Wahey! I've solved the graphical corruption problem.

Based on the version numbers posted by the_archress I figured my ATI drivers were out of date. Windows was reporting mine as 8.573, and the_archress mentioned that the current edition is 8.59. I was running the drivers on Snow Leopard CD, so the most recently released from Apple. Downloading and running the update tool from ATI was producing no change, and Windows kept reporting that I was using the most up to date available. After scouring Google for a bit I discovered the ATI MobilityModder at http://www.driverhea...net/modtool.php. I ran that on the drivers I'd downloaded from ATI and ran the installer again and now everything's fine. Well, except for the crapware icons all over my taskbar from both ATI and DriverHeaven, but I'm sure I can solve that problem much more easily...

The only issue I have had is that saved Dalish and Dwarven characters have their tattoos change when I check up on them again.

I'm having the same issue.  And when I go back to a character, the portrait is always set back to the "neutral" setting.

Also, it seems that you can only save one character with any given name, thus not allowing you to have multiple versions of the same character to choose from.

I've created two characters and tried uploading them. It looked like it worked as I got no error messages. I made sure I was logged in but 12 hours later my profile still hasn't been updated with the portraits.

Simple question. Would I be able to use this thing on my Mac through Boot Camp?

I have an issue with the creator changeing my tattoo selection after I've saved the character. So if I want to edit it the Tattoo is different then what I selected, often being a combination of many different tattoos. This also affects uploading the character to the site, which menas that after saving when I see the character on the site it has a different tattoo. This isn't on all characters and seems to strike at random, but once a character is affected no matter how many times I save it it changes back to the glitched version.

Now I've had the chance to have a little play around whilst actually being able to see what I'm doing, I can report that I'm also haveing the problem with Dalish tattoos changing. In creating Ulwahy I have selected this tattoo:
Image IPB

And yet when I return to the Modify/Delete Character screen I see this:
Image IPB

Modifying the character, I can select the correct tattoo, step through to the end, save and upload, and I still see the incorrect pattern.

The Character Creator log in does not handle non-alphanumeric characters in passwords correctly (at least one of _ - # causes a problem). When I tried to log in, it would pop up the TOS agreement, and then tell me my password was incorrect. Changing my EA profile to an alphanumeric-only password let me log in with the Character Creator. My old password worked fine on the BioWare Social Network web interface, and it worked fine with other EA software (Spore, the EA Download Manager, etc.).

I doubt it matters, but I'm running Vista 64 SP2.

I'm receiving a server error every time I try to upload a character (same problem I've seen a few others have.) Also, the error thing pops up behind the connection bar, so I have to alt+Tab out and exit the program completely. I have a hypothesis that posting something on the forum will help, so I'll edit in if it does.

EDIT: Nope, it did not.  And here's the full error message:

"A server error occured while attempting to access your online profile storage."

It won't let me upload any more portraits onto my account :( Are we only allowed to upload one?

EDIT: My problem is exactly the same as the guy above me. Good to know I'm not alone.

I didn't read through everything so I don't know if this has been mentioned yet.  If you scroll through the beard options it takes it upon itself to completely change the cheek/jaw settings that you already set up.  It will only keep them if you click directly on the one that you want.

As a followup to my previous post, it is interesting to note that the Character Creator will allow me to log in to my EA Account, while the social site would only allow me to use my BioWare account. Since I cannot connect the two, I didn't continue with the EA Account log in with the Character Creator because I want all the info collected together under my Bio username.

Note: I can create characters just fine (I created one to check what would happen with the login afterwards; still doesn't work). I haven't noticed any other issues so far.

I cannot upload my character to the social website because, despite logging in successfully, I do not have an option anywhere in the character creator program to upload my character.

I start the program

click login at the bottom left

login

create a new character or modify an existing character

go through all the character creator options, modify the class, look etc

I get to the last screen and save the character.

The only options available to me on the last screen are 1) save 2) order online 3) done.

I see nothing about upload my character anywhere. Yes I am logged in.

I created a character and logged in so I could upload it. I also created an album to put it in, but I can't find the picture to upload to the album. It just gives me a browse box, and I can't find the char picture. Where would it be on my computer? I feel stupid... Image IPB

If your looking for the body shot that gets placed in your character equip screen on your profile then that is saved to your  Users/Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/Pre-release Characters/YourCharName.jpg for Vista. XP will be similar but I can't check to be sure.
If you want to take a shot from inside the creator then hit Print Screen and the picture will be saved to the /.../BioWare/Dragon Age/Screenshots/User folder.

Never mind, I went to edit my profile and there was my picture. I'm still trying to get used to this new format.

Was able to create a character and save it, but it doesn't recognize my account, tells me my password is incorrect, but I am here, and am using that same email address and password.

Running Vista 64 bit business Ed.

Let me know if either of my dxdiag's (32 or 64 bit) would help?

My characters stopped appearing here. I got three up last night, made some changes, created a new one. When I go back into the Character Creator and Upload them now, it looks successful, but nothing has shown up on this site since last night. I can't tell if my current characters' portraits are being updated because the changes have been pretty minor. I don't THINK they are, but not positive.

Resolved all my problems with account connection. Turns out the issue was special characters in the password I was using. Even though the password itself was fine for logging in to EA, EA didn't like it when it came through my Bio account (using the EA Master Account link) or by using the character creator login. I changed the password and it works fine now.
