The Engineer was the best for me. The explosive drone really is a life saver. It's probably the most useful power in the game.

The Adept was the worst, even at max level. Adepts seem to be the weakest class without companions. I wasn't close to getting through the 5 waves at Object Rho.

They were all pretty good imho. For me, Vanguard was by far the most fun though.

In this thread, you can see how well different classes and builds did in the Last Stand fight:

I've only played it on insanity with my Vanguard which was fun but I didn't quite make it through all 5 rounds of Object Rho.
I've only managed to beat Object Rho with my Soldier (in Veteran mode).
I'd say I found the soldier the easiest but then I wasn't playing insanity with the Soldier!
Adept was definitely one of the hardest. I also found Infiltrator quite hard as I could never find many fights where sniping was much of an option. The damn pyros kept storming my cover!

I almost made it with my Soldier, packing the Arc Projector as my heavy. Ironically, when I played with my Sentinel, I went down in the first wave. I think it was a fluke so I'm gonna have to go try it again, but it was still disappointing...

I found the missile launcher worked best as the Heavy. You hardly have to break cover at all and you don't have to aim. That's my kind of weapon Posted Image

I guess I'm the only one who found Soldier incredibly hard. I didn't know that the fight was coming, so I loaded my soldier as I always did: Revenant, Cain (in case something REALLY big popped up), Incisor, and Warp Ammo as my bonus power (in case I have to go up against some biotics).

Needless to say, I had *no* crowd control capabilities whatsoever and because I wasn't going to replay the whole mission just to change my loadout, I had to keep re-doing the Rho fight until I was able to take down each successive merc in a matter of seconds. Thank goodness for maxed-out adrenaline rush.

My only playthrough was as a soldier, and i won due to incredibly confused AI. I just bunkered down behind the guardrail on the left of the artifact, and there were no attempts made to flank me, they just stood in large groups on the stairs and let me lay waste to them.
Had a scary moment where the mech was closing in, but i took it out just before it got to me. Fun fight

I played it so far with an Infliltrator, Vanguard and Soldier. Soldier was the easiest after I found the safe spot on the left behind of your starting position. Enemies were closing in on the left side, I could pick them off one-by-one there, and Pyros and the YMIR were doing a direct advance, but couldn´t reach me in cover even when standing directly in front of it.

I think after finding out about that, every class will be easy to go through.

To be honest every class pwns Arrival DLC. All that matters is your gamestyle.

Indeed. But there are two classes that got screwed: Engineers and Infiltrators - Combat Drones are completely ignored by all enemies (except the YMIR) and Cloak will result in enemies getting stuck (and need to be shot when you've killed everything else). Two unique skills that got bugged is pretty bad imo, but both classes can still get through without much problems though, but it does take away some of the fun.

Took me three tries with a shotgun engineer to beat the Object Rho part on Insanity. I initially had a Claymore. That didn't workout so well, as the attack drone is mostly ignored so I couldn't run up close to shoot.

On my 3rd try, I took Geth shotgun and changed to explosive drone, with Tungsten ammo as bonus. That worked out well. Area overload to strip shields, then shotgun and Locust for the kills. At least the explosive drone stuns and causes some damage.

My Widow/Mattock soldier breeze through it on the first try, uneventful even. Just stayed in the spot the Adept video used in the other thread, and ran for ammo a couple of times.

Vanguard took a few more tries than engineer. Haven't used the other 3 classes on Arrival yet, as the first 3 are my favorites.

Soldier and adept gaveme the most trouble. Adepts mainly cause i suck at aiming singularities and soldier cause I had a tough time with getting flanked by pyros.

Engineer was by far the easiest. the attack drone had pretty good suvivabilty and there wasn't alot of biotics to deal with. Also the drone completely negates the heavy mechs. Overall it seemed to favor tech skills.

Adepts have the worse time in this fight.

Soldiers don't have to even care for their shields, AR will slow down enemies' rate of fire and will allow you to change position quickly if flanked, and their high survivability and available weapons could be used in different ways to give you an edge.

Vanguards have Charge.

Engineers have the Drone and many tech powers, but can still have a bit of hard time if flanked.

Infiltrators can cloak themselves.

Sentinels have Tech Armor.

Any other class has its signature ability or strength to rely on but not Adepts- Singularity can't catch every enemy in its field and there's just too much fire directed at you that you find yourself sometimes just waiting helplessly for your shields to come up.

To do this fight successfully if you don't want it to be sluggish as hell an Adept has to either spam HW on enemy groups (stripping shields with a normal gun will cause you to take too much damage) or rely on specific bonus powers- either way it's not his Adept's powers that make him strong but the weapon or bonus power.

This fight simply makes an Adept gimped.

On a side note, playing this fight as an Adept (or with a less aggressive tactic) makes you realize how bad the AI scripting, or behavioral conditioning is. In some spots where you take cover enemies will always eventually outflank you, in others they will just hold their position and will not get closer.
You can find exactly what triggers them to do what, or where to take cover in order for them to stay put.

This is not a very good or challenging AI design; I hope this is not a prototype for ME3.

I guess the worst class would be Adept, seeing how the majority of the enemies there have shields.

Best? Sentinel with evolved Tech Armor or Infiltrator.

Adepts are definitely not the worst class for this fight - Engineers are due to the drones issue.

This fight is very easy for all classes. Just get into a good cover spot and you'll be set (enemies will never flank if you stay put). Adept throw a Singularity (which will hold 2-3 enemies regularly since they will cluster), shoot defense and Warp detonate (Adepts are the only class who can use warp bombs on their own - a very potent ability). Adept can finish this fight much faster than a Sentinel who stays in cover most of the fight.

Moving around changes things - classes with unique powers to aid them while moving around have an edge.

What is this "drones issue" I've been hearing about. Have only played vanguard through Arrival so far (and I only fell through the floor once :) ).

imho, success of infiltrator depends on the proper development of his abilities.

During the Fight for Your Life part, enemies will completely ignore combat drones (and continue shooting Shep) - except the YMIR, it's the only enemy that reacts 'normally' to drones.

The rest of the mission drones work the way they always do.

I had the most problems in Arrival with my Sentinel. "Sweet, I got their defenses down... Now what?" It bugged me not having something to take out their health fast. Stupid Assault Rifle training...
