When I start the game and want to create a character nothing happens...
I can neither edit the character itself nor give away points on Dexterity, Cunning etc.
Thus I cannot enter any battle tactics...
Only way for me to start is - quick game...
I'd appreciate someone to help me!

Prior to the update, creating a character was not an issue.
Now, it works except fot the fact that I can't see my character. Not even the slider bars are there.

AMD phenom quad core processor 2.1 GHz with 3.37 GB of RAM (with an integrated 756 MB video card)
any time i load the character creator, i get these strange glitches on the screen. (image links provided below to my fiance's facebook page) and no matter what i do, it never goes away. i've changed options, compatibility mode, screen resolution, etc. however, it ran perfectly on my old system which specs are as follows:
windows xp pro, intel pentium 4 2.6 GHz processor with 1 GB of RAM, 256 MB PCI video card.
how do i get rid of it, if there's even a way?

Tried another account (from a friend) and it worked just fine on my PC... any ideas what the issue is?! Might it be because this is a new account?!

I don't know which video card I need. I have Windows Vista and I'm pretty sure my video card is up to date since my computer probably isn't as old as the game itself. Can anyone help me figure out what I need to do in order to get the Character Creator to work?

I got in touch with EA customer support, thinking it might be a problem with my account. All they came back as saying was that they don't support the Character Creator and they offered to search this forum for me. Helpful. I've had a search around and I see there have been no solutions for this issue and no official responses.
I already own Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2 on the PS3 and was thinking of buying Origins for the PC (due to me not having access to the PS3 at present) but if I encounter the same problem with the PC version as I have with the Character Creator, I don't think I'll bother. I have never had a problem uploading a character to the website from the PS3 so I have no idea what the issue is.
Any help on this would be appreciated.

Clicking the online profile button from within the CC of course takes me to my correct profile.
I'm trying to unlock the Ring for uploading from the CC.

The majority of complaints I just saw in this thread, above this point (above Legion's comment) are for the actual DA:O game. This forum is for the (free) standalone Character Creator, which I will assume is what Legion here asked about.Legion 2.5 wrote...
I got the character creator to load but it says I'm missing a video card. Anyone shed light on it please?
No one could have helped without the details, including the complete error message. (This is a relatively outdated question; I don't know yet whether it was handled to Legion's satisfaction, as I've not scrolled any further down in this thread.)
Following Legion's comment is what appears to be a comment in German, which is not corect for the social forums, which are restricted to English.
After that, I saw someone asking about an onboard video chip: "(with an integrated 756 MB video card)" and not only is there no such thing, none of them are supported for the Character Creator, or for the game. Immediately below that, someone is confusing the moderation function with support. Official support is strictly EA. Forums here on this site are user to user, Self-Help, when in the Tech Forums.
The physical age of PCs is mostly meaningless with regard to performance, and in fact the laptop performance average has gone BACKWARDS in recent months, instead of progressing.lorem_ipsumIX wrote...
Hello, I'm new to the forum and new to DA:O. I have a character on the PS3--but I need a copy of the character on my PC so I can use the headmorph. I downloaded the PC Character Creator so I can just recreate my character on the computer, but when I click to open I get this message: "Failed to detect a supported video card."
I don't know which video card I need. I have Windows Vista and I'm pretty sure my video card is up to date since my computer probably isn't as old as the game itself. Can anyone help me figure out what I need to do in order to get the Character Creator to work?
Most likely, Lorem doesn't have any video card at all, as those are defined.
There is no such thing as an "Updated" video card. Only the drivers can be updated, and those are not the hardware; so my opinion is that there is no actual video card, once again.DA2fanatic wrote...
I downloaded the character creator. The program will open up just fine, but when i try to press play or uninstall, it won't do anything. I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 and the graphics card is updated. Also, if i press website or exit, it'll respond just fine. Just not with play or uninstall.
