Anybody can tell me, how can I fix this bug? I hope that in full game won't be bugs like this
I have exactly the same problem and im running on an x1650. I know its not the graphics card itself, as i had it running perfectly on windows xp. However the switch to windows 7 has caused the error you are getting. However i have updated the drivers to the 9.3 ccc version, the newest available for the x1600 series. I dont think that it is a driver problem because of this.
That leaves me stumped as to what could be causing the problem though..
I had exactly the same problem, also running a x1650, directly after installing the character creator on a freshly installed Windows 7. Then I installed the most current ATI graphics drivers package available on ati.com and after this the problem went away.

encountering a problem and the option to send the report to Microsoft.
Tried different screen resolutions, no difference.

I have the exact same problem. I have the latest drivers. My graphics card is an ATI x1400. Seems to be a common problem among ATI drivers. Many people fixed it by upgrading drivers, however in my case there does not appear to be a new enough driver to fix this issue.

I'm probably just going to remake her from scratch now, but this is seriously annoying considering how much time I spent on creating her.

Yes there is.

They have not updated the drivers for it in a while though.

Doesn't save the tattoo information on saved characters. When I load a saved character into the CC, the tats are reset to the default, instead of what I saved.
This also happens with the background for the profile pic.
Notice same probem, my characters from dalish and dwarven noble keep having their tattoos reset to preset 1 even though I've saved them to have none.
Background pic i encountered too.
Quick Question!! I can't find it and dont have much time to due to work, but could anyone tell me how do you transfer characters from CC to main game? Thx in advance

I am running the x1600. Can you let me know what version of the ATI drivers you are using. I was under the impression that the X16xx series are cards were moved to the legacy driver set?

Here are my system specs first (awful PC i know...)
Processor : Intel dual core 2.6 ghz
OS : Vista 32 bit
GFX card : Nvidia Geforce 9400 GT
Ram : 4 GB DDR2
Also might help to mention I disable any firewall or peer blocking software that might stop the CC from working correctly.
Here's my problems anyway,
CC boots up fine but maxes out my CPU to 100% which shouldn't really be happening.
When i'm logged in and I try to upload a character it displays an error message behind the uploading one saying it timed out whilst trying to reach my profile.
Hopefully this will get sorted soon!
New here btw, so hello all!

In what language is Brumphy considered a swear word?
I had to terminate the programs process as it appeared to be trying to upload a file to the server that the server wouldn't allow to be uploaded. :|

There's an import feature on the main menu.
Going back, after my original post, the whole thing is borked. Not only does it reset the tats, etc.. as soon as you attempt to click the slider to change the tat, EVERYthing resets to a premade, and you lose all of your edits.
Not impressed with that at all. The whole point of this thing was to premake characters while were were waiting for release, and be that much farther along. As it stands now, it's fairly useless as a tool (even a technically obsolete one in most cases) because we pretty much just have to start from scratch all over again.
Hopefully BioWare can find us a fix for this. I don't want to have to waste time recreating all of them all over again.

Apparently the idiot that came up with the censor list is offended by the word 'rump', and thus your name was blocked.
Gives 'anal retentive' a whole new meaning.

The only thing I've ever encountered that was more annoying was NetNanny blocking me from typing in Word as I was inputting the word "assassin". It stopped me after the first 3 letters.
Why can't people who create stopword lists use a less brute-force algorithm than "if this combination of letters exists within a name, it'll be blocked."
Hmmm, I wonder if Camel-toe is blocked.

This is what the error message says:
Title Bar: Dragon Age: Origins
Dragon Age: Origins has encountered a problem and needs to close.
If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.
Please tell Microsoft about this problem.
etc...
The Error signature:
AppName: daocharactercreator.exe
AppVer: 1.0.8770.0 ModName: daocharactercreator.exe
ModVer: 1.0.8770.0 Offset: 0008bf49
The laptop I am trying to install this on isn't anything special but I expect it should be able to run a simple character creator especially when the game itself has pretty low hardware requirements. It is a Vostro 1400 running Windows XP, 2GB memory, 120GB HD, Intel 965 Express Chipset, Intel Core 2 Duo T4270 1.4GHz.
