computer tries to load it, and it ends up shutting down the entire computer. It's running on a Dell Inspiron laptop, not sure about the set up.

I've graphical glitches only on the left side of the screen on the character creation tool. No problems elsewhere. Can't take a screenshot of it either, but I guess it might be "locked" for some reason.

Just like JoralTelGwyn, same video card, X1950 Pro.

None of the buttons have words.

Same problem here plus a diffuse box in orange on the left lower side of the screen.
Running XP with SP 3 on an AMD Athlon 64 Dual Core with Radeon x1550 series.

That's what's really confusing me, it's not. The computer isn't even warm from the download at all, it runs everything great until I get to that screen.

I'm trying uninstalling and installing again

The program is running but it's not saving my characters properly - when I open them via modify/delete, the choices (hair, eye colour etc) still apply but I think what it's not saving is the preset I worked from, which obviously changes the entire facial structure.

Could this be?

It seems possible to have a Dwarven Commoner with no Tattoo. Given the Lore, this should not be possible. Or will a tattoo be added after creation based on the origin?

The same problem here. Specs: 64bit Vista, X2 6000+, ATI 1900XT. It looks like some problem with ATI 19XX series graphics cards :(

Well, I created my main char, logged into my account & uploaded the character. All apparently successfully, but my poor elf mage is nowhere to be seen.

I accidentally started creating an account before realizing I already had one when it told me my username was already taken - maybe that's the source of my dilemma?

Or maybe it just takes freaking long to update my account on your end. Anyway, whatever the cause I'm just a sad panda.

:crying:

edit: The latter reason, I suppose as it says last updated 19:10 (MEST), which would be around my original upload time. (I had forgotten to change the voice, so I updated afterwards just in case it was mentioned anywhere.)

edit2: just wanted to point out that my original post was about an hour after uploading and my first edit shortly after it finally came up about two hours after uploading

Doesn't start with a P4 3,2 ghz, ATI 3850 with 512mb and 1 gb of RAM. Running XP with SP2. No error message, simply does not start up.

Edit: Boy, that's a lot of acronyms o.0

Editedit: Okay, for some reason the icon didn't work, so I had to open it manually. Could have thought of that...

I am having the same problem, but it might be due to the fact it takes awhile before it shows up on your profile. It does say that it can take upwards to an hour before your profile is updated.

The character creater is causing my computer to shut down, as well. It lets me start adjusting the character's appearance, then shuts the system down. It does not appear to be overheating. Windows Vista 32 Bit. AMD phenom 9600 Quad core at 2.3 GHZ Nvidia Geforce 8800 gt. 3 GB of ram.

After the launch menu I click "play", the CC starts itself, then screen goes black and stay as such even if the hard disk keeps running.

After that, the computer stays locked and there's no way to recover it if not shutting down.

I am very disappointed, was definitely looking forward to this...

Computer specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.00 Ghz

RAM 4 GB

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670 - 1GB Video RAM

Windows Vista Hope Premium 64 bit

If someone has any idea, help is welcome.

I cant upload my characters. It says something about being unable to connect to the servers. The real annoyance is that every time i try, i have to shut down the game with ctral+alt+del.

Edit: Never mind, it works now.
