Shepard's trial must have an option to be defiant and deny any accusations.

Q: Why did you blow up the Bahak system?
A: I didn't.
Q: Why did you work with Cerberus?
A: Never heard of them.
Q: What about your illegal sentient spaceship?
A: I found it.

Like that. (Since the trial on Earth is going to be a plot hole and all...)

Q: "Please state your name for the protocol of these proceedings."
A: "Conrad Verner."

(I'd love it if a renegade Shep could just be ridiculously defiant.)

The funny thing is that the trial really doesn't mean anything, you blew up the Bahak system to stop the Reapers, but they show up at the trial and start wreaking havoc anyway!

So, even though the trial will eventually be interrupted, you'd be found guilty at default!

Don't you already have a thread about Shepard's trial?

It will be a little hard to never hear of Cerberus when you have a ship made by Cerberus in drydock being picked apart by the Alliance...Also it's not a plothole to be at the trial, you don't know why he's there, how he got there etc...Plotholes defy all explanation, but we don't even have one since the game isn't out. Calling this a plothole is like opening a book and claiming it be a plothole because the first page doesn't make sense.

Yes. Bioware should definetly let Shepard be able to act childish throughout the entire trial until the Reaper arrive. Then when they do, he goes back to being a badass.

I've got to say, the avatar+post combination in the OP is just brilliant.

Also:
Q: What about your illegal sentient spaceship?
A: Joker has one mean ventriloquism act, doesn't he?

Isn't that what Saren did? We indeed have become our own worst enemy..... Saren. I myself specially. Joining Cerberus, having an AI spaceship. Becoming an undead cyborg. Going totally Renegade in ME2 when I used to be a Paragon in ME1. Changing my mentality to a "at all cost" kind of guy. Man, I became Saren! great job BW, you really know what your doing.

I myself hope to be able to tell the truth.

Space Lawyer: Did you destroy the Bahak system Commander Shepard?

Shepard: Yup, to save the Galaxy from the Reapers.

SL: Right, "the Reapers".

SP: *eyes roll*

SL: So are the reporst of you working for Cerberus true?

SP: Also true. I even joined them, they have great dental.

SL: Wow. And your new Normandy which we have impounded and are ready to take apart?

SP: A gift.

SL: From who?

SP: The Illusive Man

SL: Who?

SP: Cerberus's leader.

Cerberus Commando: He revealed our leader's identity! KILL HIM!

Some guy: THE REAPERS ARE REAL!!!! THEY'RE HERE!!!!

SP: *facepalm*

Zulu doesn't believe the trial is a plot hole, he believes that the trial being on Earth is a plot hole.

Ah yes "plot holes"...

No but seriously, I hope the trial is rougher on us  Paragons. I want to see my good guy Shep justify raising up the exact same army Saren did. And for killing as many, if not more people than Saren did. Oh and working for a less then secret terrorist organization.

"How do you explain that Shepard? Huh?! HUH!?!?!"

Political maneuvering is not unheard of and wouldn't be a plothole :P

In the end of the 2nd book about the Musketeers, D'Artagnan receives captaincy. In the beginning of the 3rd book, he is a lieutenant again. Plothole? No. Some 50 pages into the book, it is explained. Will it ever be explained in ME3 why the hell the trial has taken place on Earth and not on the Arcturus Station or on the Citadel (which may be and in the default storyline is the Humans' domain too)? I doubt it.

He-he. My Shepard haven't punched Kalissah once yet. Maybe that is her chance to finally get in touch?

judge: please state your name for the record.

shep: melvin

judge: we know who you are commander, your face is well known. we even have your dna files on record

shep: commander? oh you mean shepard? wasn't he listed kia?

judge: we know cerberus brought you back, commander. your glibness serves you no credit.

shep: wait a second. you mean to tell me that you have problems believing sovereign was a dreadnought from another alien race but you have NO problems in believing i was "resurrected" after being what? charred, frozen, and broken into lots of tiny pieces?

judge: so, you then confirm you are commander shepard?

*great rumbling is heard outside, see a giant calamari flying past the windows*

shep: no, but i think those guys might

That excuse wont work for my Shepard, Hacket was on the ship already and I sent info about Cerberus activities in ME1 and ME2 to the alliance :P...Oh and if they don't explain it at all, I won't personally mind but I see the value in having it explained...We'll see, it's not a plothole until after the fact though ^^
