Please post technical Issues with the Character Creator here

Changing characters - The characters have minds of their own and reset beards, facial morphology, voices, portraits and stats on their own. It's not all the time, it's not all characters, it's not always the same things resetting. It is, however, quite annoying.
Inaccessible buttons - Buttons to dismiss error messages are consistently obscured behind those error messages, so the only way to dismiss them is to End Process.
Lip sync - Usually works, often doesn't.
Beards - Apply a beard, lose your chin. Applying a beard completely resets the lower half of the face and makes it impossible to change it back. I could understand if it was a way to make sure the beard model fit the jaw, but even with the assigned chin there's a half-inch gap between flesh and fur.
Clipping - Ears clip through hair. Beards don't merge properly with hair, and beards don't terminate realistically with the "bald" or cropped hairstyles. Would particularly like to see this fixed, as I'd like to make a self-portrait of sorts, and I have very closely cropped hair and a beard...

Windows XP Pro SP3
Intel Core 2 duo T7400 2.16GHz
2048MB RAM
2x NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950GTX SLI
The Character creator runs smoothly, no frame rate issues.
Problems:
- When looking at character in CC either face close up or full body there are random flashes of black and white dots, they appear anywhere on the body in small numbers at a time, they are aprroximately a pixel or two in size.(Hard to see but they are there).
- When trying to modify an elf, going into the facial features menu (After class/race selection) the elf automatically acquires a tattoo without me doing anything and when i go back it still has the tatoo. Even after i reload CC it has the tattoo without me saving it. Its the first tattoo in the tattoo slider.

The client's been crashing on me, now, too. I wonder if it's a laptop thing?
Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2 64-bit OS
Intel Core2 Duo CPU, 2.10GHz
Reseting to "default" in graphic options helped in my case. Everyone experiencing system shutdowns should give it a try.

Maybe the laptop is shutting down because of overheating?Yanna01 wrote...

Im running on WinXP Sp3. Dual core 2. ATI X1950. I have a PhysX hardware card (Though I doubt it has anything to do with it) There seems to be some graphical coruption on the most on the left hand side of the CC, Looks like it kinda should be a messanger type window. is making is dificult to design a character especial the eye colors
same problem, however aftter a bunch of setting changes i could not get it to go away but the graphical noise became a semitransparent item of clothing on the toon (his shirt). This happened once and i could not get it to happen again
also i am running in boot camp

I sent the following letter to Bioware Website support (apparently not the right people to send to because I haven't recieved a response yet, but thought it would apply to them as it's mostly about the Website login issues). This is long, but intentionally detailed:
**********Begin letter************
I have an account that I have been using for a number of years under the display name "Valeth Severand". I changed the email address for that to a new address several months ago. Last week I changed the password as well. I can successfully log in to the NWN/NWN2 forums using the new email address/display name and password.
I then created an account using the new email address for the DAO forums. I'm pretty sure I also entered a display name, but I can not remember what that name was. (All I remember is that it started with a "D".)
After creating a character in the DAO Character Creator, on the last screen of the Character Creator I logged in (using the button in the lower left corner) using my email address and the password I use to access the DAO forums. I successfully logged in and then clicked "Upload Info". A message shows in the middle of the screen that says "Uploading..." (or something similar) but nothing ever happens. After a while (several minutes), another message displays that says, "You have timed out while attempting to access your online profile storage."
I then went to the Bioware Social Network at http://social.bioware.com/login.php to try to access my online profile account. I assumed that I would use my DAO login, but that login does not work. So then I tried to login using my "Valeth Severand" display name and password, but could not login using that information either. When I used the "Forgot Password" feature, I created a new password, providing my "Valeth" display name, but still am unable to login. Remember that I can successfully login using my email address and password for my Valeth Severand account.
**************End letter****************
As it stands now, I can still log in from within the CC but I still get the time out message when I try to upload my character. (Every time I get to that point I have to use Task Manager to shut down the program. Also, I have ensured that is not caused by a firewall issue.) Since I wrote that (some time around the 19th of Oct.) I could no longer access my Bioware Social Network account, so I tried creating a new account there (screen name Dalek) with the same email address. I spent some time in there - even made a few posts in the forums, but now, once again, I can't log in to that (Dalek) account. So today I created yet another account (Therryn) using the same email address, and tonight I am going to see if I can upload a character.
I'll concede that maybe I'm screwing things up by creating all of these accounts, but there are loads of posts that sure make it clear that there are way too many ways to access these accounts. I went digging around to see about this linking accounts thing, but couldn't figure out how to do it. Lastly, when logging in to any of these sites I never got a message about linking my EA master account...

If it is any help, all I did this session was slightly edit a character and upload him to my account.
Edit:: It seems that Dragon Age CC will use all of the CPU resources on my machine unless somting else needs it where by it gives it up. I found this out by mistakenly booting up Left 4 Dead which seemed to do just fine with 7% of the CPU. I'm not sure if it will do the same thing with memory ,but holy hell, it sure uses a frightening amount. 400,000 K now.

The CC plays fine even with other programs running, but it says it's using 100% of my CPU and over 300,000K of ram.
I hope this is a bug and the actual game isn't such a major drain on resources.

same issue here. haven't read through the entire thread to see if this has been commented on by bioware staff yet but i must say it's confusing trying to make sense of upload system.
the note on the pages says up to an hour (though i thought i saw some place else say much longer) - i had to wait overnight for one of my characters to make it.
my latest batch, as mentioned, has the problem adhuin is having - stats are there (appeared within an hour or two) but no picture or portrait (>8 hours now).
not really a big deal... this whole thing is just a nice time killer for me until the game is released anyway. ... but it would be nice if there was some sort of indicator of the status of an upload/update. as it stands it feels like something is broken (i.e., only the stats got uploaded? then you start wondering, will the picture get uploaded later? or did it fail? do i have to reupload? etc)
personally i prefer lots of feedback - i.e. if it said something like, "upload successful, you are #43857238 in the queue" then i could just chalk it up to, "oh, the servers are busy." but again, as it stands now, it just feels sorta broken. i suppose this is one of the reasons the site still has "beta" attached to it?
