Get a message saying Failed to Detect Supported Graphics Card. Has anyone found a solution this issue yet? It seems to be happening to people whose specs meet the system requirements.

I am having issues loggging in the servers.
I know i am useing the right password but I am getting invalid password message.
It pops up after i agree to the EULA.
does the Character Creater allow specal charaters?
Is the authitication server down?

Randy, I know from personal experience that some special characters aren't recognized by the new Bioware boards. I was using a dollar sign, and underscore and an apostrophe and all logins worked except the BSN. So I changed my password to letters and numbers only and haven't had any issues logging in since.

Try that...

Thanks Vestor...same problem that you-all had and the solution worked. Wtf is with these simple fails?

2. mouth and cheek options are "deactivated", dont get a chance to change them.

Same for me but only in certain conditions I've not been able to find out yet. Seems to be when I make a dwarf character.

Dwarf Male cheeks/jaw. Certain presets initially allow you to edit the cheeks/jaws. Altering facial hair (or other areas) makes the cheeks gaunt and prevents access to editing the cheeks/jaw section. Since facial hair does not morph to the face, this creates considerable gaps between the hair and the skin. Thus, we are forced to use preset faces in order to have realistic facial hair which defeats the point of such a detailed character creator.

Yup, this one it is :) (same for me, that is)

I'm having an issue that sometimes after my character's finished and all that and I restart the character creator later and have a look at my old character there appear tattoos out of nothing on their faces and if I try to remove the tattoo it just comes back when I restart the creator.

I'm sorry if this has been posted before but I couldn't be arsed to read all the 26 pages looking if it was or not :)

When I click to log in from the creator I have the fields for email and password but the buttons for Log In and Create Account are grayed out. The only things that I can click on are manage account/forgot password, Close, and the ? link for help.

Tried running the program as an administrator to no avail. I have tried to upload several characters.

Also, one of my characters keeps showing up with a tattoo every time I review it even though I completely zeroed out the tattoo preferences.

'Run as Adminstrator' didn't work? Try this:

1) Disable UAC. (Should not be a problem, just in case..)
2) Run in Windows XP or Windows 2000 compatibly mode. (Running in 2k switches off multi-prozessor capabilities. Should not be a problem either...)
3) Diasable visual themes, desktop composition and display scaling at the combatibly tab.

So, I tried all these suggestions and nothings seems to work. The UAC was disabled to begin with.
I am still unable to upload any characters. And the problem with the tattoo reappearing after I modify the character is still evident.

Do you have any other suggestions?

I would love for uploading to work as I am leaving on a business trip out of the country tomorrow and cannot attend to this. I was hoping to jump right as I had ordered a copy  which will be waiting on my when I return on Friday. :(

When I click to create a new character, I'm greeted briefly with a loading screen and then my computer goes nuts. It's like my monitor is turning on and off, it switches from a backlit black screen to just nothing, accompanied by a blinding flash, and my computer completely locks up; all I can do is remove power and restart it. I think my graphics card might be inferior (buying the game for 360, I can't really tell, though) but I would really like to get into the character creator.

Running Windows XP Home Edition version 2002 Service Pack 3

HP Pavilion, AMD Athlon 64 processor 3200+, 1.99 GHz, 512 MB RAM

I've installed/uninstalled the program twice to different locations, restarted the computer, but can't see a single word on any button or anything after the video plays. The initial screen with the woman and the choices to play, exit, uninstall, and visit the website show words on the buttons, but it's only after the preview video plays.

The video looks beautiful and runs perfectly, but when I get to the Dragon Age:Origins screen with the sword in the ground, there are no words on anything. I click on the "button" in the lower left and it brings up a different screen, again, wordless, imageless buttons, click on another and more wordles and imageless buttons, but there is a '?' visible. I click that and get more wordless and imageless buttons.

I can't figure out what the problem is. I've looked for solutions, but if someone can point me in the right direction, I'd be grateful.

Not to be dissing the mods or Bioware, but has any of the official moderators made a response in this thread as far as fixing some of the problems, or have they just stayed silent?

Either way I'm still intending to follow through with me preorder, but it's a bit worrying if they haven't even taken time to acknowledge they are looking into these issues...

Nothing not mentioned before: Check minimum requirements, install latest video and sound card drivers, install latest DirectX version, run at WIndows XP or Windows Vista compatibly mode...

Is it normal that the Character Creation application send the GPU fan to its maximum RPM on the title screen, even at low resolution with low graphic settings???? I found it weird. I hope the game will be more optimized than that because I probably won't play it if it does (the GTX 280 fan is really noisy when running at full RPM). Games like Mirror's Edge, The Witcher, Batman Arkham Asylum bring the GPU fan to its full RPM only if I go 1680x1050, not at 1280x800 (resolution that I normally play).

Here's my PC specs:

Dell XPS 630i - Intel Q6600 - 8 GB DDR2 Corsair - NVidia GTX 280 - Vista x64 SP2

When i load up the actual character creator, it works fine, then when i start a new character i keep getting noise on the left hand side of the screen. Areas of blue and green pixels randomly over the screen. I have tried messing with the options, but nothign works.

System:
Window's 7 home 32bit
Intel Pentium D 3.2GHz x2
Radeon x1650 512mb
2GB DDR2 Ram

It should work fine. In fact it did work fine on xp, i have the latest 9.3 CCC drivers for the graphics card. I think i'm running directx 9c.

EDIT: Scratch that, its directx 11. Is that the problem? My graphics card only supports up to directx 9c.

Yeah I'm having tattoo and portrait problems as well. Only the weird thing is that when I created my first character and sent him to the social site his tattoo and portrait are perfect (avatar portrait next to me), but going back to the creator it shows the default tattoo and default portrait. So I've searched without answer, but my question is when the game comes out do we upload our charcters from the social site or the creator? Because, if it's from this site I'm good, but if it's from the creator I'll have to adjust him.

Everytime i try to make a Female human Character using Preset 2 wich i like cos of the nose and face from the side view..she completely changes again after i saved her and doesnt look like i made her.

just try it out...use preset 2...save the character and then look at her again in the modify screen she now looks completely different

*edit : correction this seems to happen wiht ALL presets..they all look a little different  then the way i created after i
save them

Image IPB BEFORE ( how i make her )

Image IPBAFTER ( after i saver her ) looks totally different

This is a MAJOR bug..whats the use of a character Creator if the person i make looks completely different after i save her!

The portrait in the character creator looks normal, but after saving it when I look up my uploaded chars on the website and in my documents folder the pictures are blank.  Just the round circle and no face in it.  Both the *_portrait.png file and the *.jpg file are blank on my computer after saving it.

core2quad 3.0ghz
2 gtx280 in SLi
4 gigs ram
vista 64bit

I'm using the 195.39 beta drivers that came out a few days ago.

Well, no new problems for me inside the CC itself, but I'm wondering if there is some server-related problem. Yesterday I deleted two chars and re-upped them (one deleted by accident, the other because I've decided on different spelling) and since I was already at it, I (re-)uploaded a handful of Origin-only chars as well, but all of them still had yet to appear today afternoon. After noticing that I did it again and by now it's midnight and still no trace of them on my profile. D:

I had uploaded a bunch of characters that didn't show up as well.

What worked for me (and I don't know why) is logging in the CC and then hitting the online profile button. The characters I'd been waiting for a week to show up (simply showed a black box with a red X) were now viewable (all except 2 out of 10).
